Boy, I hate writing those dates...really is the end of 2012. Where did Y2K go?

Need to get our tree down and drug out of the house today. We had snow all day yesterday...very light but on top of what we have...yuck! Just peeked out the office window and it looks like it has stopped overnight.

What is on the docket for all of you today? I am cleaning my office. STILL! I obviously get easily distracted.

Hi O-zie-O-Fam!

Thanks for putting up with my grumbles yesterday. I hate feeling so overwhelmed and discombobulated and worn down. I think b/c I kept saying if I could past Christmas, I would feel better, but stuff kept coming. I opted out of goign food shopping until Monday. Whatever, yannow? But I think not having to be anywhere or do anything specific today will help. I hope so!

Linda S-- seriously, where did 2012 go? This has to have been the fastest year ever. Not sorry to see it go, for sure heh. :D
All I can hope for is a calmer year in 2013!

Snow should be starting here in a bit. I am now hearing everything from 1-3" to 3-6" to 4-8". Can we get no inches? Sunshine and 70* temps??

Hope you all have a terrific day!!!

Morning "O" ladies... Up early and hope to get all my grocery shopping done today, it should be a madhouse at the Safeway today!! I am hoping to get a turkey on sale, I miss having the leftovers and did not get much in the way of turkey over Christmas. I loves turkey!!! No more :smow: here anymore and I really hope it stays that way! We are actually supposed to see some sunshine here over the next week, so hooray!!! I haven't seen the sun in ages.

LindaS- I know where did the year go to??? Oh well I keep hoping that 2013 will be a great year, not that 2012 was bad or anything, but it was a year of loss for my family and I sure hope this year we can get through it without any more of that!! Good for you getting your tree down and out of the house, I hate that some people leave their trees up until way into January, I for one can't wait to get my house back to normal and get all the Christmas stuff put away. I know I'm a scrooge LOL.

Chris - Hope that the snow decides to miss your area! Are you feeding your family crackers for dinner tonight LOL Perhaps a day of staying at home and just relaxing will do your soul some good and you can get past your grumbles!! Have a great day of rest!!

Well MG is wanting some breakfast and so am I, so I will get going and hope to spend sometime back here this afternoon. After I get my hair done that is. I can hardly wait to get this mop cut and get rid of the grey again!!

it's been snowing here since at least 4 a.m. ( when i woke up,) they told us 2-4 inches, and by 5 we had at least 3. it's still going strong at 11.... Chris, hope your part of this isn't as BIG! it's always grim when the storm is coming up from the Gulf. loaded with moisture. i like the nice storms from Canada better!

doing a lot of nothing. made it to grocery store yesterday. no snow. it was great. there was no one there! all i'm doing is occasionally checking in on the computer, laundry, vacuuming. today the Christmas stuff gets put away, since hubby is home and he can HELP. i have to empty my doggone closet out again to get at the cubbyhole where the decos go.

hope everyone has a few easy days to regroup after Christmas. take it slow and easy. demand your little slice of Peace on Earth!

Afternoon O fam- dance lessons this morning followed by mini grocery shop with my husband- the rest of the day- I am painting the cabinets so they can get hung on the wall, even if I do not have the doors done. Plus I must do laundry and maybe play some.

good afternoon - the snow has mostly stopped - it is so pretty but it did not even cover the grass. They said the storm would be fast moving and I guess it was. But the snow brought a plethora of birds - I love the word plethora LOL - to my backyard feeder - I had my usual birds but today I had a flock of red-winged blackbirds, morning doves, and robins and starlings. Dont know what robins are still doing here in the winter? Tomorrow is the annual Audubon Christmas bird count. It will be cold but should be so pretty. Hope to see a lot of birds but with the snow I dont know.

Trudy - I love my Ford Escape she is a 2013 model and this year the Escape has been completely remodeled. It has had recalls but my son, a Ford mechanic, says most new models do. He said the Ford Edge is an awesome car but it was too big for me. As I said I love the Escape and would not trade it. My feeling is that any new car with all the new electronics they have might have problems LOL.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Nancy,
Hope you have a wonderful count tomorrow. Ours was last Saturday and I thought we had nearly ideal conditions for the area we count: just below freezing (no mud), light snow cover (concentrates birds at food sources) and NO precipitation. I had never had to really think about wind, but it was windy that day. Somehow we must have managed to stay out of it mostly and had a great count.

About American Robins, here in northern Ohio there are always robins in winter where there is food, like fruit trees. We counted 228 just in our part of the count circle. Nothing like summer, but they are here.

For all the rest of our wonderful O-family, hope you are surviving whatever winter has come your way.

I too will be taking the tree down tomorrow. It's a bittersweet thing. I can't complain about the wonderful holidays I've had so far , so relaxing. I am totally in love with my Nate Berkus book, it is so me and the most perfect gift I could have received!!! I already changed some things around in my house and pulled momentous out of storage!!

Good morning - up early watching USA vs Canada. Already the Canadians are up 2-0. It is such fun watching. Then off to count birds. Temp is 31 but with windchill is feels like just 18 F. I hope the high winds dont keep the birds away.

Jean - we do a lot of our count in a wooded park so maybe that will keep the wind away and will yes not mud too cold.

Got a lot of scrapping done so that was good. It was beautiful with the snow!

