Oscraps

Daily Ooo's Weekend edition June 9 & 10

LaurieW

lOve the O!
It is going to be warm and sunny here- I did get the hot tub cleaned, filled and now I am working on getting the proper chemical balance in the water- likely a trip to the pool & spa store with a water sample. We take our dog to the vets this am- not sure what the outcome will be. He has been perkier since my husband got home, but still not eating except for grapes, cheese and whip cream (don't ask) After that- well not really sure. I have a list of I would like to accomplish, but that is as far as it goes- a list.

What is happening in your worlds today O family??

Laurie, i hope things work out with your dog. his diet actually sounds a lot like mine, except for the grapes.

one more day of MEEEEE before The Hubby returns home from the beach. i am SO disappointed that i didn't make more of my time this week. i did manage a visit to the museum yesterday with my camera. is it just me, or is there somethng really strange about what is considered ART? there was SO LITTLE there that moved me at all. there was even less that looked even vaguely skillful! i tend to go for sculpture. what's on canvas is often disappointing to me. (Ha! as if i could put anything at ALL on canvas. but i guess it's hman nature to "like" or NOT like something that's hanging on a wall.) i hope i get around to making some pages about the visit. i will entitle them "Thanks, Andy," in honor of our delightful local robber-baron, Andrew Carnegie, who left his mark and his money all over my city. the name of our museum is The Carnegie. for obvious reasons.

today? hmmmm. well, i know i have to water the garden. maybe i'll get the weedwhacker out and do the edging. (it takes freaking FOREVER. we have a LOT of "edge.") beyond that, dunno. my page inspiration has deserted me again. maybe part of the day will be me forcing me to sit down at the computer and TRY to make something post-worthy.

have an excellent weekend!

Morning All!

A few things on my To Do list............OK, lots on my list, but I'm realistic they won't get done today. Making some sides and dessert and headedd to BBQ today. Temps near 90, but still should be nice.

Taking my camera..........never know. I missed a great family geese shot the other night I was out walking and was so mad because the babies were out for the first time with mom and dad and all lined up perfectly as they crossed the road from one pond to the other! It was so foto-cool and I missed capturing it!

Laurie- hope your pup does well at the vet. Hope you get to your list as well and then spend some time in that hot tub too!!

Phylis- sorry your ME week flew by.........I think there is a page right there, lady! Good luck with the yard and look forward to whatever you sit down and create.

Have a nice June 9!
Donna

Laurie.....well the hot tub is ready...I am on the way  Poor doggie...but..uuhhmmm...the diet sounds like sounds like a mess waiting to happen!! OH MY!!! PUT THE LIST AWAY sweetie...and just relax and have some fun today

Donna...HAVE FUN AT THE BBQ!! and I know how you feel..I hate when I see something photo worthy and I don't have my camera.....Geese and ducks are everywhere around this town...so that is a sight we can see very often...and it still amazes me!!

Phylis....glad you got to the museum..but I hear ya on the art.....to me...Jaiden paints just as beautiful as the ones in galleries :? You know I should have come stayed with you for you ME time....I seriously believe that you and I could do a lot of damage together....and would never have to leave the house! :POUND: TALK ABOUT AN O MEETING!! :partywine how fun!!! You and I seem to have a bit of the same ideas about life!!! well opinions!!

The kids are with the lady who does the respite care...I took them over yesterday afternoon and they will be there until Sunday afternoon....the last time they were suppose to go it didn't work out....so this is the 2nd time they have been. I worry though....just my nature!!!

I am going to clean this morning...then Mike and I are off to do SOMETHING..ANYTHING!!! and WE WILL BE EATING OUT TONIGHT...not even a discussion about it.....I will ask him WHERE he wants to eat..that's it!! :hungry:

So guess who never started the picture sorting last weekend...I was so determined too....I have GOT to get this done.....I am going to have to unplug the internet to make it happen!!! my plan is to start on it tomorrow..while it's quiet here...we will see!!

Good luck Nana- I have moved my scanner to the basement, where my boxes of photos are on shelves- I am determined to burn DVD's for each son. This will happen before Christmas!

