Good morning and happy Wednesday!
Looks to be another sunny day here, but humidity is back. yay for frizzy hair :scared:

:pound:

All of the lilac hair color has washed out and omg, I am soooooo grey! I had been looking at old- 1980s old- and my hair was so blond. It was also pretty darn huge. Ahhhh the 80's. *wink*
I digress. I really need a cut and highlights. if I could pick up another cleaning gig, I could pay for it, but as of right now, esp after the tattoos, I am down to a handful of loose change. $.88 to be exact. ha!!!! My mom has put away some money for me to get some new clothes, but if I asked for it to get my hair done, she would do that instead. So right now I am thinking, what do I need more- some new clothes or a hair cut?

More critical right now is figuring out what to make for Gary's parents for their b-days. I hate that he leaves that up to me. Is that a guy thing? Any of your DH's do that too?

I spent 2 hours in the attic yesterday and while I did get a lot of stuff rearranged, it looks like I didn't even put a dent in it. Gary has so much s*** all over. I could not tell you how many old computers/monitors/printers he has up there. None of them work! But god forbid I suggest that he take them to the recycling center. At this rate, just put them in black garbage bags and throw them out! (ouch- it hurts me to even type that.)

The entire side of the attic is just Halloween and Christmas decorations and I didn't even get near that. That is for another day.

Today is two of my favorite things. Food shopping and bill paying. This month is going to be really rough, the first one without Caitlyn's Social Security, now that she is 18 this month. I might have to curl up in a ball and cry a little bit after that.

::grouphug to everyone!

Hi Trudy! Did you get to the pool yesterday? Must feel a bit weird going to swim in the afternoon, and I hope it wasn't too crowded. At least it isn't Jan 2nd.
I don't get it with guys spilling coffee. Scott does it too, but if they wouldn't fill it all the way to the top and let it slosh all over...
Poor Mason having the sty.I was going to recommend chamomile tea but looks like you are already on that. Maybe green tea would work better? Cham. is good for inflammation, green is good with antioxidants. Either way, it has to hard keeping him still for long.

Rae- that is really cold! My house was 68* yesterday am, but the sun felt nice. I saw the pic of Bailey on the bridge- great photo! She looked so cute too. It is awesome that you two do that. How is she doing with the computer/Photoshop?
My knowledge about plants it very much trial and error. Heavy on the error. heh!!!

Cindy- welcome back!!!! Having Gary home literally all day every day, i would love to have some time to miss him bwuahahah! But it sounds like you two are so close and happy together, that is wonderful. How long have you been married?
Good luck to him with the new job/commuting and to you for getting used to not seeing him.

Yoo hooooo, Nancy!! Has anyone seen Nancy since the weekend? Hope everything is OK!

good morning! OMgosh life is so crazy. I have been bitten by the cleaning bug and spent so much of Monday and Tuesday trying to make my downstairs acceptable to visitors. I really don't do much and I guess then to see it so quickly destroyed by my boys has always been discouraging to me. But it does look good and I listened to a lot of Blake Shelton. Monday was my girlfriend's birthday so I had fun as her daughter and I took her out for dinner. Of course I watched football. Last night I attended the NJ Devils fan club meeting on fan club trips. It was fun but it was long. It was a lot of discussion but it was good to be a part of to understand why certain things are done or not done. The members of the committee are long time members but I knew most of them from trips Joe and I had been on. The fan club President Trudy is just amazing. She has spread sheets on all team trips so she could tell us when the last trip was, if any were canceled. It takes a lot of work to decide. Today I have bath for Luther at 11am and vet follow up appt at 3pm so he will be busy. More hockey tonight. I have been scrapping and on last days of my trip. Sad to see it come to the end.

Chris thanks for the hello. Sounds like you have been busy too. I think the cooler weather is making me want to clean. My attic is pretty organized it is the rest of the house that needs organizing. We have computers and monitors and I have to just trash them as there is so much of my stuff on them. With the way things are hacked these days I don't want to give them easy access. Good luck with bills and grocery shopping.

Trudy how was swimming. It must have been so nice to be back in the pool all nice and fresh! The photos from the hike looked awesome! Swimming and hiking you go girl!

Rae it is turning cooler here as now the hot days are the outliers and the cool days are the norm. Luther is just loving it and wants to walk forever.

Cindy welcome back - congrats on finding the job. Long commute but my DH has one just about as long. He goes train to path to subway and is always at the mercy of their schedules. But he is so used to it.

