Daily Ooo's Weekend edition February 9 & 10

LaurieW

lOve the O!
Morning O fam- getting ready for a busy weekend. I am going to dance this am and most of the rest of the weekend I will be at work. I am prepping for time off next week. I can't wait. I surely hope all my O fam on the east coast are safe and sound, even if they are buried under snow. I am thankful that the storm came on the weekend versus during the week. On the other extreme can't wait to live vicariously through LindaS in Hawaii!! Okay- on with daily routine!

Well, here it is, 2:19 a.m. and I am wide awake! Ugh...

We never made it to Lahaina last night. The photo shoot started at 5 but she took more photos than planned... People always do that with my kids. So then it took longer to put together the slide show, etc. We wound up buying a package which included a flash drive with all photos and the rights to print them. There were 98 photos so I think you should all plan to see lots of HI photos!

Beautiful weather yesterday. Started the morning with a wonderful 2 mile walk on the beach. Spent some time at the pool and in the ocean. Had a late dinner at Duke's and came home and crashed by 9:30. And, here I am.

Laurie, hope you have a good day of dance. And I guess that it's ok to work the weekend if you get time off next week, right?

Got to check out the gallery for awhile!

Good morning everyone! Happy Saturday. I am aggravated that I am up so early. Cramps woke me up before 6 am. And its just freezing and blowing snow here. Not thrilled about have to shovel out today. The "good" news is that we probably only got 12-13 inches of snow? When they were talking about 20+ yesterday morning I was so darn depressed. But the photos of Boston area! OMG-- just nuts. It looks like they are going to have snow till July!

The nice thing about this is that Scott had two of his friends come over to hang out and they slept over. They did some shoveling for us yesterday and will help again today. And they cooked dinner too-- 3 teenage guys in the kitchen. The smoke alarm only went off once. LOL

I am not sure what's up for me today. If the roads get cleared up here, Scott is supposed to be heading down to his GF's. Cait and I might start painting her room. But ATM all of the sane people in my house are asleep.

Hope that everyone has a fantabulous day!

From Friday:

Note: Just so ya know, I didn't make that nemo pic. I saw it on FB and it made me laugh. (Not to mention, I would have done a much cleaner extraction bwuahahahah!!!!)

Laurie-- so lucky no snow for you. I am so so sooooo done with this crap!!!! Hope that you get photographing today or soon.

Nana----- oh man..... you know that it doesn;'t matter-- 4" of snow or 4' of it. Its fricking SNOW!! UGH!!!
How many days do you get for school closings? My district builds in 7 and I think we *might* have one left and that is after making up 2 already from post-Sandy. At the rate we are going, we will be in school until July!!!!
Awesome news about Jesse not needing services!!! :high5: And hugs to your mom, she really is an awesome lady!!!

Terry- hope you can get some scrap time in today!

Trudy- how was the weather for DD and DS? Hope not too bad. I like your suggestion to Nana about thinking that she is with Linda S. I think Linda S needs to Photoshop us all into one of her photos so we can really be there :D
And really?? Men!!! What do they think we do all day? I think you are working the right amount and without that boss, for all the right reasons. There. *wipes hands* End of story. He cannot complain any more because I have spoken.

(Please don't tell him I said that!! )

Nancy- how did you do with the storm? This past year has been cra-zeeeee!!! Hope you are having fun playing with and figuring out your camera!
Can you post a link to it for me? My MIL said that her digital camera dies. She is using her iPhone ATM and they have a big Canon DSLR so this sound s like it might be a nice middle ground for her.Thx!

Phyllis- aren't these named winter storms ridiculous? LOL
And don't ever try to control Your Muse-- you make amazing ART!!!

Jen-- you are NUTS!!!!!! Love the knitted undies!!!! Not that I want a pair.... ;)

Linda S- hope that today is just as perfect as yesterday!

good morning - my hubby is digging us out of about a foot of snow. My son was up at 5 am as a herd of deer came and cleaned out the bird feeders - he tried to use my new camera but LOL he did not remember to take off the lens cap. He at least knew to get my point and shoot and he got some nice photos. Love that he knew to take the photos for me. My hubby said the commute home was not too bad and the worst of the snow really came after 11pm and most headed the warning to leave early. Off to an early 1pm start to my Devils vs the Penguins. It is a home and home early game today at the Rock and tomorrow they play a night game in Pittsburgh. Phylis are you going to the game?

Chris here is a link to the Adorama online store for my camera. http://www.adorama.com/ISONEX7BK1.html
The reviews are correct in the sense that it does have a learning curve but wow the photos are gorgeous and it is so light and compact - so what if I have learn something new. I love a challenge.

Linda S - you vacation is sounding wonderful.

Phylis glad you missed this storm.

Nana hope you have a somewhat calm weekend.

Jen those photos were too funny. Who could wear those shoes?

Have a great day!

Nancy, good luck to our IceGuys! no, we never go to the games. too expensive, plus my husband works in the city and he pretty much refuses to go back in there for just about anything after he's home....

