Daily Ooo's Weekend edition December 28 & 29th

LaurieW

lOve the O!
Good morning O fam! Here is how I started last weeks thread
"First day of winter and we have flood warning- between melting snow - all 4 inches of it, and the massive rain, well, yup the field ditch was full yesterday and I will have to wait for the daylight to see where it is today. I need to wrap gifts and perhaps run to town to buy some yarn to make a gift for my son's girlfriend. Perhaps some family/friend Christmas card making now that my O cards are done- priorities you know!!

What are you full of this weekend- if it is travel,be safe"

Little did I know what was in store for me. I realized this morning that it has been since last Saturday that I left the house- wow- no wonder I am feeling closed in. Yesterday I cleared up the kitchen. I have been sorting and making purging and must discard/ did discard inventory lists for the insurance man who is arriving tomorrow am. Today- the basement clean up crew who said they were coming late yesterday, but never did- should arrive. I am wondering if we will get to make a trip to pick up the chair that needs reupholstered, or if I will have to call them. I did have a dream about going to the restore- found an amazing cupboard to put in my craft room. Wonder if dreams come true. I am working on 3 lists for the next week - what I accomplished/what was good in 2013, what I want to leave behind, and my intentions for 2014- maybe I will scrap this!

So now you know I am once again working on cleaning and sorting, what are you doing this weekend???

Oh Laurie-- a whole week in the house? Cleaning out the soggy basement? that is really awful. I hope that you get exactly what you need the at the Restore. I am proud of you for doing such good purging as well. My whole house needs a good purge.
I am looking forward to seeing your lists when you scrap them. I think I am too scared to do that for myself. 2013 had a lot of crazy moments- lots of good/proud mama moments and some not so good (Scott testifying in court was one of those good and bad at the same time LOL)). 2014 it going to be a huge year in milestones and I need to stay positive in all of that but it ain't always easy for me ;)

I am off to Christmas Dinner Round Three this afternoon at my MIL's. I am terrified to get on a scale b/c all of I have done this past week is eat!!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Chris- you can do it, but not share- i may only share my good 2013 list and not my leave behind 2013 list!

Laurie- I think that if I start listing all of the stuff that happened this past year I might :faint: And then to look ahead to next year-- :faint: :faint:
hahah!!

Phyllis- that is good to know about Peter Capaldi. I don't think I have seen him in anything else. How was grocery shopping. I *had* to get up at out very early in the 26th for that very reason -- get out of my way with the shopping carts!
Hope you are feeling better!

Laurie too funny about the Santa!!

Andrea- you are a brave lady to go into the madhouse voluntarily! LOL What citrus scents did you get? Combos?
I am always on the lookout for the new scent trends.
Leah got me Sugar Lemon Squares Hand lotion by Hempz Treats and omg I just want to eat it!!

Trudy- enjoy your few days of peace and quiet.... don't miss the kids too much.

Love and hugs!

Morning my friends!! A morning where I can actually sit here and visit with all of you for a bit without having to go and make something to eat for everyone again!!! Ha, Ha, I am not complaining, I have enjoyed every sweet moment with my kids and grandkids! It has been jammed packed with, walks to the park, pushing on the swings and teter toters, climbing up all the ladders to the slides and sliding down together like a train. Then an actual train ride on the Santa Locomotive, talking with Santa, having hot chocolate. Swimming at the pool, hide and seek and so much more!! Not to mention all the wonderful fun on Christmas Day! Now it is soooo quiet here, but Grandpa and I both needed a bit of a rest :becky: I got most of the house cleaned yesterday and I am actually ready to get all the Christmas stuff put away again. It's no fun having it all up with no kids to enjoy it with anymore! :mmph:

Laurie - Wow I can't imagine what you are dealing with AGAIN!!! After so much hard work and the beautiful job you did on your basement, I would be so disheartened !! Good for you for purging and getting past all of this! I wish for you everything good in 2014!!

Chris - It is amazing to look back on the year and think of all the things that have happened in the past 12 months!! So much has happened with you and your family! But I predict that this will be a great year for you!! Your kids are coming into their own and I know that there is some kind of cure out there for you and your family!! Perhaps its best to just concentrate on all of the proud momma moments and block out the bad times of 2013!

