For our first challenge, we've chosen the powerful word RECLAIM as our word prompt! This is an invitation to take back something that was always yours ~ your time, your energy, your voice, your joy, your sense of self.
Reclaim: Returning to What Was Always Ours
Reclaim. It is a word that carries both tenderness and strength, a whisper and a battle cry. To reclaim is to take back what was lost, silenced, or surrendered along the way. It is not about going backwards - it's about remembering, gathering, and standing once more in the wholeness of who we are.
There are seasons in life when pieces of us slip quietly away. We hand over our laughter to sorrow, our voice to fear, our time to obligations that never give back. And then, one day, something deep inside stirs. The soul leans forward and whispers: Come back. Reclaim what is yours.
Reclaiming the self is not a return to innocence; it is a return to truth. It is saying: I am still here. My story matters. My voice counts. As Alice Walker reminds us, “The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.” To reclaim is to remember we always did.
We RECLAIM time when we say no to what drains us and yes to what gives us life. We reclaim energy when we stop pouring ourselves into places that do not water us back. We reclaim spirit when we slow down enough to listen, to breathe, to notice the sacred in the ordinary.
Maya Angelou once wrote, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” Reclaiming is daring to tell that story. To let it breathe. To let it heal. To reclaim is to live boldly in the light of who we truly are.
This is not a passive act. It is a revolution of the heart. To reclaim is to rise, to stand, to step forward even when fear lingers. It is to take back joy, dignity, voice, and love—the treasures that were always ours to begin with.
Reclaim your time. Reclaim your worth. Reclaim the sacred wholeness that has always been within you. What will you reclaim today?
Here's the layout I crated and I hope it gives you some inspiration.
- You have until 11:59 p.m. CST on December 31st to complete your pages for this challenge.
- You must use at least 80% Oscraps products that are currently in the store (non-Oscraps products or retired O designer products can be used whether the designer is selling elsewhere or not).
- You need to credit all the products used on your page.
- You cannot use a page you create for this challenge for another Oscraps challenge.
- Upload your page to the Art Journal Gallery and then add your layout to the challenge thread. (Below you will find instructions on adding your page to this thread.)

NOTE* There will only be two challenges for December so you can also have fun with the 12 Days of December Event. We also know that this is a really busy month, so you'll have plenty of time to get your wonderful pages done.

Tracy!! I LOVE both of your interpretations, but this one knocks my socks off!! Those mesmerizing eyes say it all without saying a word! I love how you put them right in the center of the page, with the beautiful, subte borders - with the words printed on and the he title work, under the eyes, is sheer perfection!!!
