Do you own an air fryer?

We've just been gifted an air fryer and I had never especially wanted one. My daughter and granddaughter came over this afternoon and showed me how to make a couple of things. My granddaughter made bite-sized sweet potatoes and they're SO good!! We have mango in there right now, which my daughter cut up and seasoned. We're going to have it with some ice cream later on.

If you have one, do you have any favorite recipes?

I usually do foods that you would normally bake, breaded things...especially french fries and tater tots...I really need to start using mine for meats like Susie has done! I think you will enjoy your fryer :dancingbfly:

Edited to add that I have watched A LOT of this gal's Air Fryer videos: https://www.youtube.com/@empoweredcooks
I know we'll enjoy it. I don't know why I haven't gotten one earlier. My daughter also said anything you could put in the overn can go in there. We're going to have fun with it.

I used to have a counter top air fryer but then got a stove that had an oven, convection oven and air fryer built in. I gave my counter top air fryer to my youngest daughter and she uses it all the time. I use my oven fryer quite a bit and love it. The food is crispy without the grease.

We got an air fryer when we got married 5 years ago but I have never used it! I'm going to check out the link Jen shared!
We sure did enjoy the cubed sweet potatoes and the cubed mango, Vicky. I the leftovers in the fridge for snacks this week.

Oh, I remember now that you got a new stove with all of that on it, Evelyn. How wonderful! I don't like stuff sitting out on my countertops, but also don't have a lot of storage space that makes it easy to get in and out. i grumbled about that, but my dd got me to agree to let it sit out for a couple of weeks. She loves hers and uses it all the time. She also has an enormous kitchen. She got a really big one and gave us her old one.

Yeah, I have very little counter space...mine stay on a shelving unit in the hallway along with other large appliances...not the prettiest thing to see, but I prefer that over it being on my counter.

Yes, we have one. Our children get involved in a lot of things.
Fries, nuggets, potato wedges, sausage, baked toast, pizza, pasta casserole...

Somehow I don't use it that often :D

We have one and it sits on the counter all of the time. Honestly, I don't use it very often...don't know why. Just need to commit to it.
We usually do mozzarella sticks, onion rings, tenderloins...but those sweet potatoes in the air fryer sound like a good idea. And I'm going to check out the link!

I love my cuisinart air fryer/toaster oven. I use it a lot to make garlic bread, cook fries and chicken strips, cook meat pies, etc. I have a round one that I don’t often use but is useful as a backup if I need to air fry two big batches.

I wish I had another space - we've even thought of putting a couple of things in the laundry room. I need a lower shelf in there. That wouldn't be the prettiest thing either, but I'd take it. :laundry::lol23:

I can see that kids would love it. My dd and gd and I had so much fun fixing cubed sweet potatoes and mango in it yesterday.

Linda, those sweet potatoes we made yesterday were yummy! Ava just peeled them and chopped them into bite sized pieces, drizzled them with olive oil and added salt and pepper. I want to try making fries next.

I can see why a person could use two of them, or one bigger than the one my dd just gave me. She got a big one and gave me her old one. If we cooked for a few people, ours wouldn't be big enough either. Mine is a Ninja.

My middle daughter has one and loves it. I've toyed with the idea, but I'm not sure I would use it enough to justify getting one.

Years ago we had one but it was too unpractical for the four of us, so we gave it away. Now that the kids are older and love making their own food - something I wholeheartedly support as they need to be able to cook healthy food once they are out in the world and fend for themselves - we got one again and it is used daily. It is PERFECT for making food for one/two - fries (healthier than deep-fried), bacon slices, chicken wings, grilled sandwiches, frozen mini lasagnas/pizzas for one - anything a student might want to cook in a hassle-free way.

I personally use it to roast pumpkin cubes, bake potatoes, grill fish... - in other words anytime I want to use the oven but feel using the big one is too expensive (electricity-wise) ...
