The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
*looks at the clock and tries to reconcile that is it 8 am and yet pitch dark* It is raining pretty steady. I have to make sure that Caitlyn is out of bed by 8.30. It is not going to be a fun morning for her. She has an orientation seminar this morning and wants to make sure she has some makeup on, her room is tidied, and is caffeinated.

After I got back from the grocery store, I didn't feel like cleaning. So I scrapped instead and I was so happy with the result. I even got a Standing O (thank you, Jeanette!) which was a nice thing to wake up to today.
At dinner, we all got into a cranky discussion about the virus and when we might feel safe enough to have people outside of the bubble in. Each of us feels pulled in different directions and no one can give any sort of definitive answer to the multiple questions and opinions.
Scott is working on his resume and is very discouraged. My brother recently had his professionally updated and he sent Scott a copy so he can use that as a guide. Scott was hoping that the ecology center job was going to give him more experience and opportunities that would boost his resume and he feels like he has nothing of substance to out on it.
I know Cait's anxiety is running high with school starting and we ended up snapping at each other.
No one was in a great mood. Maybe today will be better.

It is raining and that is actually good. That forces me to clean in here. I will have to clean around Gary's projects though. The current one is a "gravedigger." Not a skeleton digging a grave but one digging out of the ground. He took the base of an old treadmill and built a wooden frame over it. There is a motor underneath that moves a burlap cover. It will be covered by leaves once it is on the lawn. Then I guess he is going to be having bones coming up from the ground somehow too.
It is all coming together and in plenty of time for the parts to break, motors to burn out. He is right on track. :pound:

I was about to say that I am not in a mood for gratitudes, but I think that is when I need them the most.
-rain to water my plants
-food in my fridge and freezer, roof over my head
-even when we are all cranky with each other and the situation, we do still love each other

and my dear O-Fam-- I am grateful for this site and all of you!

Kay- hugs to you and to all of your family. Now I feel terrible that we are all grumbling about when we can have people here. Any updated news about your sister??? I am so sorry to hear this and I am sending good thoughts to her. Is there anything else I/we can do?
Please keep us posted. (((((((((((hugs))))))))))

Nancy- I don't know how the TdF cyclists do it. I would be terrified. Good to see that you are enjoying hockey and scrapping. How is Luther doing?

Trudy- sorry to hear the Bruins lost.
Did Heather ever find her BC? In the US you can use your passport for ID within a certain time period after it expires, is that possible in Canada too?

Better check on Caitlyn.
HAGD!!

good morning - it rained here but not raining now. Watching TdF and it is gorgeous sunny day in France. They are going past olive groves. Really cool too as they have little video bits and today they showed the olive growing process. Well last night no hockey teams were eliminated so that means more games for me. My son and his MG came and bought us dinner as a thank you for taking care of their pets. It was a nice night. And we have left overs so that means I don't have to cook. It was the first day I did not do a walk but I did go to the grocery store and walked their. It was annoying in that I got what I wanted fairly quickly but there were only 3 check out lanes and so they were back up four deep. So I did what I don't like doing and did self check out. It actually went pretty well and I was out fast enough I had time to get my Starbucks frappe. My reward LOL. But I feel good as I was able to get lot of what I wanted and needed. I do have to admit it was interesting to hear exactly how much each product cost as it went through the scan. Plain Cheerios were not expensive. I guess no extra sugar lowers the price.

Chris I feel you and the extra tension that is in the air. A new month and some changes but not enough. My son and I had a heated discussion on Covid and privilege. I really hate having heated exchanges. I really have to get my notes straight so we can have a real debate. How fun that Gary is working on a new project for Halloween. Sounds pretty cool even if you have to work around it. Congrats on the Standing O they are so fun when they happen. I think that is cute that Cait is putting on makeup and having her room straightened for her orientation. Hope she finds it interesting. It must feel such a struggle for Scott but I am sure he will find something. Thanks for asking about Luther. He is doing fine. He goes out early and has a nice long walk and then vegges the day way.

Kay sending more good thoughts on your family. Sure hope your sister recovers fast. Hope Endo appt went well.

Trudy hope you get to go on your hike today. I saw on news about a bear in BC that came out on a hike and give the hiker a pat on the leg and went back into the bushes. I feel like it was in your area of BC. Any way take care on your hikes.

Waving to all.

Have a great day.

Been busy since I woke up at 4 AM this morning. I had gotten a bit chilled with the ceiling fan running - guess that is what woke me up. We had a cold front come through late yesterday with a heavy rain and bit of sleet for about 30 minutes. Temp at 5AM was 56*!!! Haven't been that cool since last spring. I did open the house up at 6 AM... while it was still dark. Yep the days are getting shorter. Worked on a LO and got it posted. Closed the house up at 10:30 even though it was still cool outside - 72 - as I had to leave to get my annual Flu shot at Smith's Pharmacy. Picked up some fruit, milk and other things I needed while I was there. Back home to unload those - then over to the Post Office to mail bills and pickup some more stamps. The line there [which is usually really long] was fairly short and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Dropped my library books off and picked up one I had on reserve that came in. The Temp is up into the low-80's now and expected to be back into the 90's the rest of week/weekend.

Yesterday, the Endro doc was pleased with my labs and was willing to transfer me back to my primary care doc as I have been 'stable' for over 2 years now. Yeah... 1 less doctor to have to see!!!

Got word from my nephew last evening that my sister is still about the same... very tired, difficulty breathing, etc. He is checking on her every day and keeping me up to date on how she is doing. Talked to my cousin in Florida this morning... her next door neighbor has Covid and his wife had been over to my cousin's house so my cousin got tested and should know the results later on today/tomorrow. Praying that my cousin gets a negative on the test. Also had talked to another cousin in Austin yesterday who told me her brother had another bad TIA at church on Sunday. We were raised like brother/sister during our early days... Just seems like this month is starting off bad.

Think I am going to take a nap... CYL

Yikes I forgot to post this before I headed out the door this morning so here it is a bit late I would say!! LOL

Morning Ozies!! I am popping in to say hey and then off to my hike, it is a sunny morning and not too warm, so perfect for hiking today! Off to the Kinsol Trestle today, to do a new hike down at the bottom of the trestle, we are told to bring our hiking poles, so there must be some difficult spots along the way. Sorry to say that MIL was taken to the hospital yesterday in the ambulance. She has suffered a series of strokes and will be in hospital for a few days. Really not to sure just how bad the the strokes were, guess they will have to access her today. We are not allowed to visit because of COVID but I thing that they are allowing FIL to get in to see her. We told FIL to come here for supper and bring an overnight bag, but I have my doubts that he will stay. Send lots of positive thoughts our way please for MIL to have a quick recovery

Chris - I am sorry that everyone has been cranky! This is so stressful for everyone to be in the midst of a pandemic and to not have our regular life back. (even though we all complained about that too LOL). So funny that your Gary is gearing up for Halloween already, good for him to keep busy with a project though! Congrats on the standing O!! I will have to check it out later on today!

Nancy - That bear sighting was over on the mainland near where Rae lives so I won't be running into that particular bear today LOL. There have been many sightings near us also, but our group is so noisy and chatty I think we scare any kind of wildlife away! But thanks for thinking of me.

Kay - Ugh 4am that is way too early!! Glad that your Endo Dr. was so happy with your results!! You go girl!! Sending you hugs and positive thoughts that your sister will soon be doing better! What a worry for you! And now to have the worry for your cousins too!
