Morning all - dance was good once we finished with the west coast swing group lesson- I just could not get it and it was very frustrating. But open dance was good and today a little play before lessons at lunch. I am loving fall.

I too will remember 911- for many reasons- I actually was no where near tv or radio till noon that day and then only for say 15 minutes- then came home to discover that my dh cousin was in the second building- 70 something floor and we did not find out until 6-7 pm that she made it out alive. My oldest son actually interviewed her for a research project in history the next spring. I cannot imagine going to work one day, and the next day your co-workers are gone - they were told to return to their work stations as everything was ok- she didn't listen went down the stairs and was maybe on the 20th floor when their building was hit. I also remember going home and looking up definitions to terror, unfathomable and other words that kept running through my mind- and printing them out - i planned to use them for scrapbook pages that as yet I haven't gotten too, but shortly after that word definitions became quite popular in paper scrapping - interesting.

so today a day of normalcy and rememberance

I will be back later for personals

Hugs Laurie. We knew many people there as well. You can't grow up in North Jersey and *not* have the Towers be huge physical and mental "landmarks." 9 years later, I can still be driving down Rt 3 and the skyline looks so empty. We were at the WTC site a few years ago and I did a LO on it. I'll see if I can find it and I'll link it up.

But it is a beautiful day today- the sun is shining. And yay me, I get to do housework. One of the cats (not the sick one) is also peeing in the bathrooms. We locked the sick cat up in my bedroom, and someone is hitting the other bathrooms. I think (hope) it is just a case of "marking." so my job today is to get out the bleach, mop and Nature's Miracle.

Got some good news on my computer! Bad at the same time, but in the long run, its good for me. We had to suck it up and get me a new one. We couldn't get the old one going and we couldn't get the laptop to see the old drives. So we got a refurbished Gateway with Windows 7. Gary was able to get all of the info off of my old drives so I have my photos back!!!!:D:D:D
*fingers crossed* that it doesn't give me any issues but so far (24 hours later haha!) so good.

Krista, my Fruit Loop :) Have a fun day at soccer, can't wait to see the pics and lo's I know that you are going to scrap from today :P

Kat- have fun at football, thanks for:tea:

Good morning all... a sad day for our U.S. friends !!! My heart goes out to all those who have suffered such a great loss! God bless all the soldiers who are protecting our countries, may we all have peace someday. Hoping everyone has a good weekend....

So, I explained 9-11 to Ethan yesterday. He did not like that one bit. I thought he was going to start crying. Such a sad day. I was on my honeymoon and my inlaws got stuck in Reno. We were on vacation from italy so we didn't know if we had to go back or what. I never really realized how patriotic I was until this happened. I am still so proud of my country and how everyone pulled together on that day.

So nothing major planned for this weekend. Just more unpacking. Hopefully by the end of the weekend it will be mostly done. Two more rooms left. I'm so sick of unpacking. Okay, I'll come back later. I'm sleepy.

Good evening ladies!!!

It's been a great day here!! We went to the craft festival....we got rained on a bit...but I still spent some money...AACKKK!! I only bought at one place though....I found the MOST AWESOME hand made slate frames. The bigger ones were a little pricey...but......I so seldom spend on things like this...so I broke out and bought one big one and two small ones!!! I will have to take a photo!! Worst thing is how heavy it is!!! It will have to be put on a stud for sure and be very secured to the wall...

A lot of walking today...but that was a good thing!!! I need the excersise!!

Made homemade pizza for dinner...YUM...now just scrapping and watching a movie!!!

Hope you all have a great Sunday!!!

(((HUGS)))

No time for personals -- I'm about to go curl up in bed and try to get some rest, just popping in for a quick update.

Last night I got about three hours of sleep -- because an hour after I finally fell asleep, my husband came home early from work because he had a test this morning. So, I had to fall asleep all over again and get up early to drive an hour out of town.

I didn't realize his test was going to take two hours, otherwise I would of bought a breathing mask at a hardware store! The town we were in is right near all of the fires that have been causing my cough and sinus problems!!!

Back home, he went to bed & I hit up the hardware store and spent... eek... $100 on supplies for the chickens! My MIL & I decided to go with nicer materials for the run, which caused the cost to be so high. The DH is a little disappointed that I spent so much -- but I did manage to get us free lumber!

Tomorrow we're calling some breeders I found today who have wheaten marans -- oh my goodness! they look like they have petticoats! SO CUTE! I have a feeling Opal and Pearl wont cut it for their names anymore... we're going to have to name them after Petticoat Junction characters!