Have a great day all

Morning ladies... off to my hike this morning. Thetis Lake is about a 45 min drive to get to the Trailhead. It looks like it should be a beautiful day for it and I will try to get some pics as there are some nice spots for viewing the lake on this hike. Yesterday was a bust for me going to the pool. By the time I finished talking with Heather and Mason I needed to get dressed and meet up with the lady that sells the Norwex products to me. Well we really got gabbing and she convinced me that I should be selling the stuff myself and saving myself a lot of money as well as making a bit of $ on the side. So now I am officially a Norwex consultant. if any of you are interested I will have my website up and running soon and I will post the link to my Facebook page. Oh brother what have I gotten myself into LOL! Anyway I never ended up getting to the pool, so I will try again tomorrow.

Chris - Is there no place where you can take those old monitors etc.to be recycled? We have a great place here to take our old electronics and all you have to do is remove the hard drive out of your computer and smash the heck out of it and they will take care of the rest. I hate to think of all that stuff going to the landfill!! We are big on green here in B.C. and we even have stores that have no plastic containers or any kind of packaging that needs to be thrown away. No plastic grocery bags are allowed anymore in the stores, everyone is encouraged to bring their own reusable bags.

Nancy - Wish I would catch some of your cleaning bug!! I haven't given my inside of my house a good going through for a while now. I really need to start putting away my summer clothes and get out the fall sweaters and such. But I really don't want too!! I am in denial that summer is pretty much over with! Glad that you had a good time at the Devil's fan club meeting! Soon you will have more hockey pages to scrap, but sad that you will be all done with your vacation ones! Until the next trip anyway!!

Cindy - Nice to see you here again! You must be missing your sweetie a lot after being so close for so many years! It is a special relationship when you can work together like that and be with each other 24/7! I think I would kill my DH if I had to work with him, we both like to be the boss!! :becky:

Rae - Hope your visit with Bailey was fun! How nice of you to give her your old camera to use! It was such a glorious day yesterday I bet you got some great shots! Hope that she is enjoying her new job!

Ok I better get my lunch packed for my hike! Anxious to try out my new backpack and this will probably be the last time I can wear shorts on my hikes for awhile. Sounds like the rain is supposed come back in the next few days. Hope you all have an amazing day!

Good morning, ladies. Another great sunny day here. Nothing new going on today, just the same old thing - work, dog walking, laundry, cooking, cleaning. But....it is premiere night of American Horror Story. I cannot wait! They have been very tight-lipped about the theme of this season so it's even more exciting to find out what it will be. Had a wonderful walk with Bailey last night and then went out for dinner. I've loaded her pics into my computer so now just have to go load them into a FB folder for her.

Chris - Darrell leaves all the gift planning/buying to me. He was so hopeless at figuring out what to get that I just took it over years ago.His idea of a gift is to just give money or GC. As for the coffee thing...yes, Darrell is a coffee slosher too. There is always coffee sloshed onto the floor in front of the hall closet and in the foyer. I give up trying to remind him to be careful and just go behind him with a cloth to wipe up.

Nancy - I've been bit by the cleaning bug too and good thing, b/c my home has really suffered over the summer. Since we're away most wkends, I don't devote much time to housework, only the bare essentials. I've been cleaning closets and decluttering and will soon be steam cleaning and scrubbing floors.

Trudy - have a wonderful hike today. Looks like a gorgeous day out and not too hot either (which I like).

Off I go to load Bailey's photos into FB for her and then get some CT stuff done. Have a great day, everyone.

Afternoon ladies... and hi Cindy - welcome back (I just returned, myself, after a few months' hiatus!). Question: Do you ever reach a point when you MUST - I stress MUST - do something creative?! That's where I am. This is not a, oh, I'd like to tinker with a new kit ... or, hey, that challenge looks cool, I'll give that a go. Nope. This is a NEED!! LOL Things are REALLY stressful at work and I think yesterday was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back:

  • Paving the parking lot in the townhouse community Monday into Tuesday, so coming home late Monday, I have to park a bajillion miles away in a side street (okay, NOT a bajillion, but a good 15 minute walk).
  • Tuesday a.m., no workout - was not going to cart my purse, laptop, workout bag, and "feed bag" (LOL) to the car ... in the dark ... at 5 a.m.
  • Working by 7 am at my desk ... leave work at 7:15 pm.
  • Hit almost every single red light on the way home.
  • Finally on the home stretch and BAM! traffic jam ... for miles. Accident and we're down to one lane.
  • Home 8:25 pm ... and the boys have pizza. Bye-bye good eating ... heeeellllooo pizza!!

It's the busiest time of the year for government contracting right now: end of the fiscal year and all kinds of activity on contracts ending, new ones starting, proposals, etc.

I NEED to do something creative ... doesn't matter how tired I am, I just have to. LOL