Chris, hope you're feeling better by now. just GREAT that you have some house guests who not only cook but also SHOVEL! that worked out well. we got basically nothing out of this storm. some weird tiny slush-y stuff yesterday for about an hour, but that's it. the weather next week is looking GOOD. it may be 50 degrees for my BD, which i'm pretty sure has NEVER happened before. and there may be sunshine today, later on. yahoo!!!!

hi, Kristy!

Jenn. OMG. the knit underpants are too much....

Linda, isn't insomnia great??? it goes with you, wherever you are! well, at least you're wide awake in MAUI!! beats being wide awake in Iowa, i would bet. sounds like you're having a beautiful vacation.

Laurie, seems like a busy weekend for you! well, at least you don't have to think too much about the weather and how the driving is going to be. that's my favorite thing about the times of the year that are NOT winter: you get in the car. you go. no worries.

i've been a slug for the last few days. just a little bit of housework, lots of time just milling around, i guess. laundry, dusting. i baked some of my CF almond flour CC cookies yesterday, today i'm making ham and cabbage soup. i'm also debating whether to jump ship at Facebook. there's no reason for me to be on it, now that i'm not on Anna's CT anymore, and it would be One Less Thing. i'm currently very much into One Less Thing-hood.

Happy Weekend, O-zies. find your One Less Thing and throw it overboard! :becky:

Morning everyone... Happy Saturday, although I think that the only happy person here is LindaS!! We want to be with you Linda :hurt: !! I was woke up this morning by the phone ringing and of all things it was the Power Company in Nova Scotia telling us that our power is out?????????????????? WTH???? We live on the otherside of the friggin country????????? Why on earth are we getting calls from NOVA SCOTIA POWER!!!!!!!!!!!! Not a happy camper!! Of course it is an automated message and they have called about 6 times this morning

Laurie - Have fun at dance!! I hope your get your work done so you can enjoy days off next week!!

LindaS - Ugh being up so early, but as soon as the sun comes out you can at least to for a walk in the warm weather!! Hope you have the energy to enjoy the day!! Enjoy each moment of being in Maui!!

Chris - MY DS decided to be wise and stay put this weekend! Good thing too because he would have had to turn back halfway to his destination because the highways were closed because of the storm! So this mom feels so much better that her children are safe and warm and not on the highway!! Ha, Ha love how you told my hubby off!!!! :boxing:

Kristy  hope you get to see the chickens hatch!! :thumb:

Nancy - Have fun at your Devils game today! Hope you get rid of the snow filled driveway!! How nice that you hubby took photos for you!!

Phylis - I too am thinking of dumping Facebook, it has become an unsafe place to be, I get messages from weirdoes wanting my number and such, really?? Wish my friends on facebook new about the security you should have and perhaps then I wouldn't get these strange messages and invites!! Hope you have a relaxing weekend and you get rid of one more thing!!:becky:

Well better get dressed and get some breakfast for MG and myself, we are off to the grocery store and the wine store for more wine making supplies. Tomorrow off to help MG's sister with some chores around her place and she is making supper for us and a few of her friend in the complex where she lives. How much you wanna bet I end up doing most of the dinner making?? She is like that always invites but makes others do the work, she really thinks she is the princess and it drives us crazy :dizzy: I feel badly for her that her hubby is gone, but really we are not his substitutes as he did absolutely everything for her. Maybe she will surprise us and not be that way this time? Yeah right!! Anyway have a great weekend everyone, its a long one for us in B.C. our first annual family day is on Monday, no work!!!! Hooray!!

Good afternoon!!

Another early bird here. I was up at 4AM. WTH! I mean it is Saturday!

Got up. caught up with the checkbook and the mail. Did a little bit of work. Changed the sheets. 2 more loads of laundry. Gave the 3 pooches a bath. Made the grocery list. Was at the grocery store by 8:30. Put the stuff away--I hate that job. a couple more loads of laundry. visited my mom.

Now I am back home and sitting down to scrap. Well.......first I am shopping for new supplies. Then I'll scrap.

Went to the city last night with hubby and son and bought him a truck. Geez! the truck we went to see got sold before we could get there. Looked at a couple others. Then Craig puts his eye on a Toyota Tacoma. It cost way more than what I thought the kid should spend. Try to buy your first car with no credit. The interest rate is astronomical! It doubled my son's payment. We just couldn't do that so we ended up paying for the truck. Going to my bank on Monday and getting my son a loan. What a nightmare. He's happy though. Loves his truck. He ought to---it's the sports edition so it is pretty jazzy. Funny though---he said he wanted nothing except a FORD F-150. The little Tacoma is a far cry from the Ford.

I can't believe all the snow that is being dumped. Hope everyone is safe and warm!!

Off to buy supplies now!

