Oscraps

Do you collect AI images?

I can understand that. If I am able, I prefer to use photos of loved ones. When I don't have a photo that goes with a specific kit them, I will, at times, use AI to create a photo.
I'm kind of in the same camp, Evelyn. I have tons of pictures from many years and I usually have one of my own to use. However, some of the pages I create - I need something "extra", so I'll go to the AI category. They're sure great when I need a picture that I don't have.

But you know, I remember having this sort of conversation way back, when a lot of people didn't like the idea of using stock photos in scrapbooking as it wasn't 'real scrapbooking' :giggle4:. Since then I think the term "scrapbooking" has grown to cover a variety of scrapbooking, from memory keeping throught to art journaling and digital art. Come to think of it, I remember even further back when digital scrapbooking was never considered to be 'real' by the paper based scrapbookers of the time! :lol23:

It goes to show that while there will always be differing points of view about various things, it is that difference that makes us all the uniquely talented people that we are, happily co-existing together within this wonderful world of creative scrapbooking. :grouphugyay: :lovey3:
You mean I somehow missed a digiscrapping controversy? :floorlaugh: Having digiscrapped since 2006, I have seen plenty but I missed this one. No regrets on that. :)

As for the original question, I am just not an image saver. I do seem to be the only one. I constantly see threads to share memes you have saved on your phone and the amount for me is 0.

I try to use my own pics when at all possible but I sometimes use stock images. The only AI images I have used are ones I have created myself. I want to get better at AI image creation and that will only happen if I practice.

i love the ai images - get some from pixabay or use a free ai image generator ( but the ones Is use are hit or miss with the results ) i do save the good ones though.

I don't think I'd say I judged people for using non personal pics/free to use or pay to use pics, but I always felt scrapping with my own photos was better for me until my kids got older and I wanted to be a little more careful with not using my personal pics too much due to safety concerns. You can't be too careful nowadays. And as you all have noticed I edit my daughter's pics a lot now lollll and I LOVE AI for that. I love the magical/artsy look it can give my pages. It's rare now that I use a pic of my kids or myself that's not edited with AI in some way or another. As far as downloading AI or free to use pics I do have a folder of a lot of them saved throughout the years but I always find myself reaching for a pic I took myself and edited to work with. Also, I always end up downloading way too many that I never have time to actually use :floorlaugh:

My phone got full of photos of Santa’s snacks last year and I have not downloaded them off my phone, so I can’t save anything else even if I wanted to!

You should see the selfies with Santa and Rudy!! Hysterical!

I found this AI image when I was looking for a picture for a layout today. It's my granddaughter Alyssa and me. LOL What I basically did was run a picture of us through an app and AI went in and made it "different". I think it's pretty cool. I wish I could remember what app I used. LOL

There are fb groups were you can download them for free.
You can also create images by yourself.
Caution: If you are going to use AI images in your pages that you post here, be aware that you need to get them from "Royalty Free" sites to avoid Copywrite issues. Vicki S has posted new rules - you must list where the photos in the layouts are from in the Gallery description. I save my AI images in folders with the Site name where I got them from.... i.e... Pixabay AI, etc.