I got to go on a date with dh tonight. It was fun...although we thought we were going to see something funny and the movie The Switch is not a funny movie. But it was fun to get out for a bit.

I've been doing a bunch of challenges lately, but I can't upload them...it stinks. Hopefully soon. Lots of unpacking tomorrow so that hopefully we can get Internet soon. Does anyone want to come and finish unpacking for me? I'd totally let you.

Morning all - we got rain yesterday for about an hour- maybe- but the ground- it just sighed- everything has been so dry here it looks like camo!

Nana- can't wait see the frames
Meg- can't wait to see the chickens and the run
Clara- use the timer on your stove to empty and put away one box at a time- 15 min at a time and every hour take a 15 min break for yourself!
Trudy- how is your weekend going?

COFFEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's yummy and it smells soooooooooooo good!!! HAHA...I think the smell does more for me than the coffee itself!!

A little cleaning up this morning and then off to Savannah's Bday party!!

I FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY watched the first movie in the Twilight Saga....everyone said it really wasn't like a vampire movie...they were right!! It was pretty good!! NEW MOON is the next movie in my queue on NetFlix. After that I want to see Avatar...not too sure if that is going to be something I like...but I want to see!!

Okay...off to drink my gallons of coffee so I can get something done!!!

Good morning and Happy Sunday my lOvlies!

I slept pretty darn good last night. I took 2 Xanax because I have been sleeping so poorly. It helped a lot. I think the first time I woke up was around 4 am, when my usually is about 1 am.
But I am so bummed. I spent all day cleaning and bleaching the bathrooms, the tubs, the floors. I took down the shower curtains and bleached the plastic and washed the fabric. I scrubbed and sprays all of the cabinets. And what do I wake up to? More cat pee.
I don't know what else to do. :(
Keeping Merlin locked up seemed to help him, but that is how we found out a different cat was peeing too.

After all that Scott GF and Cait's "boyfriend" (gah!) came over and we all dinner together. Moms of teens..... do you ever get used to that????

Today we are off to the Grandparent's Day "party" at Gary's g-ma's Nursing home. She has Alz's and we try to see her as much as we can, so it should be a nice day, even if it rainy.

Oh Chris - I know you tried a lot of things- to get rid of the scent- have you tried borax (in the laundry aisle)? It helps to neutralize the odor so the animals do not return to the scented spot- used it when we moved into new home old carpets and my never do it anywhere they shouldn't pet were going all over- stopped it right away!

Krista- enjoy soccer

Nana- have a great party

Nana-- even with the decent sleep, I still feel like I could use another cup- so should I put on a huge pot for us?
Hope that Savannah has a wonderful party, I can't wait to see all of the LO's that you do with the 100's of photos I just know you are going to take.
I still haven't seen the 2nd Twilight movie. I liked the 1st, the kids hated it. Cait and I loved the books, Scott got up to book 3 and then gave up.
If you like Vampire stuff, we have been watching the Vampire Diaries. I have also been watching True Blood since I love the Sookie books, but the HBO show is just starting to get too weird. Nothing like the books.

Anyway- hope you have a fun day.

Meg- Hope you can get a nap in today.
Love the P. Junction name ideas! Cool!

Laurie- good advice for Clara- FLYlady!!
We are supposed to get rain today too and I hope we do. All of NJ is in drought warning. We have a well too, so you know how nerve-wracking that can be.

Krista- is there life w/o soccer for you?LOL
Will be checking out your gallery soon :)

Clara- that's a bummer about the movie. I heard it was pretty good though. Any time you can get out of the house w/ YMG for some adult time is a good thing.
Its so weird in a way to think that there is now a whole generation of kids who don't know what 9-11 is. My kids were very small. Scott was 5 and Cait was a week shy of 3. They remember some things, like we used to light a candle every night at dinner, Scott remembers Gary getting him off the bus with me (Gary was still working at that time), the remember gary and I being glued to the TV (and Caitlyn had a bunch of lolipops and was "hiding" under the table thinking she was so cool eating them before lunch and I was just relieved that she wasn't seeing the TV and was being "out of the way" - awful, I know but heck...)
It must be really hard for kids with miltary parents because that throws ina whole extra level of uncertainty for them.

Nana- the craft fest sounds fun, I used to love going to things like that. The frames sound very cool. Are they painted or "natural?"

Hi Trudy!

hugs and loves to you!

Nana- have a great party

I used borax in the laundry for the shower curtains, I will try that on the tile. Did you make a paste out of it or just sprinkle it on the spots?