I think that shoveling a 14" of snow and then painting a bedroom is too much for the old Lymie body to do any more. I am soooo stiff and sore, but only on my right side. For whatever reasons, my right side has always been more affected by Lyme than my left. Right ankle, hip, ear, hand--even when I get migrating pain on my left side, its never as bad as the right. Gary is opposite of me, he left side is more painful and weaker then his right. Its always amusing to look at the idiosyncrasies of Lyme. Figure that 4 people in my home are affected-- and each and every one of us presents differently. Its mind boggling to think about how a lyme dr even begins to sort it all out with hundreds of patients.

But Cait's walls are done and she loves them. Its bright in there for sure and I am happy its not my room, but it is very "Caitlyn-ish." We still have to figure out what to do about doors and trim. She also has a quote she wants to paint on one wall- Oh grr, Can't remember it, but something about dreams, and it will be next to her bed. We are going to just use craft paint I think and a projector to help us trace it out.

Wait-- why do I think my MIL has a Cricut? I wonder if she actually does and if so, can you cut out a stencil from it?
Hmmmm....
If anyone around me has one, it would be MIL. She is so crafty and artsy and if there is a new cool art tech, she wants it. Last time I was down, she showed me how she was using the bottoms of celery, a Gelli Plate ( dork that I am, I thought she was saying "Jelly Plate" like a jelly glass but flate LOL) and fabric to make these cool roses.

anyway- I am rambling. And where was I?

:noidea:

Let me say good morning and happy Sunday!

Hi Kristi! How have you been? Always awesome to see you pop in here! Hope you have lots of little baby chicks to watch!

Nancy- If I never see snow again, I'll be happy! You too?
Props to your son for getting the camera and TY for the link. I'll pass it along to her.

Phyllis- here's to sun and warmth on your birthday! It must be coming up soon. We'll have to keep the O-Choir all warmed up and ready to sign to you too:sing:

Love the idea of throwing one less thing overboard!

Ack!!!!! WTH is up withthe phone calls Trudy?? Like you wouldn't notice that the power was out if they didn't call you, for one. But not even on the right side of the country? That would be like me getting a call about Cali! Actually, more like Alaska!
Totally relieved with you about your DS not driving. When Scott's friends drove over on Friday I told them they were not leaving with it snowing.

OT: Scott is going for his written exam on Friday-- fingers crossed he passes and can get set up with Behind the Wheel soon! He'll be 17 in May and needs to get a job.

Terry-awesome news on the truck for DS! Smart financial move to do it the way you did. Great news that he is happy too even though its not a Ford!
Hope you got lots of scrapping annd shopping done .

Morning ladies... Just a quick fly by :plane: for me today, we are out the door and heading to the SIL's today. A stop at Costco first and then to an art gallery to look at some prints that MG wants to see of the Musical Ride to go with his print that the family gave him for his retirement. Here's a link if you would like to see the artists work. http://www.joanlarson.com
Have a great day everyone!! Hope all of our friends in the East get shovelled out today!

Good morning well almost lunch time. LOL Chris sorry but I have a soft spot in my heart for snow and its beauty. I lived in the desert while growing up so I still like snow. My hubby loves to shovel and we love mass transit so for us driving is not really a problem but I do feel so sorry for those that were stuck on the highways on Long Island and further north. But NJ mass transit made it easy for us to get to our afternoon hockey game. Devils actually kept both Crosby and Malkin off the score board. I left a happy Devils fan. The Devils are really trying hard to treat their season ticket holders well and yesterday after the game we got to go on the ice and have our photo taken in front of Marty's net. There were over 500 people I would say and they had 3 photographers so it moved pretty fast. My hubby then took me to dinner at MacDonalds at the train station. LOL but we had a great time. I have to share this hockey video. One of the teams nickname is the Condors and someone thought it would be a good idea to bring a real condor to the game. I laugh everytime I see this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=EX41wKm8hQ8

Phylis stay warm.

Trudy hope those phone calls stopped

Chris sounds like the painting went so well! Her room sounds so happy! Glad the link for the camera worked

Have a great day!

Trudy, i got a laugh trom the calls from Nova Scotia. do you ever wonder WHO is behind ridiculous stuff? like, wouldn't you like to meet them face l face and say: EXPLAIN to me how this happened! i honestly think that half the work force has about half their brains engaged most of the time. have a good time at your SIL's. hope you don't end up doing all the cooking.

Chris, i totally get that one-sided thing. i used to be a left-sider, and now it's switched to the right. ridiculous. the BD is tomorrow. please don't involve the O-choir! being 63 is nothing to CELEBRATE! :hurt: it'll be great when your guy get his license, i guess? then you won't have to make that long drive to his sweetie's house!

Terry, glad you've figured out the truck stuff. Tacomas are great-looking. dunno whether i'd be as nice as you are, though. i am SUCH a meany!

blue skies, sunshine and 50 degrees today. amazing. even more amazing: in the recliner at 9:30 p.m. last night, reading until 10. lights out and asleep until 4 a.m., awakening to the sound of my cat coughing up a hairball. out of the recliner searching for said hairball. then BACK TO SLEEP until 8 a.m.!! woohoo! do the math!! an amazing night's sleep!! :whoo:

hope your Sunday is a Sun Day. enough of the white stuff already!! :becky:
