It rained all day and most of the night. Woo hoo!!!
(It feels like that should be a dance song LOL)
I was at the vet with Whisky- we wait in our cars until it is time to go into the exam room and we need to wear masks- when the tech waved me in. I was so discombobulated with the leash, my purse, and my mask and getting soaked in the process and it made me so happy :p W did good, a little wax in her ear that we are going to have to clean and keep an eye on but she is all set for the year.
I felt like Susie Homemaker yesterday. I made homemade vegan breadsticks for Tom and homemade meatballs for Gary for dinner. I stripped the entire bed-- all of the blankets and comforter included. I vacuumed and mopped. And I was *tired!* I slept better last night than I had in a while. No crazy dreams/nightmares that I can remember

I have been scrapping a lot, which has been cool. A lot for me, nowhere near to the amount the rest of you do LOL

I am cleaning this afternoon. I also have to ask my friend if she has chick flick movies I can borrow, I meant to do that yesterday but forgot- (yeah, still forecasting rain next week. It doesn't rain ALL summer and of course, it is going to rain then. pfft. I have to be more positive, it can/will still change)

Hugs!

@LSlycord Did you get any organization and goal planning done yesterday? Any tips on jump-starting that for me? I am focusing on my to-do list which is the only way I can get anything done or I forget at all.
I hope that Shaun's allergies get better, is there anything he can take? Syd seems like she is off to a fab start!

@vickyday thank you for the rain vibes!
I am chuckling over the description of your day out with your friends. It sounds perfect and full of laughter. I know that you had to have rain gear on or you would have said how painful your ride home would have been. Rain is like a zillion tattoo needles on bare skin.
What a treasure to gift the photos to your DD. She sounds like the perfect person to enjoy seeing and crafting with them.

@BrightEyes Sounds like you and DD#1 are enjoying every minute together. It will be good to have DS with you after she leaves. Is his wife the one who is from the Philippines? (I am sorry, I really try to keep everyone straight in my head but as you can see, I can barely keep my own fam straight LOL)

Linda- Caitlyn sent me a couple of the pics earlier but I made her send me ones of the sloth. I know I saw a kit in the shop recently with sloths that was *adorable* Now I have a reason to get it!

@taxed4ever Good luck to all of the grands with back-to-school You want to hear something crazy? Christopher had his first day in Middle School! OOOOOOHHH!!!! MYYYYY Goodness!!!! *faints dead away* I am so old!
th

What? Why in the world would ILs look at a house bigger than yours? Not that you need advice from me but my BFF went through this with her parents when they moved into the retirement community. Her mom *had* to have the nicest view/biggest corner apt. It was on the top floor, all the way at the end of the hallway. It was 100% isolating, with no foot traffic, bumping into neighbors etc. Soooo far away from the elevator that it became too hard for her to get around. Forget about my friend trying to move her mom out over the summer. BFF is still aggravated that her mom didn't think in terms of practicality and safety for their future.
Anyway--- good luck getting that into ILs heads. :/
Have a great time hiking! I bet that will help you rejuvenate mind/body/soul!

@Betty Jo Take your time when you start decluttering your apt again you don't want to reinjure yourself. That is really exciting that you will see your brother soon!

@Cherylndesigns yes, tell Ava Auntie Chris says to be careful on the roads!! Hope you had a fun time out and about

@bcgal00 It is so good to see you pop in, I was starting to worry. I can not believe how sick you were. You had been running on empty a long time, I guess it isn't terribly surprising but must have been horrible. Everything I have read about Covid recovery says to watch for "exhaustion rebound." Rest as much as you can. How is Jen feeling? D never got it? *knocks wood*
Enjoy looking at and scrapping your photos. Keep in mind that one of your "worst" photos is 1000000 times better than the best of mine LOL

@Amandajk Your grands must be adorable handfuls ♥

@Cherylndesigns Yikes, what happened to the wifi/TV? Did it ever come back on?
With rain yesterday, I was starting to freak out because the power kept going on and off when I had the meatballs and breadsticks ready to go in the oven. (What a PITA too- the power fritzed out the oven control panel so I had to move the oven to unplug it so I could get it to reset. ugh! See, this is why I don't want to cook!)
Look at that gorgeous pool!

