I am getting a late start today. I didn't want to get out of bed, not at all. I am all pooped out.
I was pretty busy yesterday, mostly with the pumpkins. I have 4 of them all finished and have the lopsided one left to stuff and close up. I have to admit, they did come out kind of cute, mistakes and all. I will try to take a pic of them later on.

My house- while 90% deep-cleaned- is a disaster with piles of stuff all over. Tackling that will be on my to-do list for today. Meanwhile, it looks like the US and the UK have political firestorms rolling through and four named storms in the Atlantic in between them. Very apropos. Ha!!
I spoke to my mom after her Dr appt and he is pleased with how things are moving along. She goes back next week for another recheck since he is changing doses on her meds again. But she sounds so much better. I wish that she would eat a bit more. I think that some of her lack of energy is because she is barely eating.

Cute moment of the day: Caitlyn texts me yesterday afternoon- asks me if I want her to pick up a box of wine for me. (Yeah, I drink wine from a box, sue me LOL). Sure, why not? She gets home and wasn't carded again. Then she tells what really transpired. She was in the liquor store, looking for something that she might actually enjoy. She was the only person in there and felt a bit overwhelmed. She didn't want to walk out emptyhanded after wandering around for so long so she asked if I wanted anything. What a goof! After she babysat, she popped into the smaller liquor store on the way home (My town has *one* place to buy groceries but liquor stores are everywhere) and found a bottle of iced coffee vodka. She *finally* got carded which made her happy too.

today is a GMST- (get my s*** together)- day. Wish me luck!

Jean- hope you had a great time out in the marsh yesterday. Kind of like how I asked Scott when he got home from Field Work yesterday, How were the woods? :)

Trudy- great news about the rain and water levels.
Oh my goodness, what a sad thing to happen to your neighbors. Truly heartbreaking.
Hope that the weather is good for your hike!

Nancy- Fab day that you had- all of your favorite things to do.
My nose and eyes were bad, then good, and now bad again. Definitely ragweed. Boo.

Felis- oooh, be careful with your eye. Hope that it gets better really quickly.

Hugs, everyone!

Morning ladies... I was bad and did not make it back in here yesterday to catch up with all of you. Seems there is always something going on to keep me from being on this computer LOL. Got my hair cut and coloured yesterday morning and had a great talk with my hairdresser, she was telling me how so many young people think nothing of taking their own lives, that social media has had such a negative impact on their lives!! She hears them saying to others that when they have children they will never let them have access to all the online stuff until they are way older than when they started using facebook etc. She says it is so sad that all the young girls think they need to have hair extensions, lash extensions and botox. These are all very young girls around 13 years of age!! Can you imagine??? It was strange that I was the only person getting my hair done that morning, the salon is huge but all the chairs were empty. LOL Anyway I went to Winners and did a bit of shopping, looking for a new pair of shoes/boots something short and waterproof to kick around in, but found nothing. I did come out of the store with a new pair of jeans and a jean jacket. Not sure I will keep the jacket though. I have never been one to wear jean jackets, we will see. So when I got home there was a parcel sitting on the front porch, some new die cuts and stamps for my card making. So of course I had to try them out LOL. Then started to work on another turtle painting, which is going to be pretty good I hope and before I knew it DH was walking through the door from work. Where did the time go? :noidea: So much for finishing my scrap page!! Today I am off to my hike in Osborne Bay and that will take up a good portion of my day. Oh well there is always tomorrow right??

Chris - Hope you get your to do list done today! We also drink wine from a box, when DH doesn't have his home made wine ready and we are out, we will pick up a box, so no judgement from me LOL. Nice that Cait was thinking of you in the Liquor store and hope she enjoys her Iced Coffee Vodka. Too cute that she was happy to be carded :pound: Glad to hear that things are going well for your Mother, but hope she starts to eat a bit more to keep her energy levels up!! Have a good time finishing your pumpkins, they sound so cute! Yes please share with a photo!!

