:rotfl: I accidentally typed Oct 33. *That* would have been interesting if I left it that way. You all would have thought I am even kookier than you realized before.

I had another night of god-awful sleep. I don't put full stock in FitBit monitoring but according to the app, I am getting between 5 and 5 1/2 hours of sleep each night. Last night, my body ached all over so I wondered if it was the side effects from the Osteo meds. My back and hips are still achy, so I assume that is what is happening. I keep saying to myself over and over again-- a little achiness now is better than bone breaks and joint replacements later. If I say it enough, I'll believe it. Eventually. ;)

I went into yesterday's HS session not feeling it. Not for any reason that I could put my finger on, just didn't feel like it was gelling. YKWIM? But it went well. We were learning about bats, echolocation, and bat anatomy. I read Stellaluna using my tablet and they seemed to enjoy that. Of course, the 9 yo helped me adjust the brightness settings since mine are set to read at night. LOL They loved the Bat and Moths game-- a variation of Marco Polo. The Bat was blindfolded and said Bat! and the other kids were the moths and replied Moth! while fluttering/running around the Gaga Ball pit.

I am cleaning for my "weapons" friend this afternoon which means I hope that this third large mug of coffee hits the sweet spot. Enough caffeine to keep my eyes open, not so much that my hands shake while I am dusting said weapons.

Sending you big hugs! :hug4:

@vickyday the weather was cool and dry yesterday afternoon. Tomorrow we will hit close-to-record or record temps- upper 70*s. I know I am not going to be happy when it gets cold and rainy in Nov but I am hoping that it does.
Great news that your wrist is improving, did your Dr have any suggestions?
I hope that you get your car back today!

@BrightEyes There is one MVC that you can usually get in and out of in a half hour here with an appt. There is another one that is a "full-service" office that you can get stuck at for hours even with an appt. When I have to go there, I make sure I bring water and snacks. 20 minutes would be a record!
I hope that you don't get slammed with the time change although I know you do every year.

@BoatLady You are so sweet! Thank you for being part of the Ooos too! ♥
White grout-- ughhhhhhhh.....
The area I live in has really hard water with lots of iron in it. If we had white grout, it would be orange in no time. Good luck with the new sunblock on your lips.

@taxed4ever My brain is still struggling to think properly and I couldn't think why the boys would need riding lessons. Wouldn't Jonah be able to teach them how to ride a bike? :giggle4:
Duh!! Horses, they must be riding horses! Silly Faery LOL
That's awesome for them and what a great idea to find the helmet on FB and use your free shipping.
If I had to make a prediction, I don't think your Gary is going to retire either--but that might be a good thing for you :wehaveawinner: haha!

Chris youre awesome at this thread and we love how much time you put in getting us going every morning@! Wrong date? We dont care! We love you! :hug2:

Hmmm... maybe I should have left the Oct 33rd date up there, see if you still love me after that! :eek3:
Has it stopped snowing yet? How much did you end up getting? It's cute watching the dogs play in the snow but how do you keep the little ones from getting buried?!

Kay- what a disappointment about the plums having mold on them, what a waste :(
Hope you had a cozy day inside reading!

We had 70s on Sunday and upper 80s yesterday, supposed to be cooler today and 40 tomorrow. I'm ready for seasonable weather.
@faerywings Yes, counting Wendell there are 6 normal siblings, held hostage by the 4 evil ones. That part of the drama is finished, but the one sister is still stirring the pot.

We have started our stockpiling of barbecued goodies for winter. I know many of you aren't carnivores but we sure are. Sunday we had 4 racks of necked ribs on the grill for 9 hrs. so 3 are now vac sealed & in the freezer. Monday we put 2 pork butts on at 5pm & took them off yesterday at 5. Pulled it apart with my hands it was so tender. Had it for supper and then vac sealed 6 pkgs of that. I ordered a fresh turkey at the butcher shop last Friday , we'll get it Nov. 25 and do that on the grill. I hate carving a turkey, but I need that carcass for the soup base for Christmas Eve's Geek Lemon Chicken Soup.