Thanks!

dampen the area and sprinkle borax over it, rub it in, let it dry and vacuum - not sure what you would do to non porous, let it sit on the dampened area I guess

Good morning ladies! I spent yesterday trying to clean up my hard drive. Ugh...how do I let it get into such a mess? And the computer is running poorly...so hopefully this will help. I was scrapping with Krista Friday night (and boy was that fun) and the computer shut down. It's been doing that lately.

Also had a couple of soccer games, did some shopping, enjoyed the nice weather. Took pictures of Sarah (niece) all dressed for homecoming. You can expect some layouts from that.

Now for a slow day...lol...probably not!

Chirs, sorry about the cats. Hope that the Borax works. And the bf/gf stuff. I don't look forward to that. Have more than enough of it with nieces and nephew. Oldest one broke up in April with her bf of 4 years. He had become a family fixture...always spent holiday dinners with us. He is teaching the soccer clinic that the kids are attending so it's been nice to see him. And I'm still friends with him on Facebook...it was an amicable break-up...but still hard.

Laurie, sounds like you've had a great weekend.

Clara, anxiously awaiting your internet service. And very cool that you got to have date night...even if the movie wasn't what you had hoped.

Krista, I need to check your gallery. Can't wait to see which of those awesome photos you scrapped.

Kat, can't wait to see some football layouts. Shaun said he wants to do football next fall.

Hi Trudy (waving)!

Meg, I hope today is better.

Nana Linda, can't wait to see a photo of the slate frames. Those sound beautiful! And of course, can't wait to see the birthday layouts.

Oh, and the Artscow blanket came. Dad LOVED it!!! (My nephew was pretty impressed as well. :-) ) I highly recommend that item.

ah - dh just informed me he dropped his new droid (1 wk old) and cracked it- he is off to the store to see what his options are- didn't want to say, but you have a carrying case for a reason.

Good afternoon everyone... It is only 10:00am here, but I know that most of you are a couple of hours ahead of me. Hope you are all having a great weekend! DH and myself went to my Brother and SIL's for dinner last night and we were joined by my cousin and his lovely wife, we rarely get to see them as they live so far away, but we have always been like close friends and have so much fun when we are together. We had a great time reminiscing and laughing about the old days!!
Today I have an interview for a job that I applied for...so keep your fingers crossed for me that I get the hours that I want. I only want enough to help out with the bills and perhaps put a little aside for the B&B that we want to open one day. (I don't want much do I ??) :noidea:

Chris - how nice that you are visiting Gary's (my husbands name is gary also) g-ma! Its so sad when they have Alz's!! Hopefully she will remember all of you. Good luck with your kitty troubles!

Linda - Yuk, cleaning your hard drive, I am so lucky that my son is a computer tech for the military and he cleans mine everytime he comes for a visit. He gives me heck for not doing it more often, but it runs like a charm and It's more than 6yrs old now.

Laurie - Dh droped his new droid??? Ouch! Hopefully they will replace it for him. I would not be able to keep my mouth shut :tape2: I'm afraid and would have said he should have had the cover on it. LOL

Krista - my daughter's boyfriend says he knows you and has done some work for your mother, it really is a small world isn't it??

Clara - I sure hope that your internet problems get fixed quickly, we all want to see your great LO's for the challenges!!

Meg - Seems your chickens are going to be kinda cute!! We will have to put on our thinking caps for new names for them! Hope you get some good rest and catch up on your sleep.

Nana Linda - Your day at the craft fair sounded great, would love to see photos of these frames that you purchased!!

Well I am off to get my second cup of coffee and prepare for my interview later today. Hope you all have great Sunday!!

You'll love avatar. I didn't think I'd like it but it was really good. Similar story to dances with wolves.

But I am so bummed. I spent all day cleaning and bleaching the bathrooms, the tubs, the floors. I took down the shower curtains and bleached the plastic and washed the fabric. I scrubbed and sprays all of the cabinets. And what do I wake up to?

Try locking up both of the cats in different rooms. See if that helps. Animal issues are so hard.

Laurie - thanks for the advice. I think it will help.

So, I was at church this morning and I see this girl walking up the aisle that I knew in washington who went to my church. She's not my fave person but she's nice so I talked to her for a bit. Crazy small world.

Krista - my daughter's boyfriend says he knows you and has done some work for your mother, it really is a small world isn't it??

LOL .... ohhhh geesh .... now I'm curious .... and a littel :scared: heheheheh .... work for my Mom?? lol ;)