Have a great day!

yikes! MORE snow overnight! i heard the plow go up my street at 5 a.m. we need a nice, sunny day that melts everything off the roads and leaves the landscape lovely.

all the Christmas decos are gone into storage for another year. Heather, i always feel RELIEVED when they're gone, for some reason. i like getting back to "normal." whatever that means....

another day in the house. i have to think of a big, satisfying job to do. i think i'll go through my clothes and reduce the number by half. as i emptied out my closet to put the Christmas decorations away, i thought to myself: who really needs 15 pairs of blue jeans???

have a happy, productive day!

Hello my friends!
Cold and snowy here too! It is going to be a PITA to shovel it out. The snow that we had on Wed turned to ice all on the bottom with 3-4" of crusty crud on top. Then we got another 6 inches yesterday. :hurt:
My poor doggy kept trying to find a nice potty spot but then would fall through the crust. Poor thing couldn't get settled to sniff and pee!!

I am so jealous of all of you who put your Christmas decorations away. I usually do mine after the new year but I am so tired of the clutter.

Hope you have a great day!

Good morning ladies! It is 12 degrees here...so very cold! However, it is going to get to 36 today...which is the only day that it will be above freezing for the week!

I'm sitting here enjoying the peace and quiet with a cup of coffee. The sunrise is beautiful...pink and lavendar skies. I would take a picture but my camera is in the bedroom and I don't want to wake Brian.

We had a sleepover for my niece's basketball team. Some of them were out of town but there were six noisy 7th grade girls. They stayed in the basement...which is unfinished but has a big screen tv and sofa, along with an arcade basketball hoop. Some day we will finish dry wall and get carpet, etc.

I went to bed at 10. I went upstairs to sleep with Sydney which muted the noise some. I woke up at 12:30 to screeches and giggles but when I woke at 2:30, it was quiet.

Came to the kitchen and found six of the eighteen cake balls remaining. The cookies are about half gone and there were six bowls stacked neatly in the sink where they had made homemade ice cream sundaes. They are each being picked up at 10 so sometime before that I will make breakfast.

Then off on a quick run to Target to buy a Ken doll for a birthday gift. Sydney has a sledding birthday party to attend...thank goodness the weather is going to warm up some. Take Syd to the party from noon to 3. Then pick her up for basketball practice from 4 to 5:30. Then back home to interview a candidate for a summer nanny job.

And that is my relaxing Sunday.:D

Jean, can't believe that you keep robins through the winter. How cool is that!

Phylis, laughing about the 13 pair of jeans. Why do we do that?

Heather, I need to check out the Nate Berkus book.

Laurie, my word came to me and it totally stuck. DAILY Watch for more.

And Nancy, how do you draw all of those birds to your feeders? We moved into a new house in August and my feeders are getting nothing but sparrows. I've got sunflower seeds but not a cardinal in sight. We have several evergreen trees and one other tree in the yard...plus lots of bushes in front of the bedroom windows but I'm getting nothing. (It is a newer neighborhood so not a lot of large trees.)

Chris, it is so much work to put everything back...and not nearly as much fun! We still need to get the lights off the trees in the front yard and bring in the inflatable. Since today is supposed to hit 36, I think that today is the day!

Trudy, did you get your grocery shopping done? I did mine yesterday morning and the store was almost empty...no idea why...but definitely a pleasant surprise!

Morning ladies... cool here today, but OMG I slept until 9am!!! Gave MG heck for not waking me up, but all he said was well you must have needed it! Guess I did, but I know I will pay for it tonight. Back to work tomorrow for a short shift and then the end of this year already. :hurt: I can't believe this year is ending already!!

Nancy - Sounds like our goalie was stellar in goal today!! 36 saves against your USA team, will have to watch it again this afternoon on TSN as I was sleeping in late today.

Chris - Ugghhh on the icy snow! Poor puppy, how's a guy supposed to pee in that?? LOL hope it warms up and melts it all away for you!

Phyllis - 16 pairs of jeans??? I think I own 2, but I do own quite a few pairs of black yoga pants, so I guess that's kinda silly too isn't it! Glad that you have gotten your house back to normal, I am going to start working on mine today also. You will have to show us a picture of your pretty snowfall, it is very wet and green here and that's ok by me :becky:

LindaS - My goodness, it sounds like you had a noisey housefull last night! Bet they had lots of fun and now a busy day of running around for you today. Hope you get some relaxing you time today sometime and good luck with the interview for a nanny! Enjoy the day!!

Well I better get into the shower finally and get on with all of my cleaning and putting away of Christmas decor. Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! Anyone have any exciting New Years Eve Plans? I think we are just staying home again this year, its too expensive to go anywhere and I doubt that we will even stay awake long enough to see midnight. Wow aren't we an exciting couple?? LOL

I'm still sorting digiscrap supplies. Can I just say that digi scrapping must be the worst hobby for a person with severe hoarding problems LOL I cannot believe I'll ever need more digi supplies. Not that that will stop me from getting more, though LOL At least I know I have enough already, right?

Spent so much time by the puter lately, and I'll be sitting here til late night today, but when I turn off the puter today ... I won't turn it on for a week. I usually take one computer free week every year, but I think I forgot that 2012. So, I'll start 2013 that way. I will read, write, knit and relax. Just so you all know when you start missing me on Tuesday LOL

Happy New Year everyone!

Eva and Laurie - I hope your industry in sorting whether paper or digital will inspire me! I'm impressed in any event.

I LOVE Christmas decorations and looking at all my lovely O-fam cards. Ours don't go away until after 12th night (Jan. 5). But then we don't have a tree. :bump2:

I'm ready for all this snow to stop and melt. But it's just going to get colder.

Swedish tradition is to keep the Christmas decorations up until "Tjugondag Knut" - that is Jan 13.
