Wake Up, Wake Up everyone!! Are you all still asleep  ?? Not very often that I am the first one here in the chatter forum and have to open it up!
Not much happening here today, got some exciting news last night, but have to wait to share with you later. (thats not nice I know) :heh: Just not sure I am ready to share yet. It is very foggy and drizzly here this morning and the only thing on my agenda is to get a few groceries and some paint for my hubby to start painting the dining room. Of course I will be scrapping a bit and I really have to get my brother's calendar done before he leaves next weekend. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and I will be back here later to share my news with you.

News??? I need some happy news!!!!

Spill it Ms. T!!! :D

I am fine over here, just feeling tired and achy and headache-y and all the rest. I have been super-busy trying to get ready for Hurricane Sandy. Please oh please let my town make it through with no power outages this time! Gary called around to see if any stores had generators, and everyone was sold out. Just as well, there is no gas left in town either. I collected all of our flashlights, candles and matches. We have water, bread, hard boiled eggs, and I made a double batch of banana bread. I cleaned out my freezers and found lots of black bananas, so I figured banana bread is a perfect meal if we lost our stove.
mm mmmm, banana bread is good anytime really.
I also found some chicken bones and have a huge pot of stock on for soup tomorrow night and made some chicken salad with leftover chicken from last night's dinner. We def. won't starve.

Nana- how are you doing? I saw on the weather map that snow might be in the mountains in Va. Hope that you are far enough away from that-- looked like the Roanoke area was to the east of the cold line but my fingers are crossed tight for you.

To all of you in the Mid-At;antic region- stay safe and dry :rain:

wow, i'm late checking in! my day was foggy and drizzly and boring. feeling kinda sick all day. was up way too early again. 4:00. i flipped over in bed and something pulled in my stomach. .i.t HURT! :hurt: this as happened to me a few times over the last few months. no idea what it is. but it absolutely wakes me up in an unpleasant way. more annoying crap. oh, joy.

Chris, sounds like you're prepared for what may come! hope the power stays on. i think all we're going to get is rain. snow to the south and east of us. maybe.

Trudy, love to hear about good news! can't wait to hear what it is!

Laurie, i have never been on Pinterest, for just that reason!

watching some Notre Dame football at the moment. hope they win. my hubby is a lot happier when they do.

hope your Saturday was a good one!

Happy Sunday. Its the calm before the storm, literally......;) I just have to do a few more things in case we lose power, like catch up on all laundry and run the dishwasher. Everything else should be pretty good to go.
As of right now the south part of NJ is going to get it worse than us, but the storm is enormous!
And my thoughts are going out to our BC Canada friends. Trudy, Heather are you near there?
So far I haven't been able to find out too much about the effects on CA, all the US news is talking about is the tsunami in Hawaii.

I am not a believer in End Times nor any Mayan prophecy personally, but it makes me wonder why the world seems to be going into hell in a hand basket, right? ;)

I hope to catch up on a lot of scrapping today, since I don't know if I'll be online much of the week. I hope that does not happen.

Hope all of you have happy, healthy and pain free days

Chris....No snow in valley....but yes....but up in the mountains there will some snow!! IN OCTOBER!! WTH???? We are going to get rain and wind gusts up to 50mph. Nothing too bad...unless one of those gusts take out a power station...

I have not felt too great the last couple of days....Mom finally is feeling a bit better so she INSISTED she keep the kids for a few hours to give me a break....so I took them over (MADE HER PINKY SWEAR SHE WOULD CALL IF SHE GOT TO FEELING BAD) and I came home and slept for 3 hours....yep...that says I wasn't feeling well...seem to feel better today...just a bit of that "worn out" feeling. Mike is going to shoot his guns today....gun season starts tomorrow....and the kids are watching movies right now. I need to scrap...but I HAVE NO MOJO!! and don't let those pages fool you in the gallery...they were all made last week or before....and I struggled with everyone of those.

I need to do my washing today....I didn't do any all week long...so I have a few loads to catch up on....

jen- I can't find a link ATM that talks solely about the quake but here is one that has some info halfway down
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-20113884

From CNN:
Instead, the quake struck about 139 kilometers (86 miles) south of Masset on British Columbia's Queen Charlotte Islands. No major damage was reported.
The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning for western British Columbia from Vancouver to the southern panhandle of Alaska.
Canadians as far away as Prince Rupert, on mainland British Columbia, felt the quake.

whew!!

it's cold here! Down to 50! Now I know all you ladies in the north are cracking up right about now--but it was 95 on Thursday!

Yesterday Craig and I took my mom to the airport. She was flying out to VA to see my sisters. Since we were in the city, we took advantage of it and went to Kohl's. I had an extra 30% off coupon. Thought if I saw anything, now would be the time to buy it. So--I ended up with 2 sweaters, a new purse, athletic socks for hubby, and cologne for my son for a Christmas gift. Got it all for less than half price!

We were going to go to IHop for lunch. We have no IHop where I live--so it would be a treat. Anyway, the wait was 30 minutes. Craig said forget that and he walked next door. It was an Asian Bistro----what the heck is that? I was just hoping it wouldn't be a buffet. Turned out to be a quaint, really good Japanese restaurant. Really enjoyed it. Then we stopped by Edwin Watts--golf store. Bought Craig an early Christmas present---a new driver. Got home by 3Pm and we went golfing---he just had to try out the new driver.

