CHEERY O
Happy Wednesday. Another *fine* morning yesterday in the Faery Household. I pull out of my driveway to go to work, and her thwump-thwump-thwump. I picked up some huge bit of metal in my tire. In checking out the tires, my other front one was bald which means my alignment is off (damn potholes!!!!). The Tire-Dude said that my brand of tires are hard to find, so I might need to replace all 4 of them so they match!! I don't need matching tires any more than I need matching underwear!!!!!!!

OK, so in the Faery World of Car Maintenance I shouldn't need matching tires but apparently in the Real World, you do. GAH!!!

I take Gary's car to work, because Scott's car's battery was dead. Add in all of the freaking stress of the morning before this started, and my allergies are through the roof, I was miserable yesterday.

But on the good side, the kids came home from school un-crankified and we actually had a nice convo at dinner. Caitlyn needed to write a short story for HW and the only requirement was that it has to be written from the POV of the main character. So we helped her to brainstorm, with some serious suggestions (mine) and many more ridiculous ones (Gary and Scott). She didn't use any of our ideas (probably a good thing) but wow, my girl can *write*!!! I wish that they did more creative writing in Language Class because she blows me away every time.

Not much on the docket for me today-- food shopping, bill paying (Social Security Check day!!! "Any guesses on how long it lasts? Will there be any leftover? How will Faery pay for her tires?? If you guessed Visa, you;d be RIGHT!!!" Read all of that again in a deep male announcer type voice. Its kinda funny)

WWW:
I wish that I have more Social Security Check/ Deposit than bills, and I bet that you all wish the same for yourselves!!
I wish that good food was less expensive than the cheap crap. Or that I lived next to Jen and could trade work for food (only, not butchering the chickens. I can throw beets pretty good, however)
I want today to be a GREAT day and I an going to do my damndest to make it so!!!!

:love::love::love:

I'm so behind with everything here at home because of all the appointments I have with/about John & school. Yesterday DH was going to have a shower, and he was down to his last piece of underwear. Needless to say - today I'm focusing on MY HOME. (even though the psychobabble lady is coming in a couple of hrs to meet John)

1 laundry started. Dishwasher started. Now it's just the rest. Also ... I really need to get some scrapping done. Haven't done many layouts this month.

WWW:
I wish I could spend the entire day with the genealogy. Got some help at a forum from a lady to find the missing person. Bless her!!!
I wish chores was FUN!
I wish chocolate was a basic food group with all the necessary vitamins and minerals in it.

God morning. Another crazy busy week here. But we have had two good nights with homework...don't know who has invaded my son's body but he must stay! Syd is always good about doing homework because it is so easy for her. Shaun on the other hand hates it...but for two nights, he has just stepped right up and got it done. I've been telling him that if he didn't spend so much time fighting with me about it, it wouldn't take so long. He said that to me Monday night! We will see how long this lasts, but I am soooo grateful.

Nights are still crazy. I pick them up at 5:00 from daycare, we eat something really fast and then out the door to swim practice (Shaun) or soccer practice (Sydney). We return home at about 7:45 or 8, depending on which practice. Then, showers and homework for whichever child had practice (the child not practicing works on homework during the practice slot). Then, it's time for bed and we start again.

I really wish that Brian worked days instead of evenings. But I'm grateful that he has a job with a steady cash flow instead of the real estate of the last few years. So, I will just be thankful and continue to run every night!

Wow...what a whiner I am this morning. (And this is when I'm happy and have good news. ;-) )Oh well, that's my favorite part of the Daily O's...I can tell you how I really feel.

Okay...these cool mornings....NANA DOES NOT WANT TO GET OUT OF BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like the warm spot my old body has made in my bed!!! I actually turned the heat on last night before I went to bed...it's set at 69, but that's as low as the temp in the house went..so it never cut on....but the cool air is hell on my arthitic arms!!! MOVING SLOW this morning. Thank goodness these kids get up okay.....I can only imagine the kids next door...I see them riding their bikes and scooters up and down the street until dark...and this goes on from the time they get off the bus....so this means they are not eating dinner or doing homework until after that...who knows what time they go to bed...I see the light on in the bedrooms still at 10pm....THESE ARE ELEMENTARY KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jesse and Jaiden are in bed by 7:45!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....and like I said..they get up so well!!!

Soccer game last night.....I tried to take photos...but it was just too dim outside...I had to adjust for that and they are very grainy...NO GOOD..but I am getting the hang of the action shot....if it had been light enough, they really would have turned out pretty good...thank goodness, no more games that late...so I should be able to get better ones next week.

I think I have decided :decision: what I want to be when I grow up.....a sports photographer!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :photo: TOOK ME LONG ENOUGH

Morning ladies... Cool here this morning too Linda!!! My heat pump came on in the middle of the night and man its cool in this house this morning! Three more sleeps, that's 3 more sleeps, did you hear me??? Do you think I'm excited to get this week over and get going on my holidays??

