shhhhhhhhh, I have a secret.......

Promise not to tell??

Its Caitlyn's birthday today!!!

 did I say that out loud?
For some reason, my goofy DD doesn't want anyone to know. SMH. She is 13 today, but for some reason it feels like she has been a teenager much longer, say around 5 years now.... :) hahah!!

I pretty much moped around yesterday, hugged my other dog lots and lots. i took Harley's collar and tags out of my purse from Monday and she went bonkers on me. She kept jumping on me and trying to grab them from me. She keeps asking to outside, but then looks around instead.

I finally made my gravy- I can't remember if it was Phyllis or Maureen who commented on the gravy/macaroni words. But it is true- gravy is "sauce" to non-Italians and all pasta is macaroni. For a fine-tuning of the vernacular, gravy is homemade and sauce is what comes from a jar. I rarely make gravy any more so I made a double batch to freeze. Cooking can be very comforting.

Today I am sucking it up and getting work done around here, doing the food shopping that i blew off yesterday. Cait asked for Chicken Kiev for dinner tonight so I have to get going with that too.

Better get running, I know I have been horrible with personals, but I will try to get back in a bit. I have to watch my neighbors 2 kids the next couple of mornings too, and get them to the bus stop since she has been subbing in our school district.

Anyway......

WWW:
I wish and want my babygirl to have a very happy birthday and to have an amazing year ahead!

(uh-oh, I said it out loud again.... ;) )

Morning Chris- and shhh Happy Birthday to Cait! Early day at work today- yday wore me out- I tried to long distance help out my SIL future DIL who worked at getting her out of the hotel and into the hospital- looks like not long now- given her pain and discomfort- I am hoping sooner. Sadly, I don't think any of her siblings are going to make the trip to see her before she passes. She was so ornery at the hospital she told them no one helps her- despite DIL being there and seeing that she got there. Okay, enough- sending that up- can't do anymore from my end.
www- wish wed were over.

Oh and Chris- I ordered my full spectrum light last night. MMG doesn't understand it, but acknowledged that spending my day where there are no windows probably did affect my mood so- just order it.

Well I have a couple of business meetings this morning and then I will be homeward bound! Spoke to my husband early this morning and he is sick---wish I weren't going home to a sick hubby. You know how sick men act.

Sounds like a great dinner you are fixing your daughter. Hope she enjoys her birthday.

Laurie- I'll be praying for that woman who is close to death and the family members and friends.

Have a great day ladies.

Morning, girlies!! I'm up and at em early today! Today is house day...and my craft studio is calling a little louder than the laundry, so I think I'll work on a couple of things here first! I also have to make a run to Hobby Lobby to get some more embroidery thread and a model plane for my two little girlies to create today. They are studying WWI and all that goes with that. So, I'm thankful for all of you today!! just so you know!! :)

have a wonderful day everyone!!! love you all!!

Not sure where yesterday went but I was happy not to leave the house. As I was on my way to the grocery store, I ckecked the HBO movies and saw the last half ? of "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past". Nice chick flick fluff, tho my homemade popcorn was kinda stale. I may get myself some Thai food today.

Chris: HBDay to Cait! that does sound like a good dinner there Mom!

Laurie: Prayers to let her go quickly, and perhaps an open heart for all. Glad you are getting your light! MMG=? my main guy?

Terry: Totally agree re sick husbands! I told mine not to get sick in Huntsville cause we go to NYC Friday and I don't want a sniffy coughy person sharing MY room! esp, when it looks like a week of rain. bitch, bitch, bitch

Sally: That reiminds me to put a load of laundry in before I hit the stores this am. There is a fairly new Hobby Lobby near us now, but their ad is sooo hard to read, I've yet to go there. Do they take the other store coupons (as Michaels, AC Moore and JoAnn do here? Only AC Moore lets you use the coupon for magazines, so that's where I get my Somerset fixes.

Well, I want to be home by noon, so it would be good to get going! cya!

hi, there. it's me from the Bed and Breakfast. had the sort of breakfast i NEVER have.a REAL one, including eggs, bacon, coffee, some yummy tomatoes. i just can't be bothered to do that kind of thing for myself at home.

yesterday i did a wine tasting and some walking around the tiny town i'm in at the moment. there are some great houses here, not the least of which the one i'm in. Victorian Grandeur. going to the local Fort ( pre-revolutionary war) to learn some history. then try to find a restaurant where there are no shellfish around the place. this is proving to be harder than it sounds....

i hope everyone has a wonderful, happy day. looks like rain where i am.

Morning Ladies... Off to work and I am running late again, (what else is new) . I am home around 2:45 so hope to get back here to do personals. Had fun last night chatting and scrapping with the girls last night, hope we can do again soon! Well gotta go, I hate being rushed!! Too much to do in the morning before I can get here. I wanna stay home and scrap :hurt: See ya :bolt:

always chatty at the O!!
Come hell or high water I am posting and loving on you ll today. LOL!!

Days have just been crazy. When my family visits I try not to be on the computer too much even after they go to bed because it takes away from our time...BUT I am back now. Just dropped Addie at school. I keep losing my cool mommy points getting Addie to school later or picking her up late but between the half days and the weekly early release I just cannot keep everything straight. It is so hard. I truly hate her in the PM class. It just throws my whole day off. Morning would be so much easier...especially if I start working. We'll see if anything can be done to get her switched to morning.

So, I watched my funny shows last night. Did you hear that 28M people watched 2.5 Men when it was on? I had to watch it online since I don't have cable. They really slapped Charlie Sheen around pretty good in that episode. Ashton Kutcher will be fun to watch...although he is a bit goofy. We'll see how it goes. I also watched The Playboy Club. That may be a fun show. I love premier week.

Right now I'm just sitting here waiting for the bug guy. We have a bunch of bug issues. It is amazing the bugs you never knew about that show up here in the south. We have baby cockroaches, spiders and these weird little bugs called silverfish. Those are truly disgusting. Like earwigs only the squiggle around not in dark corners. Yuck!! Can't wait for them to go away. Thankfully it isn't horrible...when we moved into our first place and had those giant "water bugs" THAT was horrible. I wanted to do other things while Addie was at school today but I am happy to stay home and get rid of bgus.

Anyway, as promised...some love:

Chris - Happy Birthday to Cait!! I hope she has a fabulous birthday. Such a silly girl trying to hide her birthdays already at 13. I am so glad you cleared that up about the gravy/sauce. I was watching Lady Gaga on MTV a while ago and she was talking about red gravy and I had no idea what she was talking about and why they would make something like that every Sunday. Now it all makes sense. LOL!! Enjoy the rest of your day...I hope grocery shopping isn't too painful. Oh...yesterday I was gonna tell you about Andrea. I miss her on here too but she needed to follow her design style and has gone elsewhere. So, yes, her husband left yesterday. he's been home just over a year. It really sucks. They said this is the closest 2 deployments he's had...but this is his #4. Deployments just break my heart. He was not happy about it at all. She's going to start watching Addie on Thursdays for me so that I can volunteer at the hospital and I'm going to watch her younger 2 while she takes her oldest daughter to Girl Scouts...so I'll start seeing her much more. Plus we agreed to do lunch once a week. Vince was excited about that...that she'd have stuff to do and people keeping an eye on her. he is really sweet. I always enjoy them.

Laurie - I hope your morning didn't start too early. I don't do well too early...it will suck when I start working and have to be there at 7:30. Yuck!! I wish your family luck in handling your SIL. Sounds like she's just miserable and trying to make everyone else miserable around her. Sending prayers for everyone involved.

Terry - Sick husbands are the worst. Such babies...then mine gets bored when he's quarantined and gets everyone else sick. The worst with my husband is that anytime one of the kids gets a stomach bug I get to hear for the next two days about how is stomach feels funny and he can't tell if he's getting sick. Such a hypochondriac. And they think we are dramatic.

Sally - I just love the projects you have your kids do. It seems so much fun. Good luck on your list of things to do. I hope your house looks the way you want it to by the end of the day and your minions participate and get things done. :)

Maureen - Nothing like a good chick flick is there? I have a few go to's but I love new ones. I was all excited to see Something Borrowed but I was disappointed with that one. I need a new chick flick to watch now. I guess I may just go back to my throw back...Someone Like You. My fave!!

Phyllis - Sounds like an amazing time. I could use a nice relaxing vacation. I'm actually trying to find a place to go now...for March, April or May. Just not sure where to go yet. I'm thinking about the Keys or Catalina Island or someplace warm and relaxing.

Trudy - Scrapping was fun. I need to find your page. I'm always late too. I don't mean to be...I have good intentions it just doesn't seem to work out for me. I hope you get a chance to hop back in...just like I hope I get a chance to scrap.

K - Yay!! So glad to see you in here. I hope things are going okay. On FB it sounds like you have a lot going on. SEnding hugs!!

