It is 100% denouement however for her hitting this milestone. She is mature beyond her years and has been "18" for a long time. Same as last year when she turned 17, she had felt 17 for at least a couple of years. Last night we were joking at dinner, and I said something about next year when she is 25....
:D

Nothing big planned for today since she already got her b-day present (and grad and for the next few and several past birthdays!) but I have one of her favorite dinners planned and we we open her Time Capsule too. I feel horrible, Scott's had so much stuff in his, while hers is quite sparse. Second Child Syndrome, plus Postpartum Depression, made it hard for me collect things like I did for Scott. But there still some things in there and iy is what it is. She knows that it won't be the same and knows the reasons why and is cool with it.

Yesterday was another Bust of a Day. Our appt with the LLMD was at 11.45, so we left here at 10.45. We ended up waiting for an hour and a half. We know she runs late, b/c she always spends so much time with her patients and one rough patient who needs more time will get it. We have been the ones causing that issue for other people, and we understand. OTOH-- I am sooooo done with waiting! But I brought a book- the new Joe Hill, so that worked out ok. I felt bad for Gary who doesn't read and can only spend so much time on his cellphone looking at FB.

She spent well over an hour with both of us too. She is concerned with me, since my hands are getting weaker every visit, but was happy to hear that I had a run of some decent days until this last bout of chaos hit. Gary- he has been off abx since last Dec and his slide down was very apparent. She took 16 vials of blood and his vein almost gave out at the end.

We called the garage on our way out since it was 2.30 at this point, car was being worked on but not done b/c the first starter that was sent, didn't fit so they had to get a second one. That was a bummer since the garage is on the way home, and is 15 minutes away from the house. We get home at 3.30- and the kids are having a discussion, some Brendan/house/family stuff that has been brewing for a while. We start a discussion, and wouldn't you know- 5 mins later, the garage calls, the car is ready. We get in the car, go down to get it and get back home at 4.30. throw leftover in the microwave and continue the family discussion.

The WORST part of this-- I am on Tindamax AKA abx from Hell and can't have alcohol. No glass of wine after dinner for me.
:hurt:

But today is another day- I am off to food shop, and then Dirt Therapy!

Have a fab day my lOves!!!!

Kat- I am trying not to laugh but I can't help it-- cold wet noodle? BTDT- except I have been a clump of spaghetti that sticks to itself after you drain it and don't put sauce or oil on immediately :pound:
**squirrel!** Squirrels on an acid trip at a rave....
OMG-- that is insanity about taking that long to get home! I am guessing there are no shortcuts or you would have been taking them. I hope that yesterday went ok, and that your commute went smoothly. hang in there!

nancy- so scary that the bomber was so close to you. Glad he was caught before he did any more harm.
You must have a fun lunch with your friend. I loved when Caitlyn came home with funny stories from the preschool last year. You must also still be in hockey heaven!

Rae- you are a good doggie mama walking them in heavy rain like that. Good for you getting time mgt under control. I absolutely need to do that too but so much of my time/day seems to be out of my control that is difficult. If anyone has suggestions on how to better do this, I am all ears!
Gary and I watched The Good Place last night and we though the same, too silly for us. There were a few moments with Ted Danson that made me chuckle, but that was about it.

Thank you soooo much for the support-- from all of you! It really means a lot, and you all make me strive to keep on going, sense of humor intact. Even it is it cold, hard pancake flat at times. hahah!!!!

Is it something in the air? Sorry that your day got all mucked up too, Trudy. I feel like things that shouldn't be a hassle are such a hassle lately. i still have to finsih the Lo for my Oct Challenge, and I have had no time/creativity. I hope that you find yours and get to smile when you scrap the pics of Mason.

xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies... up early to get ready for my day with MIL. She is very excited to have her day at Butchart Gardens and have High Tea with her Daughter Sharon and myself. I haven't been to the Gardens for many years, so it is a treat for me as well. Here is what the Gardens are like a spectacular place to be especially in the summer, but the fall colours should be amazing also, especially in the Japanese Gardens! http://www.butchartgardens.com

