LaurieW

lOve the O!
Morning O fam- I slept in until 7am- may have had something to do with the bottle of sparkling wine I shared with MMG to celebrate 32 years together- actually more, but those are the married ones! Today- some catch up at home and work and then off to a balloon fest- I have never been to one and the weather is to cooperate, so I can't wait.

What are you up to today?

Congrats on the milestone of 32 Laurie!!!! Wine well deserved!!!!

No big plans for us.....surprising, huh?? most boring people EVER!!!

Nothing from me....so let's hear what everyone else is doing....maybe I will get an idea or something...

Nana, sorry. my hubby and I are the most boring people ever!! hands down. so far today i've done a lot of ironing, checked my email and The O, checked my blood sugar, and tried to get through to an ACTUAL PERSON on the phone at Bloomingdale's. honestly. NEVER buy anything from those people unless you are standing face to face with a salespeson in a store. what a bloody MESS their customer service is on the phone. that's 40 minutes of my life i'll never get back!

congrats, again, Laurie on your 32 years! sparkling wine enhances any special occasion, and it can make even a normal day seem special. i once made a paper scrapbook page about champagne. that shows how seriously i take the stuff! have fun at the balloonfest. they always seem to make for some gorgeous photos.

today looks to be a beautiful day. wonder what i'm going to make of it? i really should be outside in it, doing something. there's always the 3 1/2 MILES of edging i could do around the flower beds. but why waste a beautiful day on something that is SO much like WORK!?

hope you all find something lovely and not much like work to fill your day with. do something you love.

Okay, someone else get in here and give me ideas.....Phylis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not ironing....I hate talking on the phone (yes even bitching on the phone ) and certainly no edging work!!!

NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my lovelies!!!

I have been up for a while and my plans have changes several times already ha!

I did great at the garage sake- over $100 yesterday. I took $20 home and ordered subs for dinner. ;)
I was thinking of going back down today to help my parents through lunch rush and then go pick scott up from GF's house. But my IL's are going to get him from her house and then take him and Cait to get back to school supplies. When I find out times, I will invite them to stay for dinner. While I wait for final plans to form, I am cleaning the house and catching up on laundry.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Chris, you sound like you've had a full day already! glad you made some $$ on the sale. hopefully you'll get more today. the weather's cooperating, right? it's gorgeous over here.

Morning girlies!! I can't believe that I slept until 9:15am!!!! Wow I haven't done that in forever!! Guess DD has simply worn me out and the sun and tubing and swimming exhausted me!! But what a fun day we had, visiting with my niece and her hubby from Australia and those two sweet babies of hers, then my Wonderful Brother treated all of us to Prime Rib dinner at the golf course, Yummmm!!! The perfect way to spend the day, but sad to say goodbye to the Aussies for my DD as she and them leave on Saturday night to go home. Lots of tears and hugs, my DD is not good with goodbyes, she is very emotional!!

Laurie - Congrats on the 32 years of married bliss!! so nice that you celebrated with the bubbly stuff!!

Nana Linda - Don't you think its great that you are boring right now! Horray for boring for you and MG, it gives you a bit of break and I know it will produce some more fabulous pages from you! Enjoy your day!!!

Chris - So great that you made some $$ and your parents are amazing for taking the kids for their back to school supplies! I always hated that job! Nice chance for you to tidy up your own house, although I am sure you would much rather be doing something, anything else!!

Phylis - 40 mins with customer service on the phone??? Remind me to never, ever to go shopping there! Can't anyway, no Bloomingdale's where we live thank goodness!!
Enjoy the beautiful day, go outside and simply sit in the sun or shade and read a good book for a while, that's not anything like work and you can enjoy the weather too! Hope whatever you do today makes you happy!!

Well off to get some brunch for everyone seeing how I missed breakfast, MG is starting to raid the cupboards, so that must be a hint  Have a fabulous day everyone!!

The problem with a big fancy camera- you can take photos in black and white- and then if you do not change the setting and look through the eyepiece and not look at the photo the back- you can take lots of black and white butterfly photos, and hang glider photos against a no longer blue sky- however I did finally realize this and changed back to color for the hot air balloons- now I am charging the battery because I took so many.

It's been a crazy week. First I worked from last Friday til this Wednesday. For someone who works like 15-20 days a year - 6 days in a row is SCARY LOL Then on Friday we had this big meeting about DS's school. Everyone was there, principal, spec ed teachers, school nurse, child psych & other spec med. What was decided was that John won't start school yet (the school starts tomorrow in Sweden) - he needs to feel ok first. So he'll have a meeting with the school nurse on Wednesday + the psych people will call next week to scedule a first meeting. I'm hoping things will work out now! (Not being very hopeful though ... I've heard so many times that we will get help, but nothing ever happens.)

I've been off the puter almost all week, missed everything. But I've been reading (Sookie Stackhouse = crap) and sewing. Haven't used my sewing machine for months - so nice to do it. Need to do it more often ... cuz I do love it. Working on a set of pot holders for the place I work. The old ones were scary - they really need new ones. Plan to get them done today, and then I can get over there tomorrow and give them to Tina (my friend that is "the kitchen boss" over there) as a welcome back to work gift after her vacation.

Good Sunday Morning!

Laurie-- Happy Anniversary!! Did you have fun at the balloon fest?

Nana-- Your FB "rant" was hysterical. Note to O-Fam: Do not ever interrupt Nana when she is scrapping!! LOL

Phyllis- I'll come do your edging if you come do my laundry hee-hee!!

Trudy- hugs to you! I hope that you pamper yourself today and get to look at all of the pics you took so you don't feel so lonely. Hugs!

Oh laurie-at least you figured the camera setting out before it was too late!

Eva- there you are, we missed you! I thought maybe you ran off with your sexy vac. ;)
As hard as it is to make that decision, I am sure it is the best way to go.I already am worried about the back-to-school health dive with Scott. Same thing, every year..... goes into school feeling great and then the stress, less sleep etc..... hits him hard. I am happy to hear that the school understands this for John.

Hugs and love to all of you!

'morning. what a gorgeous sunrise we had today. i know this because a stupid mourning dove was hooting right outside ur bedroom window at 5 a.m. and i was therefore awake to see the sunrise. i am pretty ambivalent about birds....

Trudy, it all sounds like an emotional roller coaster, with so many much-loved people coming and going. i'll bet it's going to be SO lonely when everyone has gone back to their respective homes. but it sounds like you really had an amazing few weeks. sometimes i long for the "old days," like when i was growing up. my grandfather and his brother lived with us, i could walk to my gramma's house and one of my uncle's, and every cousin but one lived within a few miles of our house. now, it's catch as catch can. and here's me. i just finished SKYPING with my Grandmen, who are half a world away!

Eva, i hope everything works out for your son. sometimes dealing with schools is one of the worst things ever. lots of promises. it takes such a lot of work by parents to get them to actually HONOR the promises they've made. good luck. i so admire your sewing/knitting/making stuff. i used to do a lot of that kind of thing, then lost interest. especially with the sewing machine.

another day where i don't have a set schedule. gotta do my walking before it rains. what happens after that, who knows?? i am becoming SUCH a slug.:tsk:

hope y'all find something fun to occupy your time today. Happy Sunday!

Ohh Phylis I think you maybe you need a slingshot for those doves!! I was woken this morning at 5:00 am also by a sneaky little :spider: climbing all over my back!! :scared: I tried to find it with a flashlight so I would not wake up MG, but of course that did not work, so he got up and turned on lights and found the little bugger for me, he's back asleep, but not not me... I HATE SPIDERS!! Cried myself to sleep last night, after saying good-bye to DD, I was left wondering what will become of her, will she ever get work?? Will she ever have children?? How would she care for them if she did?? Oh brother, sometimes being a Mother is so stressful! Then I start to worry about my own job, should I leave? Can I find work somewhere else that I like? Should I try going back to the bank for a job? Stop the world I want to get off!!!! Well enough bitching I need to go scrap something. Hope your day is pleasant and you catch a nap sometime today!!

they don't tell you that once you are a mother, you never get to stop, do they?

Laurie, you are NOT kidding. it NEVER ends.

Trudy, EEEKKK!!!!! i hate spiders, too. last summer i was sleepng on the couch in the family room and got bit by something nasty. since then, i have these little glue traps all over my house. it's alarming what i find in them! i have no idea how bugs get into my house, but i don't want ANY of them in there. they have ALL of "outside" at their disposal. so leave ME alone!!

i can understand your DD concerns, Trudy. {{hugs}} life is SO freaking complicated.

P- Sweeeet! I'll be there in about 5 hours? LOL

T- oh sweetie...... I wish I could be there, make you a cup of tea and give you a huge hug. I can't imagine how hard it must be to let her go..... As my own two getolde rand I have to let them do their own thing, its so hard, and its hard ti imagine it getting even more difficult. But I guess it does. Each day, I gain more admiration for my own mom too.

Good morning O fam.....rained most of the night and almost noon here and it's still raining ... a lot!! That makes for a very achy Nana...and OMG...am I grumpy today!!! Poor kids have been imprisoned to their rooms....I just can't handle them today!!! Is that mean?? They are so stuck to me all the time...sometimes I have to just make them play in their rooms.

School on Tuesday..and Mike and I have already started a list of projects we need to jump into....exercise is on the top!! We are going to walk everyday after the kids get on the bus. I think this will help with attitudes and general health feeling as well!!

Okay...someone pass the vodka back to me today!!

i have the vodka and i'm not giving it up!!! well, maybe just for you, Nana.

maybe you can turn the tables one day and YOU go to your room and shut the door!

I had the vodka last night in the hot tub and both my husband and I saw the same shooting star- ahh- the little things in life!

I'll share the Vodka with you Linda!! Right now I could use a good buzz!!
