I know, I know... what the heck is going on, where is Chris?? Well its 5:00am here and I have been awake since about 3:30 so I thought what the heck I may as well start this thread. So Good Morning everyone :eek:hwell:. What the heck am I doing up this early in the morning?? Good question, I sure wish I was sleeping  but my mind won't let me. So I figured may as well get up and do something. And we have the big party tonight so I know I have to get back to bed sometime this morning or I will crash and burn tonight!! I had a good time at our employee shopping night last night and got some Christmas shopping done. Now I really have to get going on my calendars that I make for my kids each year. So I am off to get working on those. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

I think Chris must be sleeping in...

Trudy I hope you have a great party tonight.

I'm off to work at the scrapbook garage sale - I volunteer and I get to see old friends who are still paper scrapbooking.... can't seem to get them to switch ... they will some day..they just aren't ready yet....

Then to pick up pecan pies and out to dinner tonight - I'll be back in the basement working tomorrow. I lost my camera yesterday - I think I got pick pocketed because my camera has never fell out of my pocket before - I feel like part of my heart is missing ... going to try to wait til Friday to get a new one ie black Friday should be able to get a good one with a good price .... so I guess I'll be checking them out this week but I loved my little pink canon.... See you ladies on Monday have fun til then my plans to scrap got changed....

Frani - we must have been typing at the same time - good luck getting it all done ! Later today when I have time for chores - I'll wonder if you got the errands done.... Christmas presents ....hint hint .... gift cards.... attached to their favorite treats...easy to wrap and always the right color - green cash always works if you get to give in person ... no stress .... I bought boxes that you don't have to wrap that nest inside one another .... hides the cards .... no one has a clue! 50 1$ bills is always a big laugh even when attached to socks... socks in 02 ..03..04 etc you can even get creative nd throw in the ad for their favorite store more bang for your buck the day after.... there's always the stupid gift trick that you know will get returned !

Morning to you early birds!

Yikes ladies, you're wearing me out just reading your lists! Fortunately, we're going out to dinner on Thanksgiving. I'd be glad to cook but it's just us two and his mid40s daughter who's a vegetarian. We've learned it's easier to just let her order her fish and ask about every item than to try to make her happy at home. Sadly, make her happy period. We usually share Tday with my son and family, and that way the grumpy ones get blended in a lot more easily! However our VA family is going north over the holidays, combining college visits along the way. Dgs is a junior in hs!

Nothing special planned for today. We leave the ocean on Tuesday morning so I have my walks and he has his bicycling. Reading and a bit of scrapping. A perfect vacation.

I believe in the versatility of cash....;>) The adult kids will get money, they have everything so this has been the tradition for the last 5 yrs or so....no stress there. Today we are finishing up shopping for the grandkids and some misc. items to have on hand for last minute gift giving.

I love your ideas, might try that as a "surprise" money gift this year.

Hey Maureen, there is always a grumpy one in the group, usually my DH....although he did behave himself last year and I had the meltdown.

I love the going out and getting our meal for Thanksgiving, but the kids are watching there pennies, so that is out.

Well, I didn't wake up early today - clock said 11.18 when I opened my eyes this morning! Right now I'm making cinnamon rolls. My little teenage monster has his 14th birthday on Monday. I need to have something for the guests. The monster himself has declared all he wants is tacos. Not serving that to the guests LOL

You know I am reading all this stuff about Thanksgiving and thinking, why are they all talking about Thanksgiving so soon, then realize it's this week!!

Hubby takes care of all food plans but I need to clean the big house big time today! What was I thinking sleeping in to 6:30 :)

Be sure to all take some "you" time this weekend...it gets so stressful for those that are up early and trying to do to much...yes, you, you know who I mean :)

Have a great weekend ladies!

LOOKS IKE i GOT IN HERE IN TIME FOR CINNAMON ROLLS!!!!!!!!
oops, Caps lock was on, but that's ok, I was shouting with joy! Yummy yummy Eva!!!!!!

I was at my brother's last night babysitting. he is just under an hour from here, so rather than drive home late at night, they invite me to sleep over and have b-fast with them and my darlin' baby.
Poor little dude got a cold... he was getting a runny nose around dinner time, but woke up an hour or so after his bedtime and cried and cried and wiped his boogie nose all over Aunt Chris. I forgot how helpless you feel when a baby cried like that and you can't make them feel better.

Ii got back home around lunch and then spent the next several hours raking more leaves and cutting back all of the dead flowers. But here I am with some coffee to warm me up-- Catzilla is here.....yay rah. She says "RAWR" (Shouldn't that be meow? :?)