Good morning. What to do...got up late at 7:30. I never do that but the darned dogs were so restless in the night. On the bed, off the bed, sleeping on top of me (well just their head but on a 100 pound dog, the head is heavy enough). I woke up at 5 but I refused to get out of bed.

Sydney FaceTimed yesterday. She wanted her calculus stuff from high school and since we are taking her to lunch tomorrow, she knew that we could bring it. I had to go to her room so she could tell me what to bring. LOL Then Shaun heard her voice so he came out of his room where he was studying so he could talk to her too. His first comment, "Does it seem weird that Sydney looks different already?" I don't think she looks different but I think he misses her more than he expected to. She is busy...last night she was going out to a SASE (Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers) meeting then they were going to get something to eat afterwards. This is really her first opportunity to have a lot of exposure to diversity so that is another new thing for her.

Decker went home and it's much quieter. Andie will play with Hayden some but not nearly as much as Decker does. It's definitely good for Andie to get up and move around more.

And I got a call about that interview I did last week. They are required to do a second interview but if I'm interested, they are going to try to bypass the second interview and just use the notes from the interview panel that interviewed me for the job a couple of weeks ago. I do make sure that it is never dull around here. LOL

I'll be back in a bit for personals.

Another quick in and out today. I did make the big pot of enchilada sauce yesterday... we had it and guacamole for lunch.... oh, so delicious!!! Have a big container in the fridge to have for lunch tomorrow and 8 smaller containers in the freezer. :D DS#1 and wife should be getting on the road to head this way right about now. Yes, Chris.... she is from the Philippines. They will only be here for a short day then heading to High School friends reunion on the east coast. Looks like DD#1 will be heading home on Friday.

Not sure what was going on yesterday, but the cell phone reception was going up and down - from 3 bars down to 1 then back up to 4 and down to 1 bar all in less than a minute!!! Usually have 3 to 4 bars all the time. It was really hot so the electricity demand was high and that could effect the cell phone towers strength. It is back up to 3 bars this morning. DD was having trouble to get them to hear her when she answered her cell phone and would lose the call. She ended up standing out on the driveway last evening to talk on her cell phone!!!

I should be back to posting and personals by the weekend. CYL

Good Morning!
Worked on old pictures quite a bit yesterday as well as got a few scrapbook pages done. Even worked in my "garden" thinning out and cutting away some of the dying cantaloupe vines.......except that I cut one that still had a growing cantaloupe on it! Whoops! I cut away all but enough vineage to bury under dirt to see if possibly it would root so the cantaloupe will continue to grow. If not, oh well! Lesson learned! I think it is the last cantaloupe, too! At least I haven't been able to spot anymore in all of the mess of tomato vines with the intertwined cantaloupe vines! What a mess! I did save some of the seeds from the last cantaloupe I cut. I saved some for my son and myself. The first year he planted some he had them coming out the wazoo, too!

I also cleared out some of the tomato vines and collected the green tomatoes that were still on the vines. I plan to fix fried green tomatoes and pork for our supper tonight! Not very healthy, but good! I don't fix too much fried stuff anymore. My digestive system doesn't handle it very well. But every now and then I have to break down and have some. I'll probably pay for it tomorrow!

DH worked on the "cabin" down in the woods by the fire pits when he got home from work yesterday. He is still working 5 days a week, so that's good! He has enough work right now that he can work as much as he wants to, basically. But he got in an hour or so of OT and left so he could get some work done on the cabin. That has not happened all summer with it being so hot and us being sick, etc! For right now the "cabin" is not going to be a cabin to live in, per say. It will be more for shelter when we are at the pits and it gets too cold for whoever is there with us. Mark is going to put a wood burning fire place in it. Someone was getting rid of one and asked Mark if he wanted it. And, of course, he took it, lol! But that "gift" was an OK gift, unlike some of the other "stuff" he takes! OY VEY! Anyway, I digressed.......the floor of the cabin measures 12'x16' and didn't sound that big. But once he got it down it looks huge! I'm sure the size will diminish quite a bit when actual walls are put in place.
18280-web.jpg 19289-web.jpg

You can tell already how much the walls seem to diminish the size. We have invited the church peeps for a chicken stew and chili gathering for Oct. 1. I think he wants to have the walls up by then! I think he is dreaming, but we will see! We do have a working toilet in the outhouse now, which is just a little shed with an RV toilet in it. He dug a pit and built the shed over the hole! He amazes me sometimes! I'll have to take pictures of that set up sometime to share with you! I know you just cannot wait! ;)

Well, I need to get busy scanning. I really thought Mark would invite me to go to lunch today but that hasn't happened, so he must be swamped! Guess I'll have to fend for myself! Life is tough! ;) I'll follow this with personals.

Have a great day, ladies!

Morning everyone! Another warm sunny September Day! Not that hot sticky warm though thankfully! I am off to my hike right away and need to get my lunch and lots of water packed. After the hike I will walk to the complex at the bottom of our hill and look at the places that are for sale with the In-Laws. Not sure if I will go to Ladysmith to view the other one though, we will see. It will be a long day after my 10k hike. Hopefully I will have time for a quick shower before looking at the houses. I had a restless sleep last night, lots of tossing and turning. Hope I don't fizzle out on the hike, but I think perhaps it will rejuvenate me and it will be good to see my hiking friends again! Anyway I best get my back pack ready to go and head out the door. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone and I will catch up with you all tomorrow! Oh @vickyday thanks for the mojo!! I actually got a page done for Challenge #2 yesterday LOL.

@faerywings YAY for the good amount of rain you've been getting! I hope it stops long enough for you to enjoy the beach......but, tis the season, you know!
Yes, we had a wonderful time on Monday with our friends.....rain and all! Yes, we had actual biking rain gear. They had some jackets that appeared to be waterproof. We put the pants on when we left Applebee's for home after supper. However, they did not have pants so I'm sure they were soaked by the time they got home! We have gotten caught in a downpour before, and, yes, the rain feels like acupuncture all over the exposed parts of your body! Not fun! We had to pull over into a church parking lot. Thankfully, the church had a carport where people load and unload in front of the church doors!
Yeah, my oldest daughter (child #1, Jessica) is the only child interested in having all of the picture stuff and crafting stuff. That might change after I'm gone, however. Who knows! The youngest son (child #4, Nathanael) I can see wanting some stuff because he is more emotionally attached than the oldest son (child #2, Michael) who is his dad all over again....personality-wise, brain-wise, lack-of-emotion-wise, lol! And the youngest daughter (child #3, Elisabeth) got a minimalist gene from someone and doesn't want anything I offer her, lol! That will change when I'm gone, too! It did when her dad passed! She took all of his shirts and had someone make stuffed animals with his shirts and heart ornaments for her siblings and me for Christmas that year. That was a teary occasion, as you can imagine! I couldn't find a picture of the hearts, but you can see 2 of the stuffed animals below. The bear was for her son and the rabbits were for the daughters (only one pictured). They are beautiful! And I'm glad the kids were old enough when their grandpa died to remember him.
DSCN5450-web.jpg

@LSlycord YAY for you sleeping in! However, sounds like you had a good reason!

@BrightEyes so happy for you being able to spend time with your children!

@Cherylndesigns I meant to mention to you yesterday that your pool is gorgeous! I think you need to invite all of us down for a pool party! ;) Wouldn't that be a hoot!

@bcgal00 it was so good to hear from you and that you are alive and well! Don't push it! Be sure and rest LOTS!!!! If you feel the need.....JUST DO IT!!!!!!!

OK, I've got to get something to eat!
Have a great day, All!

Seriously...the time has gotten away from me this morning. The rescue lady that I work with on Decker called. His family was taking him for a walk with their other dog this morning. The two dogs got into a fight and the husband got bit trying to keep the dogs separated. They have told Mary (the rescue lady) that they cannot keep Decker. She thinks that she needs to make the tough decision to put Decker down...and I had to agree. Which is absolutely heart breaking. But we can't keep him permanently. The entire time that he was with us, we never left the dogs alone. I was pretty assertive whenever they were getting to excited...assertive as in the neighbors could probably hear me screaming from inside my closed up and air conditioned home while they were in their closed up and air conditioned home. I would not think of taking Decker for a walk with another dog and I'm pretty sure that my very young, athletic and strong kids would not suggest it either. Decker needs to be in a home with people that are accustomed to managing dogs...and yet they have no dogs. Pretty unlikely scenario. So, the good that I felt yesterday about how we were instrumental in keeping Decker alive and ready to live his best life has evaporated and I'm sitting here depressed. Anyway, on to personals...that will cheer me up.

@faerywings Shaun takes Zyrtec and Flonase so it's better than if he took nothing. But still a bit rough. And my goals didn't get a lot of traction yesterday...we will see if today goes better.

@BrightEyes so excited for you to spend time with your son and his wife plus your daughter. It will be awfully quiet there this weekend...but we will be glad to have you back here.

@vickyday your Mark is really talented. That will be so much fun to have that gathering place around the fire pit with a place to go if you get too cold. I love it! I have never tried fried green tomatoes...I guess I should now that I'm in the southern part of the country. And I love the bears that your daughter had made with her dad's clothes.

@taxed4ever oh my goodness about the in-laws looking at a house with stairs and more space than you have. Hopefully they realize quickly that it won't meet their needs. I'm glad that you get to go out and enjoy a hike...sounds like so much fun. I'm anxious to get some better weather so we can do a bit of that too.

@bcgal00 congratulations on testing negative. I hope that you were able to enjoy your hot tub time. This really hit you hard...I'm so glad that it didn't happen while you were on the cruise. Just take it slow.

@Betty Jo hope the visit with your brother was great!

@Cherylndesigns love that pool. It's going to be gorgeous when all of the landscaping is done...like it will ever be done...but you get the idea!

@Amandajk your grandson is a doll! And we have the same saying about the weather in Iowa. No need to have that saying in Florida.

@pachimac did I see that the diamond that you found wasn't your missing diamond? So sorry.

Good morning ladies. It felt good to get out of bed this morning and sit in the LR. Remi has been so good during my isolation that she started to head back up the stairs to bed after I got a coffee, she had adjusted so well to our routine of isolation that she would just go without any prompting. I'm feeling really fatigued and kind of foggy but the cough has subsided and my chest is tight but not too bad. I got thru yesterday by lying on the couch for an hour at a time, sitting in my chair for 5-10 min and then back to bed for an hour and was able to stay up and grill a burger for dinner. I will continue that today and might try scrapping a bit. Might start a LO, then work a few minutes here and there, to help focus my brain and get used to sitting for a bit. This illness is so crazy, I just don't understand the fatigue, it is so overwhelming. But I am happy to be on the mend, albeit so slowly.

Jen has again talked to the owner of the kennel and she will iron out some details soon, probably starting next wk. The woman has been in business for about 40 years and Jen is excited about learning how to groom. It will be part time so she can ease slowly back into the work field.

@faerywings You got lots done yesterday, good for you. I hope to be productive soon too :) Hope you get a good movie to watch.

@LSlycord The time passed quickly, Decker gone already. Good luck on the job.

@vickyday That's exciting about the cabin building proceeding. Fingers crossed for Oct completion.

@taxed4ever Enjoy the hike today.

I'm going to rest for a bit. BFN

Rae, you can expect a couple more weeks of the fatigue, at least, sorry to say! Are you taking any vitamins/supplements? Here is what the doctor had me taking for a month, beginning when the illness started, but it wouldn't hurt to start now, I'm sure:
1. one full aspirin per day (325mg). Not baby aspirin, unless you have a medical reason you cannot take aspirin.
2. vitamin D3 (15,000 international units daily)
3. zinc 100mg per day of the elemental zinc - This is the equivalent of taking fourteen 50mg zinc gluconate tablets per day. I was taking hydroxychloroquine and the zinc was to help it work better.
4. famotidine (or pepcid) 40mg per day
5. melatonin 10mg before bedtime (helps to cause drowsiness). I had NO trouble sleeping and was taking tylenol pm as usual.
6. Quercetin 250mg 2 x per day
7. curcumin (or tumeric) 500mg 2 x daily
8. vitamin C 500mg to 1000mg 2 x daily
Many of these recommendations are from the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC). These measures are intended to prevent the most severe complications due to covid-19 that can occur 2-3 weeks into the illness; but also to prevent the Long Haul Covid Syndrome that can cause symptoms for months or even years! You are doing well to get up every hour during the day to prevent blood clots. Try to get some fresh air when you can.

All of this is quoted from the protocol paper the doctor gave to me at the beginning of the illness.
You should probably talk to your doctor first about any and all of this, however!

Praying for quick recovery for you! #kiss

Good afternoon all.

I'm exhausted today! Two days of long car rides (back to back) have about done me in. You know I have bad motion sickness and have to take medication to ride for more than 30 minutes. They take their toll on me in the end. I'm feeling the dopy effects today. Ava and I had a good time together in her new car and it gave us time to talk without interruption. Her car feels exactly like the Cameros we used to have - it doesn't ride rough, and the muffler isn't so loud that we couldn't talk. It took us about an hour to get to Muskogee and we stopped at Chic-filet (sp) on the way back, then ran into Hobby Lobby. She had to get back to work, so we didn't have a lot of time. I found a great tall, skinny sign for my front porch - it says "Hey Friends" on the white side and you turn it over and it says "Happy Fall" on the orange side. I sat it beside the front door, and it looks so good. It was a super bargain - half off so I only paid $20 for it!

You're ALL invited to a pool party!! All you have to do is get here. Hahaha We call the trip to where we live "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". Well, no trains, but lots of planes and automobiles. There's only one non-stop plain - Allegient - and it only flies in here 3 days a week. If you live in Florida, it flies out of there - not sure where else, but not too many places. The fare is very cheap, but they Nickle and dime you to death. You even have to pay for a boarding pass, and one carry-on. NO bells and whistles on that airline.

I'll have to come ack and do personals - Adrienne's on her way down and I'm not even dressed. Chris @faerywings this is what we were talking about "time to change out of my night pajamas into my day pajamas". BWAHAHA

We did this treatment as well and I am still taking the C and D. None of us had it bad and Mike's was the fastest gone. He took Ivermectin and it was gone so fast. Mine started on a weekend and I was already on day 5 when I got my positive that it was too late to take the Ivermectin. The doctor told us to keep the Zinc, vitamin C and D regimen going so we are still doing those, but Melissa never did because she cannot swallow pills. A few months ago Melissa got it again, but neither of us did.

@LSlycord Yes, you read correctly. It was not my diamond. It was glass. She tested it with a conductivity pen - apparently, diamonds record very hot and conduct heat well. Mine didn't even show the slightest heat. I'm bummed, but at the same time, I'm trying to look at it that this is a new diamond for the next 25 years!!

Our Vow Renewal plans are heating up. Originally we were only going to do the renewal at the church, but now my FIL says he wants to host a little get-together afterwards with a cake. SOOOOO, I'm cake shopping. Wow. So many things to choose from!! We are going to use our cake topper from our wedding, and the same colors of flowers I had in my bouquet on the cake.

Here are some of the contenders:
I shared the choices with Michael and we are honing in on a small square yet elegant cake.

1. With only 2 layers, our cake topper (4), blue/lavender/pink flowers to match it, and some decorated icing like #3.

Completely as is but with our cake topper and flower choices.

Some friends at church gave me some ivermectin to take over the weekend until I could get to the doctor on Monday. The doctor said he thought I would do well on hydroxychloroquine, so he gave that to me instead of ivermectin. As soon as I started the hydroxychloroquine and antibiotic that horrible headache eased up! I felt better on Tuesday, for sure! I was just soooo tired for 2 or 3 weeks! I've gone back to the FLCCC website and want to start taking some of the vitamins and supplements again. The probiotics they recommend are pretty expensive! But I'm going to get them because I have digestive problems anyway.

Love my O Family!

You ladies all lead such active lives!! You always have something interesting to say. Me? My life is the same ole over and over again - which is fine because I don't want drama, but sometimes it seems like time is just flashing by and nothing is getting done!

@vickyday you said:
1. one full aspirin per day (325mg).

Forgot to mention that I like the movement of the icing on #4, too! The colors in the flowers in the vase are beautiful! Love your cake topper!

The Quercetin gave me wicked diarrhea and cramps. I stopped it as soon as I was better. Lol
