Do You LikeThunderstorms?

I love them except when the power goes out. I sleep like a baby during them. The sky has been rumbling since about 5PM and I am so sleepy, but it's nowhere near bedtime. Boo!

I love thunderstorms! I'm the person who is watching the bad weather from my garage when the tornado sirens are going off lol. I especially love the gentle ones in the early morning.

We had a thunderstorm that lasted for hours last night. Non-stop thunder and lightning. I don't mind them but my dogs are not fans at all.

Nope, I haven't liked them since I got hit by lightning. It happened when I was in my mid-thirties at my mom's house in central Florida. She was in her bedroom trying on a new outfit to show me, and I was outside her door, leaning against the wall and flipping through one of my brother's comic books while waiting for her. A thunderstorm rolled in just a few minutes earlier. Next to me was my mom's old wall phone. Out of nowhere, lightning shot through the phone lines, struck my metal bra clasp, and sent me flying a few feet while I screamed. My mom burst out of her room, only in her bra and new skirt, asking, "What’s wrong? What happened?" I was speechless for a moment or two, but then I managed to tell her I had been struck by lightning. She lifted the back of my shirt and saw big red marks on my back under my bra clasp. A few days later, she found the comic book I had been reading; when I got thrown off the wall, I had tossed it all the way into the living room, and it ended up behind the sofa. Thank goodness for cell phones—no more wall phones for me, and I will never like thunderstorms!

I resemble that remark! I love watching the lightning and the rain sheering across the yard. And the scent!

That might make me rethink my love of them too. I'm glad you survived that. Wow!!!

NO! from the day I was alone on the phone (old style corded) with my mother in a small trailer during a really bad storm and I looked out the window and I heard a cracking sound. Lightning flashed and my call was over. Lightning took out the phone line. I was so scared. fast forward and I have a doberman mix dog who is deathly afraid of all sounds and movement. Loud noises spook her so rain (yes loud rain), fireworks and you name it. So every storm she pants, walks around and wants us to lay in bed with her. We give her benadryl to calm her down.

More than scary! My jack russell terriers both loved storms but Shorty doesn't. It's how we bonded!
