<~ weather and mood
My day was upended again, this time because of Badger. When Caitlyn brought Otter to the vet 2 weeks ago, she had him check the lump on Badger's groin. He thought it was a cyst and gave her a shot of abx. Unfortunately, it was still growing and Caitlyn mentioned in the morning that she was keeping an eye on it. A few hours later, it started bleeding. A lot. She was able to get an appt at the vet towards the end of the day (she was working remotely) and most likely sarcoma. Inoperable. So again, nothing to do but make sure Badger is comfortable and not in pain.
Caitlyn had been thinking that this group of rats would be her last until she knows where she is living in the upcoming year. I hope so for *my* sake, I can't do this again. I don't know how she is holding it together. Those girls are her babies
Since I wasn't going to be home for dinner time, I made the pasta sauce (butternut squash) early and Gary just had to reheat it with the pasta. I was going to make cheddar bay biscuits but made rosemary bread in the machine instead. Scott and Sam went out to lunch so they weren't even hungry. pfft.
I have to pick up groceries in a little while and then will be checking on Badger throughout the day.
The good news is that the hurricane looks like it is going to pass by NJ over the weekend. We might have to deal with some rip currents but we don't go in the water more than getting our feet wet.
BTW-- because in a complain-y kind of mood... The yellowjacket stung me twice. Now that the swelling is going down on my finger, I can feel two separate bumps. And for some reason, water reactivates the burning sensation which is a lot of fun since it hurts every time I wash my hands.
On that note, I am going to sign off.
xo