I am back for a couple of minutes while I wait for my birthday girl to get home from school. I am evil hahah! :mad2:

Chicken is pounded, stuffed and chillin' in the fridge, Gary made these outrageous choc chip cookies, gifts are wrapped and we are ready to go.
whew!

Laurie- i am so sorry about your SIL. Your family has gotten slammed this year, it must be so hard to keep dealing with illness over and over. Hope that she passes peacefully and w/o pain.
Awesome news about getting the lamp. i know it helps me a lot. Hope it works for you too.

Terry- ha. The reason that men don't carry babies is that the population would die out completely. Could you imagine? One ache or pain and they'd swear they'd never do it again. or we women would get so sick of the "my feet hurt, I have to pee, waaaah" we'd kill them. :smash:
Hope that hubby is ok and doesn't give you too much of a hassle. ;)

Sally, doesn't your craft room always call more loudly than your laundry?

Phyllis where in PA are you? hope you are having fun> Are the leaves starting to turn yet?

Hey Trudy! Hope that work is calmer this week than last.

Hi kayleigh- how are you feeling?

Oh. My. Goodness, Clara! silverfish freak me out so much *shudders* ick!!! Hope that bug guy gets them all!
Thanks for the update on Andrea- next time you see her giver her a hug from me. Walter is getting so big! I am so happy that you two are going to be seeing each other, I cannot imagine having my DH go on 4 deployments, I hope this is the last one and he can come home and stay! And good for you getting to volunteer! I know you have been wanting to do that for while.

Gotta run again

Chris, i'm in Bedford. cute little place. no leaves yet. they actually have a Fall Leaves Festival here in a week or so and the place gets crazy. i like it when it's only me and the locals. bought a sweater and another bottle of wine today. think i'm ready to face suburbia again tomorrow. home again. last year i got a photo here of the scariest house ever and made a page/Halloween card with it. (i'll post the page when i get back, in honor of October.) gonna see what i can do again this year with some of my Bedford house pix. spooky works so well with Victorian houses.

Phylis, as many times as I've gone by Bedford, I've never been in the town. It's always a potty stop as we head west to Chicago or Cleveland or even once to Utah. I'll have to nudge the man for a short trip one day.

Chris, I would love ..l..o...v...e.. a choc chip cooking but I am trying to be good re the sugar intake. I did get myself some red 'Australian' type licorice in Target today along with some Ambien for NYC. If he's sick and snoring, it saves me killing him. Oh I also bought 'The Help" for the train ride up or back or both.

Clara, I just shudder at the thought of your bugs, ok, not YOUR bugs but them Southin' bugs. I recall silverfish from when I was growing up and thank you have not seen them since. I wonder if it was pre a/c in the DC area? Knock on wood, I haven't seen a live stink bug for a while either. But ants? they come and they go, and they are so frickin' tiny that I can barely see them til I feel one crawl on my skin. C'mon frost! I do hope we get at least on good frost this winter. Some years, we never do and the bugs just happily breed.

Now back to putting clothes away. Tommorw I'll check the weather forecast and try to get a clue for the trip. Sophisticated, casual comfortable. hmmmm

Hi everyone... horray, work is done for the day and I can do some personals and perhaps get started on one of the challenges that I have been wanting to do for some time now!

Chris -Happy Birthday to your little girl, now you will have to ask her for us why it is that she doesn't want anyone to know its her birthday, its the best day ever when you get your favorite supper, gifts and even choc. chip cookies!!!! Lucky girl!!

Laurie - what a shame about your SIL, I hope that she goes quickly and with little pain!! Hope she has not left any permanent scars for those who have tried to help her out! You will have to let us know how your new light works, it might be something that I will have to try.

Terry - hope your husband doesn't get too whiny for you, there's nothing worse than a man when they are sick!!

Hey Kayleigh- Nice to see you here and good to see you scrapping again!!

Sally - my craft room always calls louder than anything else that I have to do!!

Phyllis - can't wait to see your scary layout from last year and the ones you will do this year, I love Halloween!!

Clara - It was fun scrapping last night, although I don't think I've ever had that much trouble getting going on a layout?? Just too much chatting to do I guess!! Yuck on the bugs!!! I HATE BUGS!!!!! You should see the size of some of the spiders :spider: that come up the bathtub drains sometimes. :eek2: :fear: I make my hubby take care of them critters!! yuck they give me the heebee geebees!!

Maureen - how'd your morning of shopping go??

Well off to do some scrapping and then get supper ready, sweet and sour ribs tonight, yummmm!!
