CHEERY O
How long do you think it is going to take me to get into the new "back to school" routine? All of these changing days and times and days off. Iy iy yi! :p

Cait came downstairs a bit ago, to have her coffee and chat. (I think she really just comes down for the dogs) and Jaida started to bark. I looked at the time and it was "Nemesis," real name Bambi, the dog that J has to bark her head off for. That also means it would be time for the bus, since we would see Nemesis at the bus stop. If nothing else, calmer mornings are *very* nice.

Except.
This morning, just after I started this post, I heard what sounded like the Recycling Trucks. They come anywhere from 7am to 5pm, but usually in the middle. We can't put cans out the night before b/c of the bears. I check the Google Calendar, looks like it is Bottles and cans. I am in my pjs, with two different shoes on, dragging both cans to the curb. I am not wearing my glasses b/c they are for distance mostly and I can't see the computer screen. But it sure as heck looks like my neighbors have out Paper. Run back in, squint at the calendar, and yup, Paper. Run back out, with the bucket with Cardbd and drag the other 2 cans back in. Now I feel like I smell like yucky recycling cans.

So much for "calm"

Christopher had a great day at school yesterday- loved his teacher, smiled for all his pictures. Yay! I checked the paint job and while it doesn't look great, I said whatever no one will notice after I put the bathroom back together. So i did that and i looks pretty good.

Today is food shopping yippee. I am trying a new recipe tonight, broccoli pesto spaghetti. I hope it is good, I will let you know.

Better wrap this up, and get in the shower. xoxoxo

Kat- how did it go with the plumber? I hope that you didn't have to wait too long. Give belly rubs to Haddie!

hahahha! Nancy- that is too funny about trying to get everyone out of the house. What happened with the strike vote?
The game sounds like a lot of fun. No PS4 here however.

Trudy- Oh how nice to spend time on the sailboat. I have only been on a sailboat once, years and years ago, we sailed up the Hudson River to West Point NY- and it really was so peaceful. To be able to do that with DS and the grands! Oh man, you must have been in heaven :)
Your arms and shoulders must be tired with the windows, and the house must be looking amazing with al of the work you and your Gary are doing.

Rae- Thanks for the TV rec's. I looked up Blacklist Redemption, I didn;t knwo there was going to be a spin off. I will add that to the list. The others- not so sure about. We might try Bull. other than that, no idea!

hugs to all!

Morning Ladies. The contractor visit was ... disappointing and frustrating. Of COURSE, he couldn't find a leak. Uh-Huh. Nothing upstairs. Ran the water for 10+ minutes ... flushed the toilet a bajillion times. NOTHING! :censored: Cut a 1 ft. square hole in the ceiling downstairs to check the pipes and while the ceiling is damp, that's about it. More of this: :censored:

His best guess is the water leak is from the faucet in the vanity (we saw it leaking out of the handle assembly) and it's running back down, inside the vanity, tracking down the pipes. He advice: use the heck out of the bathroom and let him know if we see an active leak. DUDE - we have a hole in the ceiling right above our tv!! Damn right we'll let you know if water's dripping on our tv!

Now we're trying to find a not-to-costly renovation contractor to come an re-do the bathroom upstairs and the half bath downstairs. It needs to be done, so this kinda forced our hand. The pipes and connections in upstairs vanity are REALLY corroded and the guy figured could be a 50:50 chance of going at any time.

Oh well, had the chance to work from home and spend it with Haddie :) She was my shadow the whole day. Like literally right at my feet. I moved. She moved. :pupkiss:

Tomorrow is Bill's cataract and lens replacement surgery. I think he's starting to get a little nervous about it. They won't actually be knocking him out - he'll be in like twilight and relaxed, but still awake. *** shudder ***

Better get back to work - have a 10:30 meeting with the CEO to prepare for! Will be back later! :)

Morning ladies... quickly popping in to say good morning and then I need to get things together to go on my hike today. It's going to be a hike near my old stomping grounds in Youbou. That's the little town where I grew up and its about a 25 min drive from here. We are going up Mt. Good and the hike should be a good one. I have never done this one before and really hoping that the rain holds off!

Chris - Hard to get into a new routine, but it will soon be the norm for you! Too funny about the garbage day! My DH is always on top of it and has his cans out there before anyone else, but then he leaves very early for work. Then I think everyone else watches what he puts out on the curb LOL. When the fruit flies get really bad we stop doing the kitchen organics and that really screws up the neighbours :becky: Have you ever watched Narcos on Netflix? The second season is out now and DH and I have really been enjoying it! It's a bit violent, but hey its about Pablo Escobar so you kinda have to expect that!

Kat - That's too bad that the plumber never really found anything, all that waiting and now you have a hole in your ceiling! Well at least you can look forward to new bathrooms!! Hope you can find someone that won't break the bank! Another busy day for you at work, hope that your meeting goes well! Have a great day!

Ok I gotta get going and get some breakfast and get out the door. We meet in Lake Cowichan at 9:30 and I still have to pack a snack and a lunch. Have a fun Wednesday everyone!

Good morning ladies. I'm another one that is popping in quick and then getting out of here. I forgot that Beckham is coming today (for 3 wks) so have been rushing around de-Beckhaming the house (some toys/bones put away), putting different blankets over the couch and chairs b/c he sheds a lot more and gets wet dirty fur so don't want that on my cream/beige couch/chair. Vacuumed, swept and dusted b/c he has such sensitive skin, the cleaner the house the better, for him. It's going to be a crazy month with juggling everything but the good news is that the money will be put away to help offset the lack of money in January when my main client will be away for a month and I'll not make much money then. So now I'm going to get some files typed, get over to take Ava and Taz to the park for an hour, pop into the grocery store and then rush home to be ready for Beckham's arrival at noon. Whew.

Chris - I laughed about the recycling story LOL. Sounds like me. Last night Darrell and I were in the kitchen for about 1/2 hr reading and using our phone app to try to figure out how to sort stuff into the recycling. We have 3 bins and they are fining people now for making mistakes. We got a notice last wk that we will be fined if they find anything out of place in our bins. Fingers crossed. We are trying really hard to figure it all out but its so confusing. My solution is to dump it on the lawn and let the bears take it LOL. Just kidding. Oh, and some of our stuff can't even go in any bin so we have to drive to a drop off recycle place to bring some of it.

Trudy - have a wonderful hike today. I'm always jealous of the gorgeous landscapes you hike through.

Kat - ugh....how frustrating.

Ok, gotta go...have a great day, everyone.

good afternoon - just a quick hello. My DH and son thought that the dog still has an ear infection though I disagreed so my DH tells my son to make an appointment which he does and then tells me after it is made. So of course neither of them ask me and well of course Luther had he bi-week bath today at the same time. Really! Luckily the bath people are so nice they could change it for me. Luther does not have an ear infection but still seems itchy so his is back on anti histamine which is good. I don't know whether he sleeps because of the anti histamine or because he is not itchy so he can sleep. Oh if he could only talk. The union did not vote to strike but still cannot work because the University has locked them out. So he is on an informative picket line not a strike picket line. He is just hoping they get it done soon. Me too!

Chris can't wait to hear if the recipe works out. It must be strange to have the kids home at different times on different days. It will take time to figure out the schedule.

Kat wow that is something that the leak could not be found and now you have a hole! Good luck with finding contractors. New bathrooms sound so good! I would love to redo mine but it still works.

Trudy I saw those sailing photos - wow what an awesome day. My DH wants to retire to a sailboat. I would think about retiring to a yacht LOL.

Have a great day all!
