Oh my...we are now finished with September! And you know how fast the last three months of the year go! Eeek...hold on...

Heading to a soccer game this morning and need to get kids new shoes for basketball practice which starts next week for Syd and soon for Shaun.

But most of the weekend will be relaxing and scrapping.:bathbaby: Just kidding about the bubble bath. The tub has a leak and the plumber has a bad back so it's all showers for me at the moment. Some day soon though...

And maybe might squeeze in a little bit of baking too. I am kind of hungry for some comfort foods...it's these cool fall (autumn) temperatures!

What about you? What's on your agenda for this weekend?

Hi Linda S!
I actually slept late! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeee! I woke up at 5 like I do during the week and I thought I wasn't going to be able to get back to sleep, but eventually I did. *happy sigh*

This morning is going to consist of puttering around, getting ready for a busy week. Then tonight, it is going to be a house full of teens hanging here and sleeping over. In between that-- it is gonna be Scrap Time For Faery!

Linda- I hope you get a bubble bath in soon!

brrrrr. it's COLD! Linda, as far as i'm concerned, November and December (weatherwise) can go take a flying leap. also January and February. so. 1/3 of the year's weather here is just crappy. this morning, the idea of a warm bath sounds perfect! if you ever need some lowcarb baking ideas, i'd be glad to post some. since i'm during The Big D with diet only, i've been collecting LC recipes.

Chris, YAY for sleeping in. i had a really STUPID night's "sleep." i was listening to a book while lounging in my recliner last night, fell asleep at about 9:30...and woke up at midnight. THEN i went up to bed and lay there for about 2 hour, tossing and turning and trying to listen to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows from my under-pillow speaker. i finally DID fall back asleep and fot up at 6. totally weird. it's one of those nights where you feel you were awake all night.

eeep! good luck with all the teenagers. sounds frightening. :fear: whatcha feeding them? (did you ever get the idea that i'm pumping you for MORE recipes?? :becky:)

today, DD is coming over to talk about a possible return to college for a teaching degree. wow. i wouldn't be a young kid with a college degree in this country for the world. unless you're an engineer or techno-something, FORGET IT!! my daughter is so totally OVERqualified for the job she's doing now that it's pathetic. and i assume that it's the same all over. and colleges just keep pumping out more and more kids. WHERE will they work?

anyway. should be interesting.

Hubby just returned home with this year's apple cider crop. EIGHT gallons!! we often get 40. no one around here had many apples on their trees. we certainly didn't. so i guess Hubby will treat it like a rare wine to make it LAST. i never drink the stuff. CARBS to the MAXXXXXX!

well, happy weekend! cook some comfort food!

Hey girls just poppin in for a quick hello got a busy day!!!! Have to take some family pics having a birthday party for 2 of my kiddies so I need to get cleaning and decorating cupcakes!!!!!! So have a great day all hope I don't go crazy!!!!!

Morning everyone... I just finished a long post and then of course lost it all :hurt:
So I will try to do a shortened version of my original post. Yesterday was spent trying to figure out my new iMac, what a lot of time wasted!! I could have been scrapping!! But I really want to scrap on my new computer so it has to be done right? Really had a wonderful holiday and the Grande Canyon was definitely the highlight of our trip a must see for everyone!! As soon as get my Cannon Camera all set up on this computer I will post some photos. So far I have managed to get my external hard drive set up and my bamboo tablet, photoshop and now just the camera software, yikes no wonder I have been on this thing for so long!! LOL

Chris - I saw some licence plates from New Jersey while at the Grande Canyon, and I thought of you and how great it would have been if you could have joined me there! Have a great weekend and enjoy all those kids at your house tonight, at least you know where yours will be right?

LindaS - Hope you get your tub fixed soon! There's nothing like a great bubble bath! Awwww! Hope you get lots of scrap time this weekend!

Phylis - Have a great visit with your daughter, what does she do for a living now? What courses does she want to take? It's the same here, too many students not enough jobs, unless you are a techie or a electrician or plumber there are not much choices for good paying jobs! Good thing you don't drink the cider, you might have to wrestle your hubby for the precious stuff LOL! Hope your weekend is great!!

Jen - Isn't everyday busy at your house? My goodness you are a bundle of energy! Send some my way would ya!! Have a great time decorating cupcakes, wish I could be a fly on the wall at your house and join in all the excitement!

Nana Linda - to my American Sister!! I have missed you these last couple of weeks but have seen the amazing layouts you have been doing. It will take me forever to catch up on all the gallery goodness her, but I'm gonna try!! Hope your behind is feeling a bit better now, must have really hurt!! Now you are torturing yourself with riding a bike with a too small seat, don't think I could find one to fit my wide load :becky: Have a fun weekend my friend

Yikes I better get out of my school costume and get caught up with the latest CheeryO fashion!!