I am off to get some breakfast, seems I have been feeding everyone, but have forgotten to eat a few times myself and I think that the scale will tell me that I lost a couple of pounds. Not a great way to do it, but I will take what I can get!! :becky: I will make up for it I am sure when the chocolate I got for Christmas gets consumed!! Have a wonderful day everyone, December is slipping away very fast!!

The best news- do not know the settlement yet, but I talked with my husband about spending $1000 to put my craft room together for once and for all and he agreed. Everything in there is going on casters- for two reasons- ease of movement and raising it up so stuff does not get wet as easily as when it sits on the floor. I am about to become the caster queen! I believe a trip to Ikea is coming next week. I have wed & thursday off. So I can go visit Anna and make the trip- weather permitting. Tomorrow we find out what will be covered insurance wise. Okay, must get ready for dance, then church.

Chris - Mostly what I got was hand soap and I got Kitchen Lemon and White Citrus in those because they were six bottles for $20. I did also get this newer Tangerine lotion and body cream that they had on sale and I could eat my hands off when I put it on, hehe! I sell Scentsy so I'm always buying citrus scents for in the house and there's always some citrus air freshener in the bathroom which I'm sure is going to drive Brent to the nut house. He got me a gift card for Bath and Body works and I had a coupon that expires on the 1st so I figured I might as well knock it all out with one shot since they were having a huge sale.

good morning - long time since I have gotten here. Short recap. Had a great Christmas with my son, his wife and her parents. I got out my China and crystal and it made the dinner so much more festive. The house looked great and the food was so yummy. Everyone loved their presents. Just a lovely day. Then on Friday I got to get up early for World jr hockey Championships. It is fun for me to see the young future hockey players before the make it in the NHL and cheer for the USA kids. Friday was more jr hockey and the Devils played and lost again in a SO. Then yesterday was awesome as it was my annual Christmas bird count. We have been associated with the count for 19 years. It is always fun but this year was good in that there was no snow no rain and them temp was in the 50s by the time we stopped for lunch. And we always stop at Pizza Hut. We saw a kingfisher and brown creepers and lots of white breasted nuthatches. We go with one of my former coworker who now like me is retired. He is as happy as I am retired. And that is good to see. And according to my Upband I took over 18,000 steps. So it was a great day in hockey too as the USA again won in the world jrs and my Devils defeated the NY Islanders 2-1.

Chris hope you had a wonderful dinner and time at the in-laws. And I totally know what you mean about stepping on the scales. Not looking forward to our rain today in NJ.

Laurie a whole of being in! WOW I guess you have to do what you have to do. Glad you and your hubby decided to finally fix your craft room. That has to be so exciting after all you have been through. Your purging is something I really need to do.

Phylis hope all is going well in your neck of the woods.

Andrea you made me smile thinking of you eating your hands. It must be crazy at the mall right after Christmas. Always a good thing though to get the sale prices.

Trudy your holiday sounds so fun with your son and the grandkids. I will be looking for your pages with all this holiday fun. Tell you husband I am feeling for him as more of the Bruins go down with injuries.

Have a great day all!

hi, guys. i'm gonna be missing for a while. not feeling that great, so focussing on that. happy 2014!

Hi everyone! Thank all of the gods everywhere that I got to sleep in today. I ended up taking one of my sleeping pills. I hate having to do that but it was my only way I was going to get decent sleep. The weather is making my joints really achy, and then add in the "racing brain syndrome" when I wake up from the pains, I had been having a really rough time getting back to sleep. The pill helped a lot.
Today is also the one day while the kids are off from school that I have nowhere to go-- just some laundry/housework and it is going to be a laid back day.

I am also going to work on my posting goal here. I am going to hit 30,000 posts soon and I want it to be today :ranger:

Back for personals in one bit!

Trudy- the visit with all of the kids sounds like it was so much fun and joyful! Did you get lots of pics? I really bombed out this year with photos, but my BFF and SIL posted some on FB that I have to grab. Enjoy the quiet as best as you can.
How did Mason like his Christmas?
I am going to go with your prediction of 2014 being a great year! My mom has this silly superstition that the even-numbered years are the good ones. So I am going to grab onto that. Go 2014!!! :cheer2:

Laurie- that is great news about your craft room!! I am sorry that it had to come about the way that it did, but it sounds like it will be awesome in the end!!

