It is an eventful day today. Happy Autumnal Equinox for those of you who celebrate that and "G'mar Hatimah Tovah"for those of you who celebrate Yom Kippur.
Me-- I am celebrating that I slept until 7am, since Cait doesn't have school.:pound:

yesterday was a crafty day for me. I painted acorns. For hours. Who knew painting acorns would take so long? Then having to find the caps that matched after some had fallen off? So silly! but they look neat and I even painted a bunch red/white/black to match the Mickey Mouse theme of my kitchen. I will put them in a small mason jar up on one of the shelves by my sink.

Cait's appt went well, she was pleased with the changes that she made but still needs to eat more protein. That is so hard since she eats few protein-rich foods, but we will get there. We go back next month and will see how she is doing. I can't believe that all of this is free. Thank goodness!

My pain is still so bad and I don't like it. I haven't worked with Jaida at all with her training b/c I am scared if she pulls me, I am going to be in even worse shape. I am thinking that the house is going to look exactly like it does right now for the party. Oh well, it is only family. They won't judge.

Nothing major on my schedule today- same old stuff, plus blood work. I should wash those wine glasses that got "smoothied" the other day.I also want to finish the painted pumpkins- I got some pumpkins at the dollar store, spray painted them a nice glassy black and today I want to dip the bottom halves into some glitter and beads. Our Halloween theme is going to be a Gothic-y seance and Gary already made a fake- moving Ouija board planchette with some magnets, and the motor from an old rock tumbler that we had. It is a drawer from Cait's old dresser (a Craiglist curb find that had been re-purposed into more things I can count) on its side with the motor mounted inside. We asked his mom for some black fabric and will staple that around the edges for a curtain. Gary is going to paint a vintage Ouija board on where the planchette will be moving around.

MIL is also bringing up some fake tea lights for me and I am going to be making "floating candles" a la Hogwarts out of toilet paper tubes.

I love Halloween!! :wickedwitch

hahaha!!!!!

I had better post this and get moving, I can't believe that it is almost 9am!

have a fantabulous day!

Morning all... another sunny and cool morning and I slept like a baby last night  I love the cooler nights!! Yesterday the pool was very busy! I wish I could find a time that was perfect to go, really early in the morning all the people who workout before heading to work are there, later in the morning is also busy, afternoon the schools have the swim lessons and it takes away 2-3 lap lanes. I thought that going on Tues./Thurs would be less busy, but it doesn't seem to be. Oh well I should just grin and bear it and be happy that the facility is being used so much! I really need to work on being a more positive person :becky:

Chris - Hope your same old day goes along smoothly and you get all the smoothie stuff off of your wine glasses! Sounds like you are in full Halloween mode at your house and its not even the end of September yet. LOL sounds like you have been in a very creative mood lately also!! I would love to see those pine cones that you painted!! Happy first day of Autumn to you also!!

Jean - How nice to hear that you are feeling so much better!! Isn't it just wonderful when you sleep well at night!! Its like a fresh start!!

Claire - Such a great plan on how to purchase your scrap stash!! Congrats on the GSO also!!

Sharron - Reading about your lunch yesterday made my mouth start to drool LOL! I love lots of mayo too (thought that was a Canadian thing) Sounds like a great gourmet lunch to me!! The beauty of where you live sounds very much like here, we think we live in paradise sounds like you do too!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, I am off for a walk this morning and then back to some scrapping and more painting for the growth chart for my sister. I keep changing my mind as to what should go on it so starting over again :mmph:

yep Shar in lieu of the golf I reckon a GC would be a grand idea and buy a bit a day to spread the joy.

The swimming sounds difficult to find a good time Trudy, it is a bit like that here BUT I think the Thursday mornings is good for Robbie as those in are lane swimmers so dont impinge on his length swims.

Sounds like Cait had a good appt with RD , Chris.

I went for a walk this morning and explored down towards the old village, I met two sets of Coast to coast walkers, and one stopped to ask me the way they were from America and had chosen a pretty good way to spend their three weeks in this country. I aso went and looked at the church and village hall notice boards to see what activities are available, and as there was a drop in coffee morning at the church I went along and learned quite a bit about the things in the area.
I have been doing some more scrapbooking, love the just for fun type when it isnt a challenge.
Getting excited now, just a big kid I am really we go on Monday so that is 5 more sleeps!

Chris, painting all those acorns sounds like quite a job. Would dipping them work? I have recently discovered that I really don't like getting my hands dirty or messy. Maybe that's why I hate gardening. Even when cooking, I have to have a kitchen towel dedicated to wiping my hands off every few minutes. I don't like the whole washing with water routine while cooking, and discovered that having lots of towels solved my problem. But as much as I LOVED paper crafting/card-making/INKING/embossing, I hated that my hands were always icky. Enter DIGITAL! :D

Glad Cait's appt. went well. Hope your pain subsides.

All alone at the pool again today. I'm going to buy the lifeguard a Starbuck's gift card as a token of my appreciation. I know. She's paid to do what she does, but how boring must it be for her to sit and watch me swim back and forth for an hour? Before consulting with you, Trudy, I'd found some body wash that is meant for swimmers. It arrived (love Amazon) yesterday, and I tried it this morning. My skin doesn't smell like chlorine. My suit is soaking with some of the bathing suit treatment right now. :) How odd that your pool is so over-crowded, and mine is almost empty.

Off to have coffee with a friend I haven't seen for a couple months. She's had some major changes in her life, so it is time to catch up.

Another beautiful day. Lovin' this.

OH! Hi Claire. Usually it is Trudy and me who are cross-posting. Your day in the village sounds wonderful. I'm an anglophile--love all books and TV shows and movies set in little English villages. Always wondering what America would be like if the Brits had won the Revolutionary War. hehehe

I continue to feel fine! Yesterday my sister finally went home where her daughter (from California) will be with her until the end of the year. However, her oncologist doesn't feel she can withstand chemo anymore and just got one infusion. Don't know what the future will hold.

Chris, I love your descriptions of the Halloween fixings. Sounds really fun and that can only be good. Happy that Cait is coming along with the RD and free sure is good. Hoping the pain comes down for you today!!!

Trudy, like Sharron, I wonder how your pools can be so different in usage. Sure hope you find a good time, but both of you are an inspiration in your swimming efforts. Agree with the good sleep and cool night pleasure.

Claire, your walk in the village also sounds like a delight! Hard to imagine from my suburban US environment but I think we'd all enjoy joining you.

Sharron, the GC for the lifeguard sounds like a winner. How sweet of you to see and care. Still, glad you have the luxury of the empty pool. Even better now with skin and suit care products!

Best of whatever you celebrate today!