Chris - Happy Birthday to your sweet little girl!! Hard to believe that she is 18 yrs old already! I hope she has a wonderful day!! So nice that she is so understanding of all of the things that go on in your life! She is a special woman!! You must be so very proud of her!! That is too bad that you had to wait so long for your appt. yesterday, hopefully this round of Tindamax is not too bad for you, it really sucks that you can't have a glass of wine :becky: Hopefully you have some spark of creativity come to you over the next day or so, doing the page with Mason's pictures really did make me smile! https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=357384&title=the-kitchen-sink&cat=500

To all of you that pop in here today, I hope that you have an awesome day! I am off to the shower and then I am outta here!! :bolt:

good morning - running late - getting boys off is sometimes a real challenge. Chaz and I have done our CIZE work our twice this week so that is good. But even with him being up so early he cannot manage to get our early. Luther has been having wonderful play time with the dogs he meets on his walk. He know exactly which way to go to get to their house and as my DH found out it is not easy to get him to leave. If he gets tired he will just lay down there. But the come training is working. He does not like it but he does come and I give him plenty of hugs and praise. Chris this story is for you - went with my friend to her doctor's appt about her possible varicose veins. I knew to take a book as she had to have a sonogram on her legs and then we waited for 2 hrs. The doctor opens the door to the exam room and says OMgosh there are patients in here. They forgot about us. The chart was not in the door slot so they thought no one was in there. He apologized. But still that was forever. Luckily I have the ESPN watch app on my phone so we could watch hockey LOL. She is my hockey buddy and loves it as much as I do except she love the Rangers and I love the Devils. Finally made it home to get Luther out for a walk. The sat down to watch the USA/Canada. My team is an embarrassment. I don't care if they lose it how they lose that makes me so sad. They were horrible. I hope none of the team that was on this one is ever selected to be on a National team again. Luckily we have a group of young talent that should come through in a few years. They still have to play one more again against the Czechs who also are not moving on so it is a meaningless game but I hope they have some pride and try and play well. More hockey today with teams that are actually good.

Chris congrats to Cait on turning 18. Such a milestone. I think it is so cool you have a box for her open. Have a great day in the dirt.

Trudy that garden is amazing. How fun to have high tea! Take tons of photos. It seems you all are really cooling off while we are still warm here. And I am not complaining at all. And Mason is too cute!

Rae you are super good at time management! Totally impressed. I have to admit though that I love no time constraints. Have fun with your doggies.

Kat whew I hope things have settled down. In my area traffic is crazy because school is back in session and so many teachers and students and busses. Way too much traffic.

Have a great day all.

Good morning, ladies. I'll be calling the vet this afternoon for Taz. He hasn't eaten since lunch yesterday, so I'm pretty sure his glands are blocked again and he's not feeling well. It's always hard to tell with him b/c he still will go for walks, run and play, and seem perfectly normal but when he stops eating it's usually a sign. I'll know soon enough. I should be able to get him in this afternoon.

My usual day of dog walking, work, laundry and am making a new recipe for a pork loin for dinner. I will let you know if it's good or not.

Chris - happy b-day to your daughter. Hope you fit in some dirt therapy today, you deserve it.

Trudy - I have never been to Butchart Gardens but should come over one wkend, maybe next spring. I would think that is the best time to go.

Nancy - glad to hear the training is going well. I'm not surprised. Luther sounds like a good smart dog.

I need to go blowdry my hair and gets the dogs out for a walk before starting work. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Morning ladies.

Trudy, have fun at the gardens - they look stunning! I can only image what they must look like in the spring ... of course, I'd be sneezing my way around! LOL I did high tea a few years ago with my Mum at a Hyatt Hotel (in Canberra, her home town) ... five star service. Was wonderful - still think it's funny, though, all the teeny tiny sandwiches. But oh, the pastries ... yum.

Nancy, I think you and your friend showed WAAAY more patience than I would have to wait in an exam room for that long!! Oh, and you and I are going to have some 'talks' about who you support for hockey. Pfft. Devils. Go Redwings!!! :behindsofa:

Rae, sounds like you're busy, too! I know Beckham goes in about a week - maybe it will be quieter for you then? How are you finding the whole working from home transition now? I enjoy it on the occasional day, but I'm not sure if could do it all the time ... laundry would be calling, then vacuuming, cooking ... squirrel!! LOL

To the daughter of a clump of stuck-together spaghetti, HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAIT! -- Signed, the Wet Noodle.

ROFL - Chris, I swear, if I make it to your neck of the woods, we'd better make time to meet! I think we'd probably both be exhausted from laughing all day! :)
