Duck out of water

SharLamb

Sharron
Sometimes I do feel like a duck out of water here. Other people are posting these GORGEOUS works of art that could go on museum walls, and I'm posting a series of photos documenting our tree stump grinding. Oh well. It's what my life is! LOL

Today I saw a whole bunch of ducks out the water....I asked myzelf why they weren't in the water, croaking and nagging each other what normal ducks always doe

Coincidence? ;)

What wrong with documenting your life, besides that you made awesome work! )and still does)

Hello?? isn't that what scrapbooking is all about? Documenting the wonderful things in our life! I think you are right on track Sharron!!

Most important for me is having fun creating! No matter what!
Just browse your gallery and look at some older pages and i bet it will put a smile on your face just seeing your family scrapped by you!

One of the reasons I like this site is there is a combination of artsy and more traditional layouts. I like to do both and am inspired by both! :)

Shar- you are not a duck out of water, not in the least. However, I do like ducks wherever they are (OMG, I just had the worst typo right there *gasps*)!!! :)

I think that all of your pages are beautiful, whether it is of your grandkids or a golf event. I haven't had a chance to see the stump grinding yet, but if it is a part of *your* life, it will be amazing!

PS: I feel the same as you, especially since I started with the Master of Scrap contest. But it has been a good opportunity for me to remember why I scrap and for whom. Hugs to you!

Good reminders everyone (wonder what Chris's typo was!!!). Just having "one of those days" yesterday. I'm very content with WHAT I scrap, and learning to love many different styles.

I love your pages Shar and I love the fact that you're always willing to try something new. I also compare myself to others (no matter where I am or what my endeavor) and come up on the short end but I also know that's not how I should look at things. I think our daughter was a great example to me. She was a gymnast and won a lot of trophies and ribbons. But when setting goals it was never about the winning it was about testing herself to see what she was capable of. I like to focus on that aspect although I'm not always able to. Just keep creating your art and don't think about what other people are doing. P.S. I know when I see some of the artwork here (including yours), it totally humbles me!

Everyone is different and the style and art of each one is what makes the richness of this forum !
We have all to learn so much from each others !
When I made my first pages, I never thought of posting on a forum in AMERICA (lol) and I'm always amazed when a page has success !
And the most important is what Timounette says : take pleasure in scrapping !

I am all over the place, scrapbooking! :) I have so many different books that I make: family, inspirational quotes, artsy (for backgrounds for my mixed media journaling) and just plain old boring ones. haha I think there are things to take from each person who posts here. There are lives and events being shared that all of us can relate to. Like all of us, I just enjoy the act of creating...if no one likes it but me, I'm still content. After all...it is my life and what I'm passing down to my kids!
