GooooOd morning, O-Fam!! Hope that you are all doing well. Thank goodness that I slept better last night. I can't remember if I mentioned, but I had woken up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep. By late afternoon, I was so punchy, I felt a bit drunk. I woke up at 4.30 this morning but listened to a morning affirmation meditation and that helped me get into a better frame of mind.
I was able to get a bunch of stuff done yesterday- laundry, tidied the kitchen, yard work. Dilly's appt went well, the abscess is getting much smaller and the vet Rx'd 7 more days of abx. She should be good to go. Whew! And again, he only charged for meds. That vet is amazing.
My mom called last night when she got home from the Dr. She didn't see him, just the tech, so she has no information yet. She sees the tech again this morning for the scan on her legs. Once he gets all of the reports, he will go over everything with her. One good thing when we spoke last night is that she didn't sound as panicky as she had earlier in the day.
I am off to the grocery store this morning. Then I really have to get working on some Oscraps things. I slacked all summer and need to step up my game. I have to get a gift for Leah's birthday soon too. Amazon Prime-- I am coming at ya! And I will wait for my mom to call when she gets home from the Dr. Now I am not stressing over the weather for next week, I am stressing that she isn't going to be physically able to go down the shore. We can't get the money back for the hotel at this point. As long as her heart is OK, I am fine with driving down and just staying at the hotel and beach. The beach is right across the street from where were are staying, there is also a pool and restaurant in the hotel. So even if we do nothing but read books at the hotel, I am OK with that. I just want her to feel better.
Caitlyn is off to school today, the first day of her senior year. She has her Capstone Seminar. It is a course that accumulates all of the stuff that she has learned in her major and applies it to a specific topic. the course she is taking is focusing on the Psychology of Black Experience - that isn't the accurate name but close. Should be fascinating. I hope that she will teach me a lot too. I am listening to a podcast that is a companion to the NYT's 1619 Project and is chilling and eye-opening for sure.
Wishing all of you a very happy day today!
