Elf on the shelf

Your poor elf would be scared witless!!!

We started doing a moving elf years and years ago before the Elf on the Shelf thing became a thing. It is a little stuffed elf that moves. He isn't bendable and he never got into the hijinks that the current Elf gets into. He also doesn't report directly back to Santa. Honestly, he just moves mostly. I have taken pictures in the past of where he moves to, but I don't feel the need to put stress on myself to make it a big and fancy production like some people do. Ain't nobody got time for that. LOL My pictures would be boring. Wreath, lamp in the kitchen, top of the fridge, etc. He always ends up on the presents Christmas morning.

One interesting story I should scrap though is that my son (last year? the year before?) wanted to set up his iPad to try and capture video of Santa when he brought the presents. So to get around that, I had the elf sit in front of the iPad and take an "Elfie" that blocked out Santa. :-) That one made my son laugh and shake his head at our elf. :-)

Sara, totally with you on not needing more stress. My kids are too old to have an Elf, thank goodness. Some of the pictures I see on FB are crazy and I know I would make myself try to keep up.
I love your Elfie story, how funny!

OH NO!!!! Is he back again???? He gets in more trouble at my daughter's house, and the grandchildren REALLY thinks he does these things!!!! Last year he was found swinging from the kitchen ceiling light; unrolled all the toilet paper, tore the paper off one of the gifts under the tree and knocked the dish of dog food all over the floor-----and THAT was just a start!!!!
