I am back and I didn't duct-tape my parents' mouths shut once! Are ya proud of me?
They were actually pretty good, I only had to scold them a few times. LOL!
I feel like I have been gone for weeks, a lot of stuff got crammed into a few days. I had to go back to my last post on Sunday to catch up with myself. heh. I did log in on my phone every day to check on Marley but I wasn't able to read more than that. How kids these days do everything on their phones amazes me. Of course, they don't have old people vision
I was really relieved to hear that Marley was holding her own especially since Otter took a turn for the worse before I left on Sunday morning. I spent most of the morning with her and Caitlyn snuggling her. Cait called me soon after I got to PA that she had died. We video-called when they buried her so I was sort of there with her. It wasn't a surprise, we knew the cortisone was temporary but still. And my heart was with Scott and Sam, it was a rough time for her and the family. Not easy to be away from them.
My dad and I talked the entire day on Sunday, from 11 a.m. when we left here until almost 9 at night. I think my mom was a little put off because she had no interest in what we were talking about. Which was kind of everything under the sun. *G* It's the strangest thing that my brother and my mom say that he isn't "all there." I have a theory and it isn't that nice. I think he is bored by my mom and tunes her out. I love her dearly but she only talks about her health/meds/sodium and potassium in her diet. I love him dearly and I think he could be much nicer to her and vice-versa. But I'll tell ya, for someone who is almost 85, he is sharp as a tack. I painted their new door and it looks very nice (in spite of the two small places that I missed, no one can see it but me but *I* know they are there haha!). I spread some pea gravel and wood chips. I had to stop both of those projects because he was insisting on helping me. I get it, he needs to feel useful but shoveling rocks into a wheelbarrow? C'mon, man! Sheesh! There has to be some middle ground for him.
I have a lot of catching up to do around home and around the O. Scott is coming home from another camping trip so I have to start my laundry ASAP.
Big hugs to everyone!
