lOve the O!
So O fam, how are you today- I have been up since 6 am and now my bed that I slept in is in a room across the hall. Wheww- well I am washing tons of bedding stuff before it gets put totally back together. We are getting a new bed this afternoon! So need to shower and get ready for dance practice- maybe only a single lesson, then home to do more mega laundry - need to wash sheets for the new bed as well. Tonight I will sleep like a king- not a queen! The best part-when my sons come home- they do not have to sleep on the couch!

So we have decided not to go to dance, which means I can get all the laundry done sooner and the bed put back together before the next one comes- yea!!! Maybe work on Christmas cards for family and friends- so funny that the O fam came first

GooooOd morning. I have been up since 6 am too. But I am having a bad coffee morning. I microwaved the leftovers from yesterday and exploded the container. Then the pot I put on to brew spilled everywhere. I hope that this is not a sign of how the day is going to go.

I am feeling both very very quiet and very much needing to yell today. The news of yesterday has made me both very heartbroken and very very angry. Since I do not want to make this, my happy place, to become an unhappy place I am going to keep my soapbox locked up and my mouth shut. :tape:

Just know that I love all of you!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and give your family and friends many hugs.

I too have been up since 6am - just reflecting. I do not have the words to express the sorrow I feel for those families in CT. It seems that my area of the nation is having almost too much to bear. First we had Irene last year, then Sandy this year and now this horror. I agree with Chris have a wonderful weekend and give your family and friends many hugs.

I have no words- and actually feel quite numb- but I am liking the following quote from Mr. Rogers that is floating around facebook

"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.' To this day, especially in times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world." -- Mister Rogers

I feel so numb to this too............I will never even imagine what those parents are feeling and what they have gone through. God bless them all and be with them all!

Well.....my kiddos slept until 8 and 9 this morning....that's unusal....so I slept until 8....
PHYLIS and my other non sleeping friends....talk to your dr about this....I feel so much better now that I can sleep....SO MUCH BETTER!!!

Mother Nature visited me this week (first time in months) and I have been having the worst hot flashes EVER....but I woke up this morning cool and no wringing wet around my hair line...so maybe it's gone again for a while...or for good would be better!!

Well...the kids are out early on Wed and off until the 2nd of Jan....I have not wrapped anything...so I have Mon and Tues to get that done....this is something I was doing at my leisure before last year....I truly feel a lot of de ja vu in my life!!

Laurie - enjoy feeling like a "king" in your new bed...I am very envious!!

Nancy and Chris....HUGS AND MORE HUGS....and I right there with ya! ::grouphug

I am late arriving here today, still reeling from the news yesterday!! What kind of a maniac kills kids like that??? My heart breaks for all of those who lost there sweet children! Perhaps its time to rethink the gun laws??? I know that guns don't kill people, people kill people, you know what I 'm just going to shut up :tape: before I say something that offends someone!!

Laurie - you will love your new king sized bed!! I don't know how we ever slept in anything smaller LOL, you will have a hard time finding each other with all that room! I love your Mr. Rogers quote!! Words to live by!

Chris - I think that perhaps a new coffee pot should be on your Christmas Wish list!! Hope the rest of your day goes a bit smoother for you!

Nana Linda - Better get busy wrapping those gifts, before they find them all!! I remember as kids we looked everywhere for the presents, but never usually found them. If you did it would just ruin Christmas!! How nice that you slept until 8am!! Hope your flashes are gone for good!! Mine are still around, but not bad anymore, sometimes I go days without one and then other times I will have a couple a day, but not the intensity they used to be. Sucks being a woman sometime doesn't it!!

Well I can't stay here today, so many groceries to get and then I have to make an appetizer for another party tonight, last nights was kinda boring, this one hopefully will be a bit livelier!! Have a great weekend everyone! Sorry if my comment offended anyone, but its just the way I feel about guns!!

So the bed is here and I am working on getting the bedding laundered to put it all together! Discovered I need to replace the foam in the old bed and have already ordered the replacement! Changed my mind about holiday baking and am working on making goodies!

How exciting Laurie, hope you have a great sleep tonight! Holiday baking is what I should be doing also, but no time I have to get the house cleaned and get ready for the party tonight :hurt: I just want to stay home!!

helllooo my dear friends!!!!

I think I got a lot accomplished yesterday-- I am *almost* done with 2 more baskets. I really want them finished today so I can get my dining room table aka Assembly Line back. We have been eating on TV trays all week!
Not to mention, I want to get everything done so we can do the family Christmas Movie Night. We have snacks and will watch A Christmas Story and Elf since we watched Rudolph and the Grinch and Charlie Brown last week with my godson.

Fun fun!!!

I shared this on FB yesterday, but if you didn't see it yet, this one is a must see IMHO, esp in light of the sad news.
26 Moments That Restored Our Faith In Humanity This Year www.buzzfeed.com Sometimes you need a reminder that people can do wonderful things.