Andrea- oh they all sound soooooo good! Cait got a bottle of Creme Brulee lotion by the same co. that my Sugar Lemon Squares makes and the 2 of us shove our hands in each others faces to smell them, soooo yummy!!!! We are such dorks together.
I am an aromatherapist and I love making the house smell good too. Good selling vibes for your Scentcy stuff!

Nancy- how much fun you have been having- bird watching and hockey and family-- I bet it could not have been more perfect!
Dinner at the IL's was very nice! My kids and their cousins crack us up like you would not believe. My youngest niece just turned 10 and she is the female version of Scott. my SIL and I just laugh and roll our eyes at their antics.
Hope you stay dry today.

Phyllis-- on no, I am so sorry to hear that you are still feeling so poorly. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Sending good thoughts your way. Try to pop in when you can just to say hi so I don't worry too much.
((((((Hugs)))))

love to all of you!

Happy Sunday ladies!! Very late getting in here today, but we are happily bottling white wine and of course listening and watching the Eagles Farewell Tour in Melbourne. Just love it!! Lots of dancing and singing!! Happy times!! And we get a great batch of wine out of the deal too :becky: I am really hoping to get back to normal here tomorrow, when hubby is back to work and gives me a couple of mins. to myself. Man he is demanding of my time when he is not at work. I like it better in the summer when he can spend lots of time outside doing yard work!! So today I am cleaning up my craft room and making turkey pot pies, sooooooo much turkey left over, but man was it a good one this year!! So tender and juicy!!! Lots of turkey soup already made and half of it is frozen for later use. We eat way too much at Christmas and so I bought way too much food but the good side of that is I don't need to go grocery shopping for awhile now!

Laurie - Hooray for the trip to Ikea!! Great idea to get everything on coasters and up out of the danger of water damage!!

Andrea - those soaps and lotions sound heavenly!! Enjoy them!!

Nancy- Your Christmas sounds like it was just perfect!! Hubby says thanks for thinking of him and his poor injured Bruins, he is not very happy!! But thinks its great that you are sympathetic! He faithfully wears his jersey every game hoping for the best!!

Phylis - My friend!! I hope that you are feeling better very soon!! What on earth is going on with this illness that seems to be torturing you?? Do you now have the flu? Or is it the same things that have been bothering you lately? Either way, I send lots of healing thoughts and hugs to you for a speedy recovery!

Chris - Mason's Christmas was wonderful with lots of family on his Daddy's side to spoil him rotten, our gifts also arrived in time and he got a nice sleeper a jumperoo and aquarium for his crib from this grandma and grandpa. He did alright I would say!! Heather was missing us terribly and was a little jealous of her brother that he and his wife and kids got to be here with us!! Hopefully next year she will be around us for the holidays! Or her brother is thinking of heading out her way for the Christmas holidays next year, we will see. hope you make it to your goal today!! Wow 30,000 that's a lot!! Oh now that I look, I see you made it!!!! Congrats!! :thumb:

Ok off to get this room cleaned up and then possible a walk before tackling the turkey pot pies. Have a great sunday everyone!! Phylis please feel better!!!

Been a lazy Sunday....Brent and the old men are out in the man cave watching football.....they are a hoot to sit and listen to their tales! Everyone out there but Brent is over 65, LOL. I love their stories though....too cold for this chick though so I ventured back in to the warmth of the house!

Spent a few hours visiting my grandmother which always makes me so sad. She's not got a lot of years left with us, maybe months, who knows but I'm going to enjoy whatever time God shares her with me. She's just getting so frail and her short term memory is horrible. She asked me the same things at least ten times each in the hour I sat there. I just smiled and answered like she hadn't asked before. Only grandparent I have left now so I'm thankful for my time with her.

Dad and his wife were too funny....never knew how they dressed when they weren't expecting company.....now I know.....hahahaha.....I about died when dad answered the door in long johns, knee high socks and cut off jean shorts over that. I needed that laugh today though and he warned me to stop or he would wear it out in public with me next time.

Now I'm just gonna sit here and enjoy the O for a bit and nothing more than TV or something simple. No cleaning today....I'm on strike :p
