And it has begun- back to school for my kids. Scott's first class is at 9 and Cait's is at 11. Both are awake and getting ready to go. So far, no stress or anxiety attacks. Whew!! (although there is still time for that :D)

I hope that Leah is doing ok. She has been really anxious about the master's program, thinking that it is going to be too hard. I was teasing her before dinner the other night and felt terrible when I noticed that she was crying. She always wants to make sure that she isn't imposing by being here, especially for dinner so I was "scolding" her that she is like my daughter and she never has to feel unwelcome. Then I looked at her face, she bursts into tears and OMG- I know that I didn't make her cry but wow, I felt so bad and all I could do was hug her. Any good vibes that you have for her would be super appreciated. Thank you!!

I got easy meals planned for Gary and the kids for next week. I put them on the chalkboard with stars next to them so they can easily figure out what to cook. Now I only have to get myself prepared. As you all know, just packing my meds tends to be a panic-inducing activity.
I spent about an hour outside (yes, the sun was hot!) collecting morning glory seeds and cutting back the dead vines. I found a 3" long praying mantis. I had to call Scott and Leah so they could come out and see him. He had to be one of the biggest that I had ever seen. They are so darn cute. I got a picture with my iPod but it is really old and I am not even sure how to get pictures off of it :p

Today I am cleaning and then I have a bunch of household chores like bills and some mortgage-related tasks that I have been putting off a bit. I really need to figure out what I am doing for the September Birthday Bash too. That will be here before I know it.

I am running a tiny bit behind schedule, so I have to do short personals today. :sorry:

Trudy- oh no, sorry that your arms are in so much pain. Have you been able to find turmeric? It takes a bit of time to reduce inflammation so you might need pain meds/NSAIDS in the meantime. But didn't the weeding make them hurt more? How are your Gary's knees doing?

That is awesome that you are starting your hikes back up again. Enjoy the day outside!

Angela- me too- I cannot imagine having a pool at home. I did when I was a kid but I wish I had one now. You must have your hands full with 3 teens and tweens.

Nancy- Ugh, that is too much about not having a car! How funny to walk outside and not seeing it in the driveway. I bet Luther stayed in the basement all day- it was hot. Hope that he is happier with the cooler temps today.

Jean- how was your genealogy group meeting? My BFF and I were laughing so hard coming out of the pool and then we had to do the "gymnastics landing" with our arms in the air. We are so goofy.

Rae- I hope that all of the work was finished quickly
Trudy- yay for coffee!! :cof3:

angela- Good to hear that you have a less humid day today.

felis- hope all is well with you!

I hope the first day of school goes well!! :D We just started our second week of me homeschooling Chloe for 7th Grade since we had to move into a new rental house in a different area - it is going well, so far :) I am concerned about her not being able to be around her friends at school, and I am getting involved in some homeschool groups in the area - we are actually meeting for lunch with a daughter and mother today from a FB group...hopefully the girls will get along :hippie:

I looooove praying mantis'!!! Wait, is that correct? Mantis', not mantises, or mantissesesses? LOL I am just now starting my coffee drip...I think I was right the first time :cof3:

Anyhoo, finally starting to get back into the swing of things now that my computer is set up...just need to get into a creative mood now! I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!!! :elephant

good morning - back from the dentist and I stopped at the store for a few needed supplies, like ice cream LOL. Last night dinner's was good but weird LOL to me - it was steak with garlic green bean and polenta with cheese and butter and a peach/jalepeno/lime salsa. I would never think to put that together in one meal but it was delish! Tonight is Panera's. My husband's first class is tonight and son is always happy when I bring him home Panera's for lunch the next day. Last night's tennis was something but could not stay up to see the end. I was hoping the young kid Thiem would defeat Nadal but nope Nadal won with a tie breaker in the 5th set and it was after 2am in the morning. I got two more years backed up. I really do now have a lot to delete. And the weird part is for a while my DIL photos were showing up in my photos and so I have to figure out what to do with those and whether or not they want them. Today is more of the same but with a bright white smile.

Chris wow I am impressed you were out in this weather. But next year with the morning glory seeds the house will look awesome in bloom. Sending wishes to all the kids for a great year and awesome classes. That is sad that Leah is stress and you know she is such a good student. She is still getting used to your families teasing even after all this time. Hope the day goes well.

Trudy have fun on the hike. Glad you are having a great day to hike.

Rae wow back log and then more work on top of that. Well you will be busy! hope it goes well.

Jenn I so admire any one who home schools. The structure that both you and your child have to have is something that I would so struggle with. Have fun meeting other homeschooling families.

Angela glad the weather got better. And that is interesting about the differences in the various Autistic spectrum. I have to hope that research will begin to sort this out to help parents, teachers and all affected.

Jean how did the meeting go. You always seem to have fun though. How funny you make it sound like most restaurants are not open on holidays because that is not the case in my area. I think they love the holidays because who wants to cook in the heat "lets go out".

Felis! waving hi!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies.... waving :hello: before heading out the door for my hike. Sorry I can't stay here longer, but I have to get a move on, I am late and have been facetiming with Heather and Hunter. Hunter keeps hanging up on us LOL. He tries to kiss me on the iPad and ends up hanging up. So cute, but anyway I am running very late and need to get my backpack ready to go. I will try to be back here later on to catch up with all of you and hopefully finish the page I started yesterday. At the rate I am scrapping it will most likely take me a year to finish just the photos of Paris, never mind the other 200 photos I took of the time with the kids this summer :becky: Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Sunny but hot here with schools closed for the heat again. We have bird club meeting this evening and will go out to dinner after, so will have some hours of A/C. Yesterday was nice with the lunch board meeting.

Chris, maybe Leah was just overwhelmed with the affection? I'm sure it was rough for you to see her cry though. Good wishes to all for a successful day.

Jenn, good wishes to you also for the home schooling and making connections.

Nancy, funny seeing your comment on Nadal. I remember when I was happy he came along so finally there was someone who could beat Federer. I still cheer for both of them. Saw Sloane Stephens lose and that was sad.

Trudy, bet you're having a wonderful time on your hike and getting back to the island nature.

Rae, Angela, Sharon, Felis, hi to all.