If you read the Up all Night thread, you have already gotten your morning chuckle from me. My excitement of the morning was rolling out of bed, right onto the floor at 4 am. I am such a dork!

I had a really nice day yesterday. Both kids were in good moods- Cait was actually in a great, happy mood. We bought apples and made apple crisp together. It came out amazing, albeit a bit too sweet. The topping was the crispiest I have ever been able to make. We will try it again and cut the brown sugar in half and see if it stays crispy but not as sweet.
I found it on the justapinch.com site. Its my new favorite recipe site. Allrecipes used to be my go-to, but justapinch tests recipes and you can search by Blue Ribbon recipes and get the really good ones.

Today I am off to drop Scott of at his gf's, then Cait and I will travel back up the highway to do errands. She got a GC at a make-up store not too far from where I have to bring Scott, but far from where I live so I might as well combine trips.

Football is on this afternoon, and i have a book I have to finish reading or I will get fined by the library. I have this "thing" that I feel horrible about library fines. Like I let the library down by being late. Like the library actually cares.... hehe....

Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Morning O fam- now that I am done with my conference, I have much to do, my fridge is bare of fresh fruits and veggies and that is a problem. It is fall and I feel a walk with camera coming on. I must get ready for a fun filled work week. Trying to put my new skills, techniques into practice should be interesting!

Linda -- did you get any baking done too? What did you make? Comfort food time of year is kicking in quickly. :hungry:

Phyllis- so with you on the weather! Hope that you slept much better last night. I hate those nights were you know that you *must* have slept at some point, but it doesn't feel like it all all.
How as your DD's visit? Scott is 16 and I have no idea on how to advice him for his future... I hope that you did better with your DD...what was her degree in originally?

Jen-- "Go" Crazy?? Too late for that!!! How did the parties go? Did you survive ok?
I told my DS Scott about you the other day. He has this odd fear of goats and sheep. He says that it comes from a petting zoo incident when he was little and got knocked down by a goat. Its kind of a family joke and the last time we were at a zoo (last summer!!) he pet a sheep successfully. When I told him that you got sheep for your birthday, he just about fell off of his chair!

Trudy!!!!! Welcome back home!! We missed you but it was nice to have you pop in occasionally! Woo hoo for the new computer!!!!!! I can't wait to see the pics!
Ack!! I cannot imagine driving out West like that! I'd be batty in no time. 2-3 hours in a car is about my limit.

Hugs to everyone!!!!
xoxoxo

Chris, and Trudy, DD has a degree in English, with a double minor in Business and Spanish. you would THINK that there'd be a job somewhere for her that's better than being a glorified teacher's aide... who knows what the return to school will do for her. she's going to get the "education" part of an English degree so that she can then start looking for non-existent teaching jobs....

Laurie, have some fun trying out your new methods!

Linda, hope you're feeling better, since you were part of the up All Night Club last night!!

Trudy, loving your new Avi!

Jen, are you done with all the parties??

have a good Sunday, all.

Split schedule sleeping last night.....11-1 first shift...5-9 second shift....not the most conventional way to get a good nights rest...but I will take it!!!!!!!!!

Jesse had a soccer game yesterday...Savannah came over to visit for a while...my floor got covered with milkshake...ick...lots of mopping.....Went to visit my Mom..she had been really sick all week..but she is feeling better now...then I went to the mall to get a couple of new pair of pants, and a few shirts...I HATE SHOPPING!!!

Today...Josie (grandbaby #8) is having her first birthday party!!! So that's where we are headed this afternoon.

That's about it from here!!!

Have an awesome Sunday!!!!!!!!!!

hey. Nana. no fair!! you got a second shift!! i'm still motoring on from the 3 a.m. wake-up call. i feel like it should be about 10 o'clock at night. i keep finding stuff to do, then see that it's only NOON! the rest of this day should be interesting....

Hey everyone, hope your weekend is going a bit smoother than mine!! So much to do and so little time to do it! Pretty much got everything put on my new computer so that only took me just about all weekend...:pout: but at least I can now use it to scrapbook!! Hooray!! Now the frustration of learning Photoshop CS5 for Mac  who thought it could be so different?? Oh well I'm learning, that's what counts! Hubby wants to got for a hike today, and now that I am back to work tomorrow, it looks as though my hrs have been cut and I am only working two days this week. Hooray :becky: we will see how long that will last!

Nana Linda and Phylis - I also did a split shift for sleep last nite, first shift 11:00 to 3 second shift 7-10 so I am well rested I guess?? Anyway gotta get going for our hike, hopefully more time here tonight!