My stomach has been feeling off since Sunday night so laying low, I have a CT layout to upload and then I'm going to get after the Christmas cards. Yes, I'm that person. My coffee seems to be gone. Be back later.

I think its the year/season. I feel the same way. I dont know why but its like, something is off. I think it might be the unrest leading up to the election and just making everything feel off. But yeah IKWYM! I love Stellaluna!!! Such a sweet book and read it every night to my kids in the 90's. They loved the book.
Hmmm... maybe I should have left the Oct 33rd date up there, see if you still love me after that! :eek3:

Yes, we would have loved you anyway and thought, Yep, our sweet crazy Chris is off today but that's okay cause we love her!
It stopped snowing but might start again tomorrow. We got just over a foot and it was wet wet heavy snow. The littles just follow the bigs, jumping from foot print to foot print. They also hop along in the human footprints. Its adorable. But they then run full speed as soon as its cleared and they can move.

I wouldn't have thought to stockpile! We just got a grill blanket and we grill year round. As long as its above 20* we grill. Otherwise it wont ever get warm enough.

Need coffee and to wake a child up. HAGD

Morning ladies... it is so dark and gloomy outside!! I hate that the days are so short now and to put me in a even worse mood, it is pouring rain, so no hike for me today. I know I am bad for not going, a lot of our group hikes no matter what the weather is. I don't find it enjoyable hiking up a mountain in the pouring rain :gloomy:. I do miss seeing my friends though and the social aspect of our group! So today I will stay home and get caught up on a few projects. Heather called last night to thank us for the laptop we sent to her last week with the free shipping, she is very grateful for it and a few other things I threw into that parcel!! :lovey3:. I had to laugh as she said "who knew a computer could be that fast?" It was a laptop that my DH spilled wine all over and when we took it in to have it repaired they told us there was nothing they could do to fix it. It always worked as long as it was plugged in, but as soon as you unplugged it the battery just died. Well I used it for awhile in my craft room, until I got my new iMac, then my old iMac went in the craft room and I put the laptop in a drawer. When Heather said she needed a new one I thought I would see if she wanted that laptop that I put away. I got it out and it still was working and for some reason it was now keeping a charge also. Guess it just really needed to be dried out completely and free from the wine my DH spilled all over it :giggle4:. Anyway I reset it back to factory settings and sent it off to her, she loves it!! I have been working on some Halloween cards for the neighbour kids, its been fun doing those I have a couple more to finish off today.

Ohhh nooo not another crappy night of sleeping!! Have you been taking Melatonin my friend?? Yes please be careful while cleaning at the weapons house!! Ha, Ha yes I suppose I should have been a bit more specific about the riding lessons, guess I just assume everyone knows what I am talking about :hahano:. I agree that DH probably will never retire and yup that would be a good thing for me LOL.

Hope that you and Ilene have a nice breakfast this morning and how awesome to sell your cling stamps!! It would be so much fun if I did live closer to you and then I could buy your cling stamps and you could listen to some of the wild stories my DH has about his career, he has a lot of them !!

My mouth is watering over your barbecued goodies!! DH and I are huge carnivores!! (Sorry Chris)! There is nothing better than a good rack of ribs or a great steak!! Yummmmmm!!!! Yup the turkey will make great soup base! That is one thing I am doing today, making bone broth from our turkey carcass. I do it in the instant pot, its so easy and quick and makes the best broth ever!! No smell either, or very little. It only takes a couple of hours to cook instead of all day long or longer.

That wet deep snow is what we usually get here, however not usually until the end of December. Love that plowing the snow is one of happy places!! BTW what is a grill blanket?? I might have to get one for my DH if it means you can grill well into winter. Not sure he would think it would be a good idea or not though.