Nancy - I wonder if that is why my eyes were watering so much last week?? Ragweed? I will have to see if that is something that we have around here. It is much better this week, but man my eyes were horrible and I was constantly wiping them. Never had that happen before. :mmph: Your chicken meal sounds so yummy!! I would never think to add nectarine to rice :hungry: Sounds like yesterday was filled with all your favourite things to do! How is the afghan coming along?

Jean - Hope you had a great time with your birding at the Marsh!!

Felis - Oh my I hope that your eye is ok!! Looking forward to hearing about your time at the theatre!! Take care of you!!

Alright I best get my lunch packed and get some water in backpack. It looks like it will be an overcast day, but no rain so far. Will pack my raincoat just in case though. Have a great day ladies!!

good morning - well yesterday was pretty low key. I did not watch the Emmys but I did look to see who won. One of the big winners was a show called Fleabag and the star won best actress. I think they say it is a comedy but I did not find it all that funny but I found I could not stop watching it and finished both season 1 and 2. Each season is on 6 episodes and each is only 30 min. I really had to get to episode 3 before I just had to keep watching. It is a British comedy. Any way I suggest watching. So I did more knitting but while watching the show I did two rows wrong so pulled out the whole thing and started over LOL. Weather today is gorgeous! Blue skies and low humidity. Last night had salmon for dinner and the boys said it was awesome but I don't really like salmon but the side dishes were fantastic. This time to the rice they suggested adding chopped garlic and chopped white ends of scallions. Wow it turned out so tasty. Again no leftovers so that is great.

Chris glad you got so much done. Really awesome to hear how well your mom is doing. I know for me it is hard to eat a lot when I don't like to cook. Does she still like to cook when it is just the two of them. Funny about Cait. I took my son and his friend out to dinner so they could order drinks and get carded. And yes so much is going on in our country!

Trudy again that is something about 13 year olds and how they just have so much pressure to look just right. It is a shame. Again so sad about your neighbor's son. Have fun on the hike.

Jean hope there were lots of birds at the Marsh. We are starting to see hawks and geese making their way south.

Felis that is scary about your eye. Rest it from computers. Take care!

Have a great

We had a lovely day yesterday and the new marsh is coming along very well. Of course, before it was ever a farm, the whole area was marshland. There are other parks and wildlife areas in the vicinity and we visited two of them. Saw lots of birds, but not much in the way of land birds. But before we left home we had two warblers and a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker (a kind of woodpecker that is a migrant here) were in our backyard. Today we're birding again, but closer to home. Weather should be great again too.

Chris, organizing stuff must be harder than cleaning. Good luck with it. Why is your mom eating so little? Maybe you can convince here the cause doesn't require less eating? Yay for the pumpkins!

Trudy, you have such busy days! Know you're out enjoying the hike.

Nancy, your dinners always sound so good whether BA or not. Bet you're getting nice weather today.

Felis, hope you are staying off the computer and letting the eye heal. Sad it happened to you. We can wait to hear about the theater till you're better. Hope otherwise autumn is nice there.

Morning, gals... been up since 6:00AM. Temps down in the 40's when I got up so only opened a couple of windows. Afternoons are still in the lower 80's - about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. Ended up pulling a sweatshirt cardigan on in the afternoon as I was cold. Not sure why as the house temp was 76. Pretty sure allergies are the reason my head is stuff and achey. Watching "Country" on PBS each night. Wow... it is so great to hear some of those songs from my past. Not sure how many more episodes are coming as they haven't reach the turn of the century yet. Not a huge "Country" fan... but realize that I know and enjoy a lot of the music they have shown.

Finally got my Oct challenge LO done. Realized I was getting down to the wire on getting it done. So much will be going on the first part of October...Digital Scrapbooking Day...plus the regular challenges, MiniO's, etc. Feel like a kid waiting for Christmas!! LOL

Gotta run... company coming. CYL