Trudy-- oooh, did you had fun shopping? What goodies did you get? Hope you got your nap!

Oh FRAN!!! good luck getting all of that done. Wish I lived closer and I could come and help. I am in denial about my next several weeks' schedule too, si I know where you are coming from. Pace yourself and drink coffee, especially you can get your hands on some of Eva's cinn. rolls *drools*

*drools some more* I adore pecan pir Debbie- everyone os making me :hungry: today ;)
That is funny about your paste-eater friends LOL!! MIL asked me yesterday about some paper cutter/die cutter device and I told her I didn't know anyone who paper scrapped any more.
That is horrible about your camera, any luck finding it anywhere??

Hi Maureen and Laurie!

Good luck with Addie's party today Clara!

Happy B-day to your DS Eva!!! Tacos-- oh man... that 's like the year that we asked Caitlyn where she wanted to go for her b-day dinner and she said McDonald's Yuck!!!

Eva, that IS sugar on top isn't it??? It's just that salted everything has almost overstayed its welcome as a trend imho.

Yes, that means that I thought there was too much salt on my salted caramel latter yesterday. Tomorrow is the last day to 'buy one get one free' from 2-5pm. This is for the 3 special seasonal lattes -salted caramel, peppermint and gingerbread.

Oh, I've finally stopped by and, after seeing those cinnamon rolls, I'm so glad I did!! Too bad you can't ship some LOL.

Well, all this talk of Thanksgiving means little to me :) We had Thanksgiving back in October here in Canada so we just have Christmas to prepare for. Though, this weekend coming up for us is really busy but that's OK.

Good luck to all of you trying to get that cleaning and prep, done, though! Take a deep breath and try to enjoy your weekend, too!

Today was very relaxing...I did very little and had a nap...that might make up for the most of the night DS was up a couple nights ago!

Have a good evening all!

Oh, I've just payed for a one-year subscription to a genealogy site. Now I can research from home, and won't have to go to the library to do that. And I can just add everything I find directly to my genealogy program, and won't have to take notes at the library, and then put it into the program when I get home. So ... if you don't hear from me - I might be somewhere in the 16th or 17th century :D

Good morning and happy sunday! We had a nice family night- My brother gave me $$ to order pizzas for dinner- we order some really yummy sandwiches, and Scott got an enormous calzone-- it was 4 lbs! Yes, he weighed it ate half of it and weighed himself- and he was 2.7 lbs heavier.

We watched Harry potter 6, and soon we'll watch 7 (first half). I am asking for HP 7.5 for C-mas, so we have been re-watching them all again. I love the books and movies so much. I know I am going to be bawling my eyes out at the end.....

Not much going on at home, Gary has some football and I have house stuff. Plus I want to scrap, of course *wink*

WHat are all of you doing today?

I bought HP 7.2 on Wednesday ... it was the release day. Need to see the first part again ... and we might end up with watching them all in a row. The movies aren't as good as the books ... but they never are, are they? (Always an exception from the rule though - in this case the Twilight movies - far better than the books LOL)

Best part ... I can watch 8 movies in a row - drooling over Alan Rickman

Oh, and today: made 2 sponge cakes - I have a birthday boy tomorrow. Watched the cross-country skiing world cup on TV. Love that ... and I got some knitting done on DHs sweater. Finished the back and started on the front. Dinner was left overs - my favorite kind :) Now I need to iron a shirt or two or five for DH. Hard being a house wife :)

Hey girlies!!! I'm sorry I've been a bit silent here this week and weekend...my house is in an uproar and my laptop doesn't have wireless for some strange reason. I'm about to blog before/hoarders pics of my house on my blog!! ugh!! it's such a mess...soooo crazy. I'm supposed to be folding clothes and organizing stuff in my room before they empty it tomorrow. I did not really sleep last night. I woke up at 3:30...I usually do to use the nice facilities...but our toilet is not hooked up right now!! eeeek!! So I had to walk through the house to get to the guest bathroom and that just woke me up. So I tossed and turned and then got my iPad out at 4:30am. I checked everything, posted the list for music for this morning, then tried to go back to sleep. And when that alarm went off this morning, I was not really alive to the world. I'm staying up much later tonight so that I can actually sleep all night!!

Okay, really, I need to blog then clean/organize!!

love you all!!! I'll be here tomorrow morning to cheer you on in a Monday sort of way!! ♥
