Hi all...

Well it's morning in Milano, so you will have an early wake up call from me. It has been a good trip so far with a day spent wandering Milan, and catching up on our sleep. Today we rent our car and head north to Lake Orta.

I had a text from my daughter's social worker saying that the woman she has been staying with during her cancer treatment has asked her to leave. A sadly familiar story even before the cancer. I texted back to let the socwkr know where we were and she must have been pulling an all nighter to deal with this case. Sad, sad.

Not too much time to do any personals but my love to you Trudy. Loss is always so very hard.

ciao ciao Maureen

What a wonderful way to wake up- and be greeted by our own Maureen from Italy! Someday I would love to get there and visit the places where my grandparents and my family was born. If you meet any Iantosca's chances are they are related to me :) My grandpa was born in Montefiore (no clue on spelling, I only hear about it in stories) and much of the fam us still there.
Really looking fwd to your photos!

That truly sucks about your DD, but I am sure it was just a matter of time...( Don't let it get to you, nothing is going to change that drastically while you are away.

Yesterday I was a cleaning fool. Lierally! I cleaned my house first. My SIL is coming on Saturday for Mother's Day dinner and is allergic to my cats to I was doing the crazy-clean: steam cleaned carpets, vacuumed my drapes, vac'd all of the baseboards as well as the regular stuff. Then I had lunch and cleaned for a client. Come home and finished out scrubbing Gary's tub while I took my shower. ugh. Off to clean one of the "Big Houses" today. Gotta keep my eye on the prize-- money to pay for Ray's vet appt on Monday and food for the fam ;)

Trudy, again sweetie, I am so sorry for your loss, and much love and peace sent to you and your family at this time.

Phyllis- I saw the sun briefly yesterday too!!! It looks to be really nice today and tomorrow, so awesome!
You probably know this, but I tend to think of people as "ironing novices" like me. I don't iron anything, ever, unless it is super-important and hanging it the steamy shower doesn't do the trick. A good iron makes all of the difference. I have a cheap $20 GE from Walmart. But when I iron for my MIL, she has a Rowenta. Wow!!! It makes ironing actually easy! I would never spend that much on an iron for myself, but hers is so nice.

Hope that you were able to get your house done and didn't get too overwhelmed. I have a hard time cleaning my house b/c I look at it through "professional" eyes which makes me totally overwhelmed too.

Laurie- oh yeah, YMG is a keeper!!!

xoxo

morning all- I slept in, so I think I will make today my no walk day- unless I do it after work. It is supposed to be nice out and that would be a great way to start the weekend. I never finished half of what I needed to do in real life, let alone any scrapping. Oh well. I guess I had better get moving. Boss won't like me coming to work in my robe! Hope you get sun today, where ever you are!

:hurt:Maureen, ciao! what an exotic life you lead. but so sorry to hear that your daughter has injected some more trouble into an already difficult situation. it's hard to see what will become of all this. i can't imagine how you cope with it.

Chris, i have a cheap Walmart iron! those Rowenta's KILL my hands. they all weigh a TON, imo. plus, i have a bad habit of DROPPING my iron right off the ironing board, so expensive irons are a lost cause for me. i was a Cleaning machine yesterday, too, but i only got half my house done. i don't know HOW you do what you do.

Laurie, i'm going to use the forecasted good weather to finally tackle the edging outside. hope you get your walk in later, in the sunshine.

eeep. edging. kneeling for hours. i want to run awAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! :hurt:

have a great Friday!

Morning Ladies... A beautiful sunny day today! We are heading to the city to find a new suit for MG, new outfit for me. Would rather be outside in the garden!! My Azalea bushes are all out in bloom and the Rhododendrons are almost there. It is such a pretty time of year here!! Hubby spent all day yesterday getting the Eulogy done for BIL's memorial service, hope he can make it through without breaking down  Good thing he is used to speaking in front of a crowd, but this is different and much more emotional than the topics he has covered before. Anyway off to get us breakfast and then get going.

Maureen - How nice to see you here so early in the morning!! Lucky you touring around Italy must be so beautiful!! Sorry that your daughter has put a damper on things, but don't let it ruin your time away, to you!!

Chris - You sound like you have been a cleaning fool!! I need to get so much done here also, large crowd coming on Sunday and when will I ever find the time to clean??? Hopefully later today? I could really use your expertise today!!

Laurie - Don't you hate it when you are running late!! I do it quite often! It just kinda messes with your whole day!

Phylis - I hope you have a really good kneeling board for your garden work today! Not a job that I would like to do! Hope that it goes quickly for you! Don't over do it, or you will be so stiff and sore tomorrow. Hope that the weather is great for your not so great job outside today!

Thanks everyone for your kind words over the last few days! Saturday will be the hardest for the family, but we are comforted in the knowledge that BIL is no longer in any pain! Hope everyone finds the weekend filled with sunshine and beauty!!

Just popping in for a quick hi. I've been busy all day, and now it's almost time to watch ice hockey on the TV (Sweden vs. Russia - GO SWEEEEEEEDEN!!!)

Mom & dad got an estimated price on the house that they are satisfied with - enough to pay of whats left of the mortage + buying a smaller apartment. It'll be perfect. Now - just hoping that there will be any buyers interested. Tomorrow me & my sis are going there again, and help mom sort through things, and help her make the house look good for the photos they will take for the sale. Of course mom finally got the letter about a surgery she's been waiting for for months - will happen in a couple of weeks.

Maureen - you are so close ... almost anyway. :)

Hugs to everyone!