Ok I better hit the shower and get on with the day, hope to work on a layout today and really need to get cracking with the calendar too. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!:waving3:

We grill with a pellet grill, and they make blankets to wrap around so they stay warm.

Makes so we can grill most of the year. We take it off for summer though. There's nothing like a nice grilled steak in the middle of winter. Makes summer not feel so far off. Or grilled burgers. Yep, I am in carnivore camp with your and @JeanneMN Bring on the meat! Caveman style! :giggle4: Sorry Chris. Twin started it! :pokestick:

Morning, all. Well, I broke down and turned the heat on last night. Got down to high 30's last night and will be at or below freezing for the next several nights. Brrrr!!! :brrr: Definitely time to change into winter PJs, too!!! :cold: Think I will be staying in for a few days while the temps are down and the wind is blowing.

Almost bought a turkey last week... the store had them for 90 cents a pound!!! Then I remembered that my electric knife broke last spring (it was about 60 years old) and not having any one over for the holiday meals. Decided that I will buy a turkey breast instead. Will miss having the turkey carcass to use to make turkey and dumplings though. I did get some canned pumpkin so I can make a pumpkin pie.

Time to get dressed and start on the :laundry:. HAGD

What a hassle hubby had today, he went to get his license renewed here in FL...long story short ...May 2021 the 3rd day of our summer trip we were in S. Carolina and a lady (on her phone) hit our trailer and totaled it her fault. S Carolina put his license on hold so he couldn't renew. He had to prove he had insurance on the truck..we gave then our card when the accident happened but obliviously something went wrong. Then he came home to make phone calls to get it straightened out after over 1 1/2 hours he finally got it solved. The truck and it's insurance had nothing to do with the accident...grrr but I guess it will work out ok.

@AK_Tracy Never heard of those blankets but it sounds great. When we lived up North we grilled outside all winter but it was harder to get the grill hot. I imagine it's even harder in your cold temps.
Deep wet snow is horrible. Here is the truck set up you need....This is my son's auto repair shop in CT. They put this plow on for the customer, he also sell plows and other winter products.

We will grill off and on during the winter, we can monitor it from inside, but Wendell doesn't care to set it all up in the winter. I'm not as much of a weenie :floorlaugh:

Those cards are so cute, Trudy! Great job!
I picked Mark up from work and took him with me to breakfast with Ilene. My wrist was hurting so badly that I made him drive and then made Ilene follow me home and then drive me to her house and back after we finished playing Qwirkle!

Hello everybody.

Just thought I'd pop in for a minute. I haven't been feeling all that great for a couple of days and today I am just totally exhausted. This has been coming on for a few days - more of a head cold that I probably picked up at the party Saturday night. Roger has been sick since Sunday, Adrienne has been exhausted, Alyssa doesn't feel good and Drake has something. Ava's still up and going. She just brought me a care package about an hour ago. She's the best. Fresh flowers, some of her special tea, some drinks that have electrolytes in them, some oatmeal and soup, yogurt snack packs, plus a few other things. They were all packaged in a lovely basket with Halloween paper all around the goodies. I'm going to go get a flu shot this weekend - Steph said as long as I don't have a fever it's okay to get one.

Plus, my cat has been gone since about this time last night. He never stays away this long. The longest he's stayed out has been noon the next day. I'm really worried about him, and we are having bad winds and there are storm watches out all around us.

Such a bundle of joy I am.

Oh No @Cherylndesigns I'm so sorry everyone is not well I hope you all feel better very soon. Your care package should help with all those goodies.
I hope your cat comes home, it's horrible to not know where he is.
Thanks so much, Debby. I'm feeling better tonight, and I think everybody else is, too. Ava is the only one who hasn't gotten a bug (hopefully, she won't). I found my kitty tonight and brought him inside. He's sleeping soundly in his little basket - all curled up. We're (my dog and I) checking on him periodically. :heartpumpred: :heartpumpred:
