Good morning! Why would I be awake at 3:30 on a Saturday morning? Probably because my mind is going like this.:juggle: It is cold in the house...down to 62 degrees. Fine if in bed, snuggled under layers of blankets. Not so fine when sitting in the office, playing on the computer.

So tell me about your weekend plans. Anyone have anything exciting going on?

Morning Linda- it is chilly here, just turned the heat up. We have dance practice and will be practicing our routine for next weeks performance- eek! We were both too tired to go out dancing last night. We will be working on our basement- putting the sink in, drawer liners and slideouts, backsplash- well at least figuring it out. I have tulips to plant- it will be chilly, but need to get them in. That's all I can think of, oh and scrapping!

Plan for today:
- post my layouts
- get some scrapping done
- go to Mora & shop
- visit dad at the hospital
- knit & watch The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest on DVD

Plans for tomorrow:
"Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

Linda!! good grief, you're up early again! i actually made it 4:30, but i fell asleep at 9:30 last night, so i can't complain. how are you feeling? you mentioned before when you were up in the middle of the night that you weren't feeling that great. hope everything's going great.

Laurie, i wish we were remodeling something here at my house. i just look around and think: Yep. THAT is getting pretty ratty looking. my Hubby doesn't SEE things that are getting worn out. he's one of these guys who thinks that we just put in a new kitchen! except is was in 1993....

Eva, i watch the three Lizbeth movies over and over. i have them on my iPad. i have the English dubbed versions. the American version of the first movie really STINKS, compared to the Swedish version. Noomi Rapace is a marvel.

i actually did the kitchen grout repairs started yesterday. i guess i have to add another layer today. then i have to do the paint touch-up in the dining room. i really WILL do it today. much beyond that, i have NO idea. maybe clean up my basement laundry room a LOT. i use the words "laundry room" advisedly. i'm in there with a cement floor, the furnace and the hot water heater. definitely a CELLAR laundry room....

enjoy today. a lot.

This is the third time we're watching the movies. Finally bought them on DVD. We were just tallking about going and rent the American version, just to compare. The Swedish movies are ok - Noomi Rapace is BRILLIANT as Lisbet Salander. I was sure no-one could play her, she's such a fantastic character, but I think Noomi Rapace did it really well. But as always - a movie can never be as good as a book.

Well ... there's one exception from that rule. Never thought I'd see it happen that a movie was better than the book .... but then The Twilight Saga came along. Books are ok - but the movies are sooooo much better. I think it's mainly because I don't have to listen to Bella's brain all the time. That bird is an airhead and totally annoying LOL

Eva, i'm with you on Bella. i always wonder exactly WHAT it is (besides the way she SMELLS) that makes Edward love her!!

the American version is BAAAAD. and they change the story at the end. for totally NO good reason. the girl who plays Lizbet is like a dead fish. rent it if you MUST, but don't buy it.

Uuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggg Phylis, GET OUT OF THE CELLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hee hee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's a nasty place for a laundry room!!!!!!!!!!! waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa I have laundry too! I'm going to do some baking for Thanksgiving on Monday and some more cleaning around the house. Yuck! But I have my nice scentsy candles going so it inspires me to clean. Also yesterday I had hemp hearts for breaky and WOW I had super energy ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was Awesome and the best part... it lowered my blood sugar to this crazy low numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So Whooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooo they weren't lying when they said it was fantastic for diabetics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that makes me very very happy!

Chilly here this morning too! I went outside to shut the darn dog up who's barking at the cars down the highway and now my fingers be frozen!!!!!!!!! LOL Ok, gotta get the baby out of bed he's barking at me too!!!!! My office is right beside his bedroom I swear he hears me clicking on the keyboard!!!!! And my DH is sitting in the Hot tub and I can't go in :( No fair, so nice and warm in there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were just talking about Dragon Tattoo and Lisbet yesterday.
The woman's house who I was at last night is Swedish (duel citizen, Dad came to US as an adult and she lived in Sweden and went to Uni there) and she was telling us stories about how someone in her son's school and someone in her mom's nursing home made some ignorant mistakes in treating her family members. I told her that she reminds me of Lisbet- very happy to mind her own business, but if you mess with her or someone she loves with injustice-- watch out.

Gary and I were thinking about watching the American version, since we loved the three Swedish movies, but I am really glad you said that they were bad. Now I don't have to ruin the good memory of the series with American crap.

I actually liked the Twilight series books better than the movies. Kristen Stewart is one of the most annoying actors ever, and I do not find anything remotely attractive about Robert Pattinson, so even that "benefit" was lost on me.

Boy I am critical today! hahaha. Just when it comes to messing with books. :D

So yay weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not much going on here aside from mom's taxi service again.

Linda- ugh ugh ugh!!! I hope you have a chance to take a power nap today, or at least put your feet up for a few.
Hope it warms up-- yesterday it was 81* here!! Loved it. When I met my BFF, we sat out on her deck and drank water, not coffee. She even bought pumpkin flavored coffee for us, but it felt too wrong to drink it.
Today its going to be 70 and tomorrow 50* yuck!!!!

Laurie- how exciting for the remodel!

Eva- how are you and your family holding up with it all? Sending hugs to you!

Phyllis- don't over do it, or you'll be hurting tomorrow, for sure. Your basement sounds like mine- we even have part of a boulder as part of the wall/foundation- they poured the cement right around it. Gary just came upstairs and said that the dehumidifier finally stopped working. It was a hand-me-down when we got married- had to be at least 30 years old..... now whatever we buy will probably last about a year if we are lucky. They just do not make stuff liek they used too.

Hi Jennnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED your monster beet LO!
Can you get hemp without any issues in Canada? Its very hard to find here and when you can find it its very expensive. Gary loves toasted hemp seeds as a snack, and the kids drink hemp protien shakes since they don't eat much meat any more.
Last year, Scott brought a bag of hemp seeds to school-- plain as day on the bag says it has no THC, even though it is *hemp seeds*-- and the school confiscated it, called us up to tell us it was not allowed in the school and I had to go pick it up from the office. They even called poison control about it! Yes. Seriously crazy.*eye roll*
(yet two kids were having sex in the bathroom the other day which kind of tells me they should not be focusing on hemp seeds!!!)

Anyway-- I am so glad that you found something to help your blood sugar and that is really so healthy for you. My family is very pro-industrial help so it really amazes me how much of an issue it is here in the US and I love to hear how other countries handle it.
Stay warm today!!!

Love to you all!!!!

Morning ladies... chilly here this morning too!! Heat pump is going and it looks to be another sunny day! Yesterday, my DS came home and brought his good friend Dan with him, we had a lot of laughs and talked about our crazy family members, his are just as nuts as ours!! LOL He is a Military mate of our son's and is posted in Winnipeg, he is also an amazing photographer and was showing me his fabulous lenses and giving me some tips (none of which I will remember I'm sure) He uses the same Cannon Camera as me but with his huge lens it was really hard for me to hold the camera still to get a good shot. Guess I need to build some upper body strength LOL. My MG, DS and Dan all went to a hockey game last night and then we all played a game of trivial pursuit, more laughs and the old people kicked butt at the game! :becky:

Today I am hoping to get my photos finished and sent away to be printed, go half of them done yesterday.

LindaS - Oh my you are up early girl!! Hope you get to catch a nap sometime today!!

Laurie - Hope you get your tulips planted! Have fun practicing your dance routine and good luck with the renos that you are doing today!

Eva - Hope your visit with your Dad is nice! I have not seen the movies you are talking about, but will have to make sure I see the Swedish ones for sure. How is your son doing with his new exercise plan? Have a nice relaxing day!

Phylis- Your laundry room sounds like the one I used to have when I lived in our first home in Saskatchewan, lots of spiders to keep me company :scared: I hated doing laundry!!! Hope you don't have to spend too much time down there!

Jen - Wow how cold is it at your place today?? Sorry you can't be in the hot tub, but a small sacrifice to make right? What kind of scenty candles do you have?? Do you get the Partylite ones? Those are my favourites! Did you get anything made with those gigantic beets of yours? How great that the hemp is helping with your blood levels!! Have a fun day baking!!

Chris - Enjoy your weekend, hope you don't have to be in the car too much today! Perhaps you will be able to find a good deal on a humidifier, you are right the next one will never last that long, everything now a days is only meant to last for a while and then throw it away, because you won't be able to get parts for it either!! :mmph:

Well besides going through the rest of my photos, I really want to get some scrapping done today, wish me luck because my mojo is still on vacation!!

Eva - Hope your visit with your Dad is nice! I have not seen the movies you are talking about, but will have to make sure I see the Swedish ones for sure. How is your son doing with his new exercise plan? Have a nice relaxing day!

Dad was sleeping when we got there - really hard, so we decided to let him sleep, and went home instead.

John's starting the exercise on Monday - and he's actually looking forward to it! :faint:

We got some serious shopping done though. Bought a new chair for me to have here by the puter. Any week now I'll get it out of the box ;) And lots of this and that - new shoes for DH, a rug for John's room, and proper cognac glasses.

Well GEEZ LOUIS CHRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why on earth would they put up a fuss about hemp seed????????????????????? It's a all natural product. Yes it's expensive, but wow the health benefits! They use them also for children with ADD!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here in Canada you can buy them anywhere, never heard of anyone freaking out about hemp seed! Craziness I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do think the rules about POT in general in Canada are alot more lax than in the States, but still, hemp seed has no THC in it so what's the big deal? Now the kids doing the hanky panky in the bathroom, would get a spanky spanky FROM SOMEONE I Would HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Crap that's disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and I just want to say I'm in love with Studio 68!!!!!!!!!!! Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the stuff, the brushes, BE STILL MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, back from dance and shopping- I am going to plant the tulips, turn up the hot tub, put some wonderful red ipocras wine on the candle warmer, do laundry, scrap, putter in the basement and make french onion soup- in no particular order!

Good afternoon, everybody! This weekend, I am doing HOMEWORK. I got behind this week with my my parents here the first couple of days, and then doc's appts and procedures the rest of it. For Web Graphic Design, I had to make a counter top with a coffee cup, a plate of cookies, and a laptop computer. I had to DRAW THIS IN ILLUSTRATOR. With lighting, and perspective, etc. I was a-goin' crazy. But now, for better or for worse, I'm done. Hoping I did a good job. It all looks a little weird for me, especially the cookies. LOL

Anyway, tomorrow I have to do my essay questions for my Business class, and then I'm done and I can design again.

I'm thinking of doing some art journaling stuff on my blog. I want to do some kind of dark writing prompts for the dark season. Is anybody game for that?

Good evening ladies! After the soccer game, we had breakfast out. Then took my diamond tennis bracelet to get it repaired. Came home for a nap and slept 2 hours! Had frozen pizza for supper. And now thinking that I can do a little scrapping...or at least looking through the gallery at all of the gorgeous stuff.

I want to get a few tulip and daffodil bulbs in Laurie. Maybe I can squeeze that into tomorrow's schedule!

Andrea, so glad that the tests are coming out well. What a relief for you! And glad that you got your homework done!

Trudy, it sounds like you had a great time with your son and his friend. And love to hear the story of the lenses.

I love my new laundry room. It is right off the kitchen and has storage cabinets. The kids hang backpacks on hooks when they get home. And it even has a nice big window to let in sunlight. Someday, I'm going to repaint and put word art up. But for now, just glad that it serves as a mud room as well as a laundry room.

Trudy, i loved your story about the visit with your son and friend. it made me happy!

Jackson Rathbone. Eva, oh YESSS!!! on another subject, i keep meaning to ask you whether anyone in Sweden is watching "Wallander." it's a Brit-made detective show with Kenneth Branagh starring as a troubled Swedish detective. Filmed in Sweden. it's strangely compelling. he's a sort of mess. like watching a train wreck.

Laurie, don't the critters eat your spring bulbs? i stopped planting them because the chipmunks and squirrels and raccoons and moles kept finding them.

Andrea, i am SO for Art Journal and dark writing prompts!! hope you do some.

Linda, if you saw my laundry room, you would first LAUGH, then you would run back upstairs. i have managed to control the spiders, though, Trudy. i have these little sticky traps all over the place down there. i catch all manner of things.... best not to think about it. :fear:

OK. today. well, first thing is to wait for the SKYPE call from the Grandmen and family. then i don't know what. i think i'll have a go at the AnnaLift for this week later. and of course, there's always thinking abut what to cook for dinner. sigh.... Linda's frozen pizza sounds like the best idea i've heard all day.

enjoy everything today. or TRY to!

Hi ladies....a busy day for me yesterday...

Jesse had a soccer game and I bartered the cost of him playing to take the team photos, so that was yesterday....WOW...4, 5, and 6 year olds are not so easy to get lined up. LOL!! It wasn't anything fancy....no individual photos either...I think she has a small copy printed for all the parents at the end...plus she uses them in their newletters and facebook for advertising.

I came home and folded laundry and tried to keep my eyes open...these new meds are taking me a while to get used to....I am so sleepy!! all the time! different from being TIRED...just SLEEEEEEEEPY!! Sharon picked up Jaiden and she took the girls to Farm day at a nearby creamery....animals, milk the cows..hayrides..FUN STUFF...and I took the boys to the see the movie....THEY LOVED IT!!! It was good....but not quite as good as the previews....but as long as the boys were good..I was okay....and BTW...IT COST ME $44!! AACCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel so robbed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that includes the popcorn...but still!!!!

Afterwards we all met back at my Mom's for a nice visit...the girls were wiped out...we came home and Jaiden was in bed at 7...

A successful Saturday..............today I am off to a baby shower....by myself...:jaw:
I really don't care to go, but it gets me away from the house and kids for a few hours...and I get to see my SIL...whom I dearly love!!! (not the crazy bitch my brother is married to....Mike's sister)

Oh and................................don't hit me.............but we started discussions yesterday for family Christmas get togethers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ACCKKKKKKKK!! PLANNING CHRISTMAS ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really am trying to get everyone together at one time....so I have proposed a multi family gathering at my Mom's church....All of my family, all of Mike's family and Sharon's in-laws. I think that would be awesome...everyone can cook something and no one has to do so much work.

Okay....I have babbled on enough...................

Oooo...Christmas plans already! But it is going to be here before we know it! Sounds like you had a good day...with the exception of the extortion that takes place at the ticket counter for movies! I bet that the girls loved their time at the farm.

Not too much going on here. Still trying to clean up my office. I have all of these piles! Good grief! I need a secretary! Or to stop being a pack rat!

I am all signed up for Jana Morton's Blending & Beyond class so watch for improvements in my scrapping. And I signed up for an online photography class as well. LOL

So close to 55, definitely in a self improvement phase!

Good morning!!!

Linda S-- so jealous (in a happy way) that you are signed up for those classes! Enjoy every minute of them and while I already think that you are an amazing scrapper, I can't wait to see your new skills!

Nana-As scary as it sounds, its a good thing to plan ahead for Christmas. The way time is flying by, it will be here before we know it. (i am scaring myself now!)
I saw some of the pics on FB and it looked to be a wonderful day! Enjoy the shower as best as you can.

Phyllis- Best thing we ever did, after the huge attic was move the laundry room out of the basement too, when we did the addition. Ick, I hated hated hated it! Dark and damp and buggy- do you get cave crickets down there too? My cats think they are the neatest yummiest things ever, But yuck!!!!

Andrea- I am trying to start blogging more regularly- would love some cool prompts!

Jen-- it is soooo ridiculous. I know- hemp seeds, confiscated, SMH......
Saw your page with Studio 68's kit-- wow!!!!!!!

Trudy-- yay for good times with your son and his friend!!!!

Eva-- lots of good thoughts for John tomorrow!!

I have seen one of the Wallander movies with Kenneth Branagh. I thought it just was weird LOL Just hearing them trying to pronounce Swedish cities LOL Also, we have Swedish movies made with Wallander and Rolf Lassgård who plays Wallander is "the right" Wallander LOL

If you like Wallander check out the books - much better than the movies :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurt_Wallander

Wooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I woke up this morning to a GSO fingerpointing for my page with Studio 68!!!!!!!!!! I was just trying to be funny when I wrote Hand's off... LOL, backfired on me ppl takin that very seriously LOL LOL LOL but wow what a honor and a Huge thanks to Studio 68!!!!!!!!!

Also when I tested my blood sugar this morning it was the lowest ever and I don't get it cuz I totally went all out last night, I ate chips, ice cream and cookies and I stole some candies from the stash for church!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!! I figured my appt with the diatriction is next week and on Monday I have to write everything down to show them, so I figured the least I could do was give the baby something to get fat on quick... so why on earth did my blood test lower than usual?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I DON"T UNDERSTAND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <maybe I should eat junk every night? hee hee

Andrea, have fun with your homework this weekend... actually doesn't sound like fun, sounds Awesome!!!!!!!!!

LindaS please come help me organise my laundry room! My room is huge but such a unorganized disaster :(

Linda Nana!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Christmas? Seriously? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I should be having my baby by Christmas time and I am so not ready for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How on earth will I manage to get everything done? I don't know, next week I'm busy but the week after my goal is to get everything baby ready! Someone please remind me... I'll probably put it off till last min. Just Once out of 10 times I would like to have everything done, and I didn't even with my first cuz I worked right up till I had him. Not once have I been prepared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LindaS your blending class sounds fabulous! Cant wait to see what you've learned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris I can't find what you are doing today, so have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jen, beware of fasting morning blood sugar readings. they are the WEIRDEST of the day!! at least they are for me. they're related to NOTHING, it seems, except maybe the quality of the SLEEP you got! see what's happening to your reading 2 hours after you eat. that tells more than anything about what's going on when you eat. sorry to be a Bossy Diabetic. but i've looked at this thing from about 1,000 angles. it truly IS SO WEIRD! absolutely take DATA to the dietician, so she can see what's happening with your readings throughout the day. the morning reading is often just CRAP for data that means anything. and congrats on your GSO!! i saw that this morning. great page!

Eva, i bought one of the original Swedish Wallander videos on iTunes and couldn't get into it. probably because i saw the Branagh one first. i'll have to look into the books, although i having MEGA trouble reading these days. i keep falling asleep when i try to read.

Nana, after last Christmas, i announced that i am not hosting Christmas here again. i've been doing it every year but 3 since my MIL passed away in the early '90s. and i'm getting sick and tired of stupid, unkind people doing things TO me as i try to pull this dinner off, instead of doing things FOR me. so. we'll see how it goes. i'm pretty sure no one else will pick up the slack. and, the way things go for me, even if someone else in the family DOES decide to do Christmas Dinner at their house, they'll decide to do it just for THEIR kids and grandkids and not invite MY family, even though i've been feeding ALL OF THEM for almost 20 years at Christmas.

Phylis YOU ARE SUCH A DOWNER!!!!!!!!! Giggles no... Actually you are very helpful!!!!!! During the day all my levels are very low 2 hours after a meal it's only the morning one that ever goes high!!!!! Last time with Noah they kept making me up the insulin cuz no matter what I did the levels were high in the morning. I tried to tell them I don't need insulin and every time after I injected the baby moved less and less. So no matter what I WILL NOT TAKE INSULIN for those darn morning readings. They can suck it for all I care. My body my choice !!!!!!!! Especially since all my readings are low during the day !!!!!!!

So it is Sunday, I have been to church, I have made breakfast for my hubby and me, and I have done my workout! It is cloudy here- there is an old grey barn with vines with reddish leaves climbing up it, I simply must get out to take photos. I plan on cooking and baking today- mashed potatoes, french onion soup, apple crisp- for two and MMG will make the meatloaf! Loving this sunday!

Morning everyone... Off to church this morning, no I am not usually a church going person, but MIL's church is closing its doors after today, so we want to be there for her. Then up to the In-Law's for Thanksgiving dinner. Should be a day filled with lots of tears for my poor MIL as the church has been such a big part of her life! She finds any kind of change really hard to deal with so this is going to be very difficult for her!! Oh well at least my DS will be there too and I am very Thankful for that!! It's late and I have to get going so I will just say Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends and I hope that everyone else has a wonderful Sunday that is filled with things to be thankful for!!