Ok now I have a picture of Chris wiping beet chunks off her face :pound: while Nana is flinging them at Chris with a fork :becky:

Chris - Bad news about your car tires!! We just put down a bunch of $$$$ to get the brakes done on the Van before our trip Ouch!! But you gotta have tires and brakes right?? Love the comment that you don't need matching tires or underware!! LOL
Isn't it nice that Cait is such a good writer, perhaps a Novel is in the works sometime down the road? Who knows she could be the next J. K. Rowling !!!! :becky:

Eva - Hope you get your house all in order today and :washing: done!! I share your wish about the chocolate, wouldn't that be great?? :hungry:

LindaS - Wow!! Girl you have every right to whine!! You are the busiest Mom I know!! Don't know how you juggle everything on your plate??

Nana Linda - brrrrr here this morning too, I did not want to crawl out of my nice warm bed either!! But it sounds like it is supposed to get warm again for us with no rain in sight for the next while. We could really use the moisture. Isn't it nice that your kids have such a great Nana and they get their sleep at night, sure makes for a better morning!! I think that your choice of career for when you grow up is a great one and you would be awesome at it!! Wish I knew what I wanted to be when I grow up!! But maybe I just won't grow up :heh:

Hope you all have a great Wednesday and that all of your Wishes come true!!

brrrrr! it's cold here, too, but i don't want the furnace to come on. the nosebleeds will probably start again, even though we have a humidifier on the furnace. i have the thermostat set at 53 degrees, so the furnace WON'T come on until it's absolutely freezing in here. dunno how that's going to work out....

Chris, bummer about the tires. the matching thing actually IS the right thing to do. but i have often just replaced the worst two and put them together, with the new ones together, front or back. honestly. it's like a nightmare when it's time to replace tires. i always feel like i could buy a sofa with the amount of money they cost. but winter IS coming, so safety first, eh? and TG for Visa.... and i think your daughter must take after you with the good writing!

LindaS, you wildwoman! your schedule just about kills me! :fear:my kids, when they were little, always had to do their homework as soon as they got home and had their snack. i could never handle the late homework thing. nobody in our family ever was at their best after dinner!

Trudy, i can feel the Vacation Excitiement building all the way over here!! just the thought of it should keep you going. i want a vacation!!

Nana, i love the stuff that goes on in your head! it must be like haveing a Comedy Central feed going on 24/7! just reading your posts energize me! :whoo:

Eva, your page makes me so sad. i hope you see that dear face wearing that smile again soon. i can't imagine how difficult it is for all of you right now. ((hugs)), prayers, and positive thoughts for you and your son. on a happier note, glad you got the genealogy help that got you over that place you were stuck!

Heather, hope you get used to your time alone (sans kiddos.) i can imagine that we're in for some great HeartherART in the gallery!

today. hmmm. doing the Anna posts in the forum. then i have to REELEE figure out what the heck i'm wearing for this D&^*%$ class reunion. i just need to accept the fact that there isn't ANY outfit in this universe that will make me look thinner....

OTHD. YAY!!!! enjoy your Wednesday. except when you're my age and a SAH, every day seems like Saturday and the weeks don't have "humps" to get over....

Well, J was in his absolutely worst mood when the psychiatrist got here. Good in a way, she could see him at his worst too. First he refused to come down, but after like 20 minutes he at least came down and talked a bit. But he was NOT happy.

Now after she's gone I can hear him laughing. He's sitting by his computer with his friends. But you all know - friends on-line don't count as "real friends". ;)

Left alone, doing what he likes - he's happy. Why doesn't that count? Why is that seen as anti-social behaviour? He's never been more social than he is now. With his on-line friends, with the same interests as him.

Gee, I don't know if I should be depressed or pissed right now.

What I do know is that I have to go down and start preparing dinner. DH is home soon.

Yesterday was a long long LONG day. Worked 18 hours. I did decide to drive home late. Overslept this morning and woke up at 7:30. Thank goodness I don't have a real "office" to go to.

Did manage to make myself go walking this morning. Tomorrow makes two weeks of continuous walking. Trying to get into some kind of shape other than muffin tops. Although, I didn't make it to the gym today. I can't seem to get into the groove of working out at the gym. I just hate it. Wish I could begin to like it but I would rather be scrapping.

Lots of work today. Always have a ton to do once I get back from working out of town.

My hubby and I golf every Wednesday night in a small 9 hole tournament. I won it a couple of weeks ago. Last week I was humbled and golfed horrible. Hope today is better. Think I'll take my camera just in case I golf terrible--then I can just take pictures.

Chris--sorry about the tires. I hate spending money on stuff like this. Nothing pretty to look at. Nothing nice to enjoy. But--gotta be safe.

I feel for those of you who still have little ones left at home. The business of life, homework, activities.........We are somewhat empty nesters now (still have one on the payroll though). I look back on my life and wonder how I did it. I'll pray for all of you!!

The beets and beet juice have me laughing! Needed a good laugh today.

Terry.................I USED TO BE AN EMPTY NESTER

I inherited two of my grandchildren (my youngest DD has a mental disorder that she, for some reason, does not attend to like she should, so is not capable of taking care of them right now) .....so I am starting almost from scratch again...they are 4 and 5 yo....