Nana- enjoy your me time

Good Morning everyone!! A bright and sunny day! It's about time, I thought we were going to have to build an ark soon if the rain did not stop!! I never did get back in here to do personals yesterday :sorry: I ended up finally getting the last of five teddy bears finished and ready to take to my Brother and SIL, they wanted them made for their five Grandaughters, it is good to have them finished and to vacuum up the last of the hair!! Today we are headed to my MG's sisters place (see recently lost her MG) to help her out with a few things that need to be done around her place, then dropping the bears off to by Brother & SIL. Other than that not much planned for the weekend.

Laurie - So does your hot tub fit more than two people ?? If so then I will be right over to join you and Nana Linda!! Hope your visit to the Vet does not bring bad news to you Laurie!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Phylis - I agree with you on the art!! My last visit to the museum they had a photography display and I was much more impressed with that then anything else that was hanging on the walls!! Hope your mojo gets working for you today! But then anything that you create always is great! I know that you don't like to :plane: so perhaps a bunch of us should come and crash at your place and have a fun "O" meeting :becky: , bet we could do some serious damage to a bottle or two or wine!! I'll bring some vodka for Nana Linda! Be careful with that weed whacker!!

Super quick post from me, gotta hit the shower and get ready to get out of here.

Caitlyn got home safe and sound, tired and cranky. Sadly that didn't for well with me who had been bitched at by Gary about buying the wrong cookies, the wrong cold cuts, being a bitch, and not nice to be around for the previous three hours, so i went in my room and hid. I waited up for her hoping she would come in and see me but she thought I was asleep. But we just had a super nice chat and catch up, and she is coming with me to babysit Christopher today. I am dropping her off at my mom's, hoping to fix my mom's computer (technology and 70 yos is not always a good mix LOL) and then she and my mom are meeting my at my brother's for dinner then Cait and I have a sleepover with the sweet darling man!

Yes, I am bringing my camera, so be prepared, more Christopher LOs will be in the gallery.

Laurie- *fingers crossed tight for good news from the vet*

Nana- enjoy your dinner!!!!

Phyllis- its interesting about art- very little speaks to me too, I am more interested in photography as art, and then onthe other extreme-- history and archtecture as art. I like the "people" part of it, not so much the visual, if that makes sense.

Donna- enjoy your BBQ! Hope to see some great photos from you too!

Side note: Last week at my brother's I got a huge compliment, whether it was mean that way or not. I was on the floor looking at Christopher on his new tricycle. My brother's BIL handed me SIL's DSLR and asked me to take the pics since I am like the professional photographer of the fam. I am so NOT a professional photog. but to be viewed that way even if in a not so serious way-- how cool!!!

Nana Linda - So a nice quiet weekend for you and your MG eh? :eyebrows: Bet you won't be getting any of that picture sorting done anytime soon! LOL hope you enjoy your supper out this evening!! Please try not to worry too much!! The kids will be fine! Just enjoy the peace and quiet!!

Well gotta get ready to head out the door, a quick breakfast and then on the road, wish I wasn't going to be missing this beautiful day! Perhaps we will fit in a walk on the Beach in Parksville before heading back home. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hi Chris  yes I did get pics and will post later on. Have a super fun day with your sweet little man!! Looking forward to lots of pics and layouts! Nice compliment from your Brother!! Always good for the soul!!

Opps Donna... sorry I missed you!! Too bad about the geese photo!! Around here the crazy geese and ducks seem to think its a good idea to nest across the street from the pond and then they have to try to cross a four lane highway to get to the water!! You should see the traffic jams when they do! Poor little ones must be terrified! Have fun at your BBQ!!

So the dog is back home with us- he had a spell at the dr office- they were expecting a goat and thought it arrived early. Vet thinks he has emphysema but thought taking x-rays would kill him due to his breathing issues, so gave him a steroid shot and we will take him back next week for xrays to ensure nothing partially lodged in throat, and see what his lungs show- mean time- he must stay indoors in AC as much as possible and no more grapes- they can be toxic to dogs. He has had the shot for an hour and he is breathing better and ate food and drank water. What a roller coaster this is. We have decided that he has advanced lung issues we will have him put down, staying in the house is not a good quality of life for him. Okay- off to scrap or something.

(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))
I have no words Laurie........... but lots of understanding hugs to you.

TRUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :spit:I WILL NEVER TELL WHAT WENT ON HERE!!!!

Have fun at your Sister's!!! and what an awesome gift on the bears!! I want to see a photo too if you took one!!!

CHRIS.....have a good time with Christopher today :) and glad your baby got home safe and sound, and hopefully BUGLESS....and yes...I would take it as a compliment on the photography!!! You take awesome photos sweetie!!!

I cleaned....showered....scrapped two pages..and now Mike and I are out the door in a few to eat....then I wanna go by the REDBOX for a movie:pop2:...and later....well....TRUDY...I AM NOT TELLING!! :becky:

For my friends in here that have known me a long time...you will understand this...

The oldest step daughter is in "full swing" again....UUGGHH!! Things have been tense again for about a year (the "patch-up" only lasted a few months)...but I have had NO TIME to deal or worry over her.....but last night...Mike saw a picture of her with Jamie's baby at Jamie's house....which means she is in town....UUGGHH!!! Mike has been really good about just letting this stuff roll off.....but it hit him hard last night.....we didn't talk about it because he was quiet...and I really don't want to upset him by giving MY OPINION ...so I am sure today is going to be really pleasant.....UUGGHH!!

WHY OH WHY DO CHILDREN HAVE TO ACT LIKE THIS!!

ADVICE TO THOSE WITHOUT KIDS: FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!! USE A CONDOM!!!!!

So after I did all the work yesterday and we went out to eat...we came home to watch a movie...have a relaxing evening together...FREAKING RUINED BY A BRATTY 32 YO!!!!

Okay.....let me caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllmmm down...so I don't have a stroke...

Today....have no idea now what we are going to do....bet it's nothing fun....

I will be back later...maybe my blood will have stopped boiling!

Nana- fly into CBus- I will pick you up (you can bring Mike) and then you can soak in my hot tub- I will turn it down to 98 so our oppressive temps don't give you heat stroke. I just finished mowing lawn- had to quit yday as it was too hot, and decided to finish this am before it got too hot- I am spending the rest of the day inside.

whoa. it's going to be 87 today! glad i got the watering out of the way before the temps start climbing. Hubby's coming home today. i need to go to the grocery store and get something for dinner. i think i've forgotten how to cook! last night, post-nosebleed, i didn't feel like eating, so i had some V8, string cheese and low carb ice cream. think i hit all the food groups there. tonight i'm going to actually get food on the table. should be interesting.

ADVICE TO THOSE WITHOUT KIDS: FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!! USE A CONDOM!!!!!

Nana, you ain't kidding. and good luck.

Laurie, can't believe you were mowing grass at the crack of dawn! i never did make it to the weedwhacking yesterday. i guess that means it's going to be on the agenda sometime this week.

have a beautiful Sunday!

Hey everyone... Slept til 8:00am after being away all day yesterday I have lots to do today, housework, :washing: etc.

Nana Linda... Sweetie I am so sorry that your bratty 32 yr old has ruined what should have been a great weekend together with your MG!! I bet you wish you could just pack your bags and run away for awhile!! You are right about using the condom!! Some days you think life would have been so much less stressful without children. But then there are those fleeting moments of pure love and happiness that they bring to your life. (try to remember those times!!) to you and your MG! I hope you can find some happiness today!!

Laurie - Send some of that warm weather this way please!! It has been so cool here and windy the last few days brrr!! When is summer going to show its face here in my neck of the woods??

Phylis - Darn... back to making full meals again LOL! Sure would be nice to find out the reason why the Nosebleeds are happening!! Hope you have a peaceful Sunday!

After housework and grocery shopping I simply must get started on doing a layout for our family tree. I have been asked to do one that we could make into a poster for the family reunion this year. With everyones health issues and the deaths of a few family members this past couple of years, this could very well be our final reunion. We will see.

Thanks ladies!!

I would just love to pack a bag and come see ALL OF YOU!!!

but today this is me:

I rearranged my kitchen office (previously an end table and a file cabinet, now using file cabinet and library table- only problem is the table is too high for my normal chairs, and I have tons of piles to deal with now. Plus, MMG brought back ds the youngers stuff we are storing and he placed behind my laptop on said table- a leg lamp from the Christmas Story movie- that will be moving shortly!