I was talking to a friend of mine who also strives to see the good in life, and she told me that she was making every effort to be the light and love in this darkness. I amglad that she said that to me because it is all too easy to get lost. YKWIM?
So today, I am keeping the TV off--easy enough for me, I get almost all of my news online, but I am going to try and stay away from that as well. As soon as they started posting photos of the kids, I am saying no way. Let me envision them as angels..... as pure love.....

Laurie- how was your sleep???

Hi Nancy!! {Jersey Strong Fist Bump}

Nana! How is your day going today? So happy to hear that you are sleeping better! We have a full weeek of school here thank goodness, I need every last minute that I can get.

Trudy-- you party animal!! LOL Hope that you had a great time, even though you would have rather been home (I can totally relate to that!!)
No offense taken on your comments, but that is why I am desperately doign this ~> :tape: Even Gary and I started shouting yesterday about "that topic." :yell:
;)

Laurie-- yummy baking!! What did you make?

Better get going if I am going to get more done today. Have a wonderful and fab day!!!!!!

Morning O fam- I tossed and turned on my new bed last night- hopefully tonight will be better- more baking- only got fudge done yesterday, wrapping, sorting digi photos to burn DVD's for my son for a present and if I have time- scanning photos of him from - umm 1984- 1999- well maybe start on that- the digi ones are easier!

Good morning I had a fun day yesterday. My favorite young couple who were are my hockey buddies had their first baby in June and today I got to spend time visiting them. OMgosh he is so cute. He is blond like his mom but looks like his dad. We went to see Bryce Salvador a defenseman for my NJ Devils. Told him we really want to see hockey back this year. He said he does too! But the best was just seeing the baby Patrick again.

We got our tree and it is up. Today we will put on the lights and decorate.

Chris thanks so much for sharing those 26 stories. It is a must to remember the good. Jersey strong for sure.

Trudy hope you had a good time.

Laurie - yummy

Have a great day!

Good morning all! I am struggling to learn Windows 8. It is better than yesterday...but I still HATE it!

Spent some time yesterday watching kids' activities. Sydney had indoor soccer. She came to the armpit of one of the boys on the other team. But, I was so proud of her because she just didn't back down. Then Shaun had a basketball game and I saw lots of improvement there as well. Watched one of my nieces play a basketball game yesterday afternoon. And Sydney has one today as well. Other than that, it is rather slow around here. Think that I will try to get some peanut butter fudge made this morning!

Sorry that you were tossing and turning last night Laurie. It does take some adjustment to switch beds doesn't it?

Chris, hoping that you get your table back today!

Trudy, how was the party?

Phylis, hoping that your headache has cleared up and that you are out having fun and that's why you aren't with us today!

Nancy, I hope that you get your hockey season back soon!

Nana Linda, I saw your FB page early this morning saying that the whole family was going to breakfast. Hope that it was a fun one!

My kids are in school Monday-Wednesday and then out until Jan. 3. They have some day care but I'm taking some time off to spend with them as well.

Yes...we were out to breakfast at 7 am this morning....a bit early...but there was lots of coffee...so all was good :)

My Dad decided last week he wanted to take the whole family out to breakfast again this year for Christmas....was a bit of a late decision, and this was the ONLY time he could get!! NOTHING next weekend....and of course, he always so generous and had an envelope for each of us!! That man just amazes me!! When we do this, he always gets up and walks around the whole table and talks a little bit with every single one of us personally too. This is a man who never says "I love you" outloud, but goodness does he ever more show it in so many ways!! Something I have NEVER lacked is knowing how much he does love me and his whole family!!!

A very nice family gathering!

Happy Sunday morning everyone, I am late getting in here again today! Last night was a lot of fun! Got to talk and laugh with a bunch of people we have not seen for a while. Always a couple of comedians in the group and they kept everyone giggling! I was designated driver last night, so only had a glass of wine at the beginning of the party, then stuck to water the rest of the night and let MG have fun with his buddies! It was good to see him laughing and having a good time! I certainly felt better for it this morning :becky:

Chris - What a great link!!! So warms the heart to see that there truly are some amazing people in this crazy world!! I love your idea of keeping those babies in your memory as Angels!! Best to stay away from the bad news right now ITA with you!

Laurie - That's too bad that you tossed and turned on your new bed last night! Hopefully tonight will be better, I guess it will take some getting used to, but I know you will soon love your king sized sleep soon!!

LindaS - Sorry you are hating Windows 8, I think the best thing I ever did was switch to my iMac!! I love not having to deal with windows anymore, but it did cost me a lot to do the switch, thank goodness my son gave me CS6 for Mac or I would not be able to afford to do my scrapping! Hope you adjust to it soon! Hooray for having a few days off to spend with your family over Christmas Holidays!! Enjoy!!

Nancy - Sounds like you have had a great weekend! You got to see a sweet baby and a great hockey player too!! Bonus!!

NanaLinda - Your Dad sounds like a wonderful man!! My dad was the same way, had a hard time saying I love you face to face, but oh my he showed us love all the time, we were never without knowing how they both felt about all of us 7 kids!! Hope your breakfast was delicious! You are a lucky Nana! Treasure each moment you can spend with your Mom and Dad!!

Well lots of laundry to get done today Hey has anyone seen Phylis? Hope she is ok! Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
