:gloomy: <~ weather and mood

My day was upended again, this time because of Badger. When Caitlyn brought Otter to the vet 2 weeks ago, she had him check the lump on Badger's groin. He thought it was a cyst and gave her a shot of abx. Unfortunately, it was still growing and Caitlyn mentioned in the morning that she was keeping an eye on it. A few hours later, it started bleeding. A lot. She was able to get an appt at the vet towards the end of the day (she was working remotely) and most likely sarcoma. Inoperable. :( So again, nothing to do but make sure Badger is comfortable and not in pain.
Caitlyn had been thinking that this group of rats would be her last until she knows where she is living in the upcoming year. I hope so for *my* sake, I can't do this again. I don't know how she is holding it together. Those girls are her babies :(

Since I wasn't going to be home for dinner time, I made the pasta sauce (butternut squash) early and Gary just had to reheat it with the pasta. I was going to make cheddar bay biscuits but made rosemary bread in the machine instead. Scott and Sam went out to lunch so they weren't even hungry. pfft.

I have to pick up groceries in a little while and then will be checking on Badger throughout the day.
The good news is that the hurricane looks like it is going to pass by NJ over the weekend. We might have to deal with some rip currents but we don't go in the water more than getting our feet wet.

BTW-- because in a complain-y kind of mood... The yellowjacket stung me twice. Now that the swelling is going down on my finger, I can feel two separate bumps. And for some reason, water reactivates the burning sensation which is a lot of fun since it hurts every time I wash my hands.
:flyswatter:

On that note, I am going to sign off.

@vickyday I didn't even take any pictures of the table since it looks exactly the same as it did before, just a clearer/cleaner finish.
Did you get to do any scrapping? The photos of the retreat must have been really pretty and enjoyable to scrap. You are over the hump on the blanket, it will go faster now. You got this!

@BrightEyes The weather has been off the rails lately. Stay warm for now, in another 5 minutes it will be 100* again ;)
I still haven't learned all of the features on my phone and I got it a year and a half ago. Scott got the same one over the summer and I was hoping he would teach me. Good luck getting it al figured out and the TV too.

@taxed4ever Mmmmm! Broc cheddar soup!!! One "nice" thing about Scott moving out is that I can make lots of soups for dinner and he won't be here to complain. :giggle4:
You are such a good grandma! I love how the kids will chat away with you.
Good luck to Heather and moving! *fingers crossed*
Would you believe that *I* am the one who wants to bomb the nest? Gary says that they are pollinators too and doesn't want to kill them all. Sure, they are that, but I have plenty of non-aggressive bumblebees and honey bees that will do the job without being jerks ha!
No luck at all for Cait and househunting. They are pretty much priced out of the market ATM.

@BrightEyes I guess I shouldn't complain that I am feeling old with Scott being 27 and Cait turning 25 next week. But as I said, I am in a complain-y mood... :crying1::no: :neener:

Oh, man! So sorry about Badger! I hope Caitlyn spares you the anxiety of losing more pets before she moves!
And, about that, any prospective houses being looked at?
That is weird that water reactivates the sting from the yellow jacket!
Here's some dancing elephants to cheer you up

I read your personal to Trudy, so never mind my question about Cait and house hunting. ;)
I would have taken pictures of the table.....I want proof of my hard work! ;)
I didn't scrap the photos of the retreat yet, but I did do some scrapping of a couple of challenges. I need to do some commenting in the gallery today.
I always get anxious at this stage of my knitting.....it doesn't seem to go fast enough to be completed! I get bored with a project pretty quickly! I can't tell you how many "easy" projects I have started only to get bored with them before I can get them finished!

Good Morning!
Nothing on the docket for me today. Not outside of the bed making, dishwasher emptying, floor sweeping, weekend cleanup that I've already done this morning. I will probably do some more scrapping and knitting but that's about it.
I can't believe September is almost half over already! I may work on my challenge for next month. And I need to do some commenting in the gallery.
The sun is shining brightly. The temps were "supposed" to be cooler this week.....according to Mark.....that has definitely NOT happened yet!
I meant to mention that I saw a squirrel drinking from the bird bath this past weekend. Hanging off the side of the deck and holding onto the bird bath and drinking that dirty water with bird :poop: and all! I tried to get a picture, but, of course, by the time I got the camera in position he ran!
OK, that's it for me!
Have a great day!

@LSlycord BTW, my daughter discovered another author. So far what we have listened to have been Christian fiction from the Hitler era. Her name is Melanie Dobson.

Good Morning ladies! It is rather foggy out there today, but it looks like we could have a fairly sunny day when that lifts. I am off on my hike today, not far from here, so I might even be home before DH leaves from his lunch break. He likes to come home for lunch, just to get out of the office and have a change of scenery. Hopefully the fog lifts or we won't be able to see much of anything LOL. I did manage to get a layout finished for a pre-release yesterday afternoon and other than making some egg bites for my Gary, I just worked away on the Junk Journal that I have been wanting to do. So nice to sit in my craft room and just listen to music and be creative! Ok I better get the bed made and get my back pack ready to go. I will try to get back here in the afternoon to catch up with personals, but no promises. Seems I always get side tracked LOL. Have a great day everyone! :waving1

Morning, all. Wow... sure feels like fall. We had rain last evening and early this morning. The temp is in the low 60's so will be smart and put on long pants and LS shirt. I am really enjoying the cool weather so much. Need to make another trip over to TM this morning... I can make calls out but can't answer calls coming in!!! :banghead:  I looked at the manual - and it said 'tap' on ANSWER - which I tried with stylus and also with finger and that didn't work!!! And to make it even more frustrating... the place to do that disappeared after 30 seconds!!! Geeze!! :jawdrop3::spinningchair:

On the good side, I did get Netflix and AppleTV installed on the computer yesterday. Ended up watching on AppleTV: "9/11 inside the President's War Room".... Brought back so many memories. Then I watched the 1st episode of "Manifest" on Netflix. Once we get Netflix set up on Smart TV, I am sure I will binge-watch that one. Of course that will be after DS#1 and wife leave at the end of the month. :smiliesdoingwave:

Be back later for personals..

Good afternoon. I didn't get in here yesterday, I was just mopy yesterday and not feeling very conversational, I guess. Maryley is bleeding and Alyssa took her to the vet. Don't know what's going on. They're still waiting for tests to come back. Still scrapping - my escape from problems. Marley was really tired - has been since we were all there Sunday night. It's an emotional roller coaster.

Chris @faerywings I'm so sorry about the girls - it's so hard to lose our pets, no matter how big or tiny they are. All we can do is keep them comfortable. Sending little rat hugs to them and big human hugs to you and Cait. I started to say big rat hugs, but changed it to human. Trying to make you laugh. I also didn't respond to your post that you're not normal either. How did I already know that??? We're too much alike.

Love and hugs to all and I'll try to get back on track in here because I miss chatting with you girls first thing every day.

Good evening all.
@faerywings I’m so sorry to hear about Badger. Give hugs to Cait! I’ve been watching Hurricane Lee. Might not be the best weather but not terrible.

@Cherylndesigns so sorry to hear about Marley. I know this must be so hard for all of you.

@BrightEyes sorry about not being able to answer the phone. Hope TM got that straightened out.

@vickyday I need to check out the new author that you have found. Because I sure loved the last one you shared with me!

@taxed4ever hope that you enjoyed your time outdoors. I’m sure that it was good to sit in your room and listen to music and create. Hope the hand/wrist is feeling better!
