Do you use Snapshots in PS as much as I do?

Or is it just me needing help making decisions?
I think I use the Snapshot tool several times with almost every page I make. I take about 9-10 snapshots before I go back and start deleting them. But wow, they make my life so much easier when I can't figure out in what direction I want my page to go or how I want it to look. I usually use them as I scroll through the blending modes. Seeing the options one right after the other clarifies what I like or dislike.

How do you use Snapshots?

If you haven't used this tool, it is the little camera in the History Pane. Try it out and let me know what you think, and if you become obsessed and/or dependent on it as I am. :D

Wait? What??? What is this magic you speak of??? you mean we dont just click/undo over and over and see what is what??? Oh man, I am afraid to check this out. :giggle4: I'm easily obsessed. What have you done Chris!!! :floorlaugh: Okay I gotta see if PSE has this button and if I need it in my life.

Unfortunately, Tracy, PSE doesn't have the Snapshot option.

I've been using PS since version 3. I've used the Snapshots once, when taking a PS art course some years back, and I can't even remember how it worked. Now, you've got me curious, Chris, and I'll have to take a closer look at it.

Oh BOOOOOO!!!!

Sorry Tracy! I have a super old version of PS (CS5) and I keep thinking that whatever number PSE must be up to has to have all of the features I have. :crying1:

I don't use the history pane. I just tried it. That's neat! I may have to try it the next time I do a page. It may be good for trying different technics. Thanks for sharing!

See how you are?! Get a girl all excited and then poof pull the rug out from under me! :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: That's what happens when you dont buy the full PS version and go with Elements. Some features just aren't there. Oh well, I dont know what I am missing so its all good. :heartpumppink:

I don't remember to use it a lot, but I used it with my last layout when I couldn't decide which background I liked best on a double page. I'm more of a "why didn't I use snapshot" person when I overload history and can't take something back as far as I want.

That's a good idea, Jeanne, to use it for backgrounds. That's the hardest decision I make on a layout, and I think you just solved the problem for me! ♥

I have no idea how old my PS is and I *dread* the day that it stops working. I can't afford the CC subscription and will struggle and fight with whatever program I get.

I am so happy my question and comments are getting some of you to check out this tool!

Good morning! I use the history pane all the time, but usually I'm guessing where I want to go back to. I'll start using that little camera icon!

For me, it works two ways-- as I scroll up and down through blending modes, it makes it so much easier to "go back" to the one that I wanted. But the best part is by seeing one version and then a different one, I can quickly decide which I like better. It reminds me of the thingy in your eye exam. "It is clearer this way or that way?" Instant decision! heheh!
I guess I can stay dumb---I use PSE so don't have to learn a new thing. Happy Scrapping with or without the little camera in the History option.
