DAY 1 - JUNE 7 | MUSIC INSPIRATION | CHALLENGE

I love all these 19 pages!!! I see also I am not the only one who had trouble with the song lyrics and just used the title of the songs. The hardest part was that the song meaning didn't fit my life then, so I used the title only cause I was 19 and crazy. Still am today :giggle4:

I don't have any photographs of myself from when I was 19y.o., actually I lost almost all my photos. Anyway when I was 19 y.o. I lived with my sister in a small apartment, I was studying at the conservatory and helping my aunt grow plants, which she later sold, actually it was one of the best time of my life, I didn't have boyfriend, not parents living with us and telling us how to live our lives, and being honest we had so much freedom that we didn't know what to do with it, and majority of the time we spent at home watching movies, MTV music or playing nintendo. I received money from my aunt and from the school, and I had an incredible group of friends (music students) that to me all of them were more like siblings, we used to go together in a big group to every single event, cinema, etc, sometimes they visited us and stayed over night. My sister and I bought a dvd player, and as we lived nearby to a video renting place, like blockbuster, and as I mentioned before we had MTV and a nintendo, we never got bored. Without doubts I can say that I really enjoyed so much that stage of my life.
My take, thank you so much for hosting dear Cheryl, wishing you a very beautiful day! :lovey3::lovey3:

I went with "19" by Paul Hardcastle. It's focused on the war in Vietnam and the average age of soldiers of 19. It always reminded me that my brother fought a similar (though much colder) war in Korea at age 19. So that's what I scrapped.

DAY 001 – MUSIC INSPIRATION – I WAS ONLY 19. Thank you Cheryl for hosting the challenge – I was inspired by the song I Was Only 19 – I love the song, but the title was fitting for my page – everything is a mixture – Collect Moments – Fragments of Time – both Pavlinka Designs – Photos – mine – Fonts – Milkshake – Agency

Oh Grace, what a wonderful, yet sad, in a way, story. At least you learned about plants. I LOVE your beautiful layout. I don't have a lot of my early pictures either and it makes me so sad.

Oh Jean, that song really spoke to me too. I have a brother-in-law who had to go to Vietnam and he was never the same when he came home. This layout is so heartfelt and meaningful. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I just love this, Bubby. I love that you used a collection and that you found inspiration in the songs.

What a wonderful layout, Carrie. Love the picture, the green background and the wonderful artsy bits.

I got my inspiration from the words to "Once and Never Again" by The Long Blondes
I used a kit by Karen Schulz though she isn't here anymore...was that okay?
This is just awesome, Norma. I love Karen's work. I'll send you a PM.

I really couldn't relate much to the lyrics of any of the songs, but the title "Not Nineteen Forever" by The Courteneers took me back to my college days. I have many good memories (but very few photos) from that time. Our capping ceremony was special event celebrating our formal entrance into the nursing program. I would soon turn 20, but on this day, 19 was full of hope.

What a great page, Joan. I'm so happy you found some inspiration. :)