Last night---work phone calls. Can you believe it. No rest!

I went to church this morning. Going to catch up on recording stuff in my checkbook---yuck. Then I am going to scrap and need to get my nails done. I'm relaxing this afternoon!

Good morning...it is still morning right!? Yes, here in Central Iowa where we have no bad weather (do we have a smiley with her fingers crossed), it is still morning for a bit.

Sorry, I've been MIA this week. Let's see...what is this week's excuse? Ah yes, woke up at 4 one morning and couldn't sleep so came upstairs to the office and decided to use the bathroom. Guess what, the toilet was leaking. Went downstairs to start making dip for a big potluck at work. It was hot and I opened the doors to the deck. About 6 I walked around to the other side of the bar and said, "Is it raining? I've let it rain in." Went to close the door and there was no rain. Looked up at the ceiling and the leak from the toilet was now falling on the floor. By this time, DH was up and went up and shut off the water. The plumber came and fortunately we found it early enough that the damages were only about $135.

Shaun and I are battling big time over homework. He is fighting me every step of the way. I'm exhausted...and this is only 4th grade.

Two nights of soccer practice, one night of basketball practice and a school concert. A 10 year celebration on Friday night for my cousin's daughter...she is a breast cancer survivor. Dad fell one day this week. The cardiologist said that my test results look good...a mild murmur but no explanation for the a fib. Bought winter coats and snow pants last night.

Long nap yesterday afternoon. Oh, and read a very good book this week...The Philanthropist's Dance. Looking at this week's schedule. No relief in sight!

((hugs)) to all of you! You keep me sane!

Hi - a busy weekend for me. My friends from work had their oldest's daughter's wedding on Sat in Maryland so we drove to that. Sandy was nice and did not ruin the wedding which was outdoors at an Audubon preserve. It was beautiful! Of course for us the over riding concern was to get home to central NJ and prepare for Sandy. The drive home was fine and fast and now I am sitting in my house just listening to the wind and waiting! I am so grateful that after Irene we got a generator so I feel safer. My town just ordered mandatory evacuation for the residents in our flood zone. I will try and check in tomorrow.

Good afternoon my "O" friends!! Yes we are all fine here on the West Coast! Never felt a darn thing, as a matter of fact hubby and I were watching the news and couldn't believe our ears when they said there was an earthquake. It was centred around Haida Qwaii in the Queen Charlotte Islands just north of Vancouver Island. Like I said we felt absolutely nothing?? Here is a link if you want to know more.http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/startl...es-b-c-coast-triggers-tsunami-fears-1.1013869
I think that Irene is going to be more of a threat than this earthquake is!!

I started telling you yesterday that I had some news, well here it is... I have mixed emotions about this news! I am going to be a grandmother again, but this time it is not my son and daughter-in-law, it is my Daughter Heather!!! I am very happy for her and Jonah!! But then again I am very concerned over how they will be able to care for a little one!! As most of you know my daughter has balance issues and is unable to walk on her own and needs the assistance of someone just to keep her balance standing up, she certainly cannot run after a child and she even has difficulties picking a baby up in her arms without losing her balance. She is very scared too, but also very happy, she loves children and always wanted many of them. But when she got sick all those dreams went out the window. MG and I have been very positive about this news with her, we certainly do not want to discourage her from having a beautiful life with a baby to love!! But I am so scared for her!! They will have many obstacles to overcome and her man is very happy and supportive, which makes it a little easier to handle. I know that her health care will provide some help for her to care for her baby. I just wish that we were not so very far away!! Ontario might as well be the other side of world!!! So there it is, my good but somewhat stressful good news. Please send out loving thoughts to my DD and her Man with hopes that this baby will be the most wonderful gift to them!!

Trudy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wonderful and joyful news!!!!!!

I hear ya on being worried, I can't imagine, and to be so far..... but its such a blessing for her and I am sure that she will be in expert hands. HMG seems like he is so good for her and will be a good partner.

Any chance that she would move back home?

So so soooo happy for you!!!

Oh Trudy- how joyful- it will work out- people who are blind can care for sighted children. - can she balance on a rolling stool, versus two feet- ie computer chair and scoot around. Only works with solid floor though. OK therapist in me came out for a moment. I finished my workout and now- MMG and I are headed to a presidential rally- the storm is bringing both republican candidates to the town where I work- I will probably never get this close to candidates ever again so I figured- great photo op. Time will tell, I am not a crowd person.

Trudy, lovely lovely news! but i so get you being worried. i'm better at the worry part than the joyful part, usually. we can't knownhow this will turn out, but sometimes people rise to the occasion in amazing ways. lets hope for that and trust that love will find a way.

no personals today. i'm wacked out and feeling uncommunicative. let me just wish everyone out East all the luck in the world with this weird storm. it sounds dreadful. we're expecting 4" of rain over the next few days. good thing i live way up on a hill. parts of Pittsburgh are sure to be under water, since we're surrounded by rivers.

well. God help us all.
