Please, I need help! After my computer crashed and I needed to have hubby strip it and reinstall everything, something very strange went down with my fonts. The ones that I had installed-- I should say the set that is now installed is not the same as the ones I have collected *ahem* hoarded - over the years. Some of them I recognize as ones I had previously downloaded and some deleted.

Sad to say but my Font folder is a mess, the fonts that I see in PS are a mess. There are ones showing up in PS that are not active and there are ones that show as installed that are not in PS. It is just bizarre!
I had used Nexus Font and FontBase before so I installed FontBase today and now I am really, really confused.
Do you use a free font viewer or organizer that simple to use? I just want to be able to quickly view and delete the fonts that I know that I won't use, and then uninstall but keep the fonts that I use on occasion. The ones that I use frequently I keep installed.

Do any of you remember the Font Thing from years and years ago. I liked that one...

Oh no! I wish I could help. I have so much trouble remembering all the fonts I have downloaded. I'm a font hoarder, too.

I use Nexus Font. I don't have any (non-system) fonts actually installed, I just keep them in a folder and access them as needed through Nexus. I have deleted every installed font that I can, but there are so many fonts that Windows won't let you uninstall that the type tool in PSE is still a mess.

When you say "font folder" do you mean the folder where Windows keeps the installed fonts, or a separate folder where you keep downloaded fonts like I do?

i remember font thing - loved using it.

have been using amp font viewer. that was recommended to me yrs ago when font thing no longer worked

for me it locks up all the time but i havent been able to find a free easy to use one that lets you load fonts temporarily. other people have no problem with it though.

hehe, i feel like the old lady on the porch in a rocking chair-- Do you remember the good bond days when we had The Font Thing?

I have the main Font folder in Windows where I keep all of the fonts that I use very often installed with the System Fonts (And ITA, why are there so darn many of them that can't be uninstalled? At least now they have the warning that it can't be deleted. I remember many, many years ago I had a hand-written list of fonts that shouldn't be deleted. There I go again, back on my porch in my rocking chair LOL).
I have a Font folder in with my scrapbook supplies folder with sub-folders by font style. In ACDSee you can activate them by rebuilding thumbnails before opening PS.

I think I am going to try NexusFont again. I can't remember why I had both onmy the computer or which one I used more. But Font Base isn't making sense to me so I will give that a shot.

I'm following because I am a font-aholic also and I'm a mess with it. :) I have a font folder on my ehd that I keep them all in and switch them in and out. I don't know why I keep so many on my computer, also, because I tend to use the same ones over & over. ugh
