Hey there and good morning, O-fam! Hope everyone is having a fantastic day and week so far.
I had a super fun day yesterday. The wedding dress shopping was amazing. Caitlyn tried on a bunch of dresses, lots of different styles, and really loved two of them, both of them very different. One is very subtle, plain material, but has a gorgeous keyhole back and long lacy train. The other has a beaded bodice and full, fluffy, layered tulle for the skirt. She is incredibly beautiful in both of them but the floofy one is much more "her." My mom was so happy seeing her all dressed up too. We went to lunch afterward and talked more about the pros and cons of the different styles. It's all very exciting.

It was the four of us for dinner and Gary cooked. Yay! After dinner, we played Thunder Mountain Railroad, which was a lot of fun, as always.
Caitlyn has my car today so I am stuck here. As if I would be going anywhere otherwise. bwuhahahah!!!
I am getting my covid booster/flu shot tomorrow so my plan is to get the house tidied and maybe some food cooked in case I am down for the count for a day or so ( pleeeaaasse no more than that). I have some scrapping I should catch up on.

@LSlycord You must be loving life, visiting so many of your family and friends. I have to ask, what foods can't you get in FL? Are you going to be able to bring some stuff back with you? When I was in PA for college, the only pasta I could find was elbows and spaghetti. I would ask if they had tortellini and they looked at me like I had two heads.

@bcgal00 Is the autumn color change very different in Kamloops than where you lived before? You have been taking such incredible wildlife photos, everything looks so pretty! I am glad that Bella is doing better too

@Cherylndesigns It's rainy here but weirdly warm and humid. The fog was crazy thick driving over the mountain on the way to my mom's.
The fact that Caitlyn is a "known quantity" is all I can focus on for the job ATM, and I feel like I am making myself bonkers trying to analyze it. The other candidate has more experience as an advisor but who knows... :/
So funny how kids just somehow know stuff. I think it's because they have the ability to google everything in a split second so they do.
Caitlyn always thought she would wear a black wedding dress and then totally changed her mind. She is going to end up with something pretty traditional, I think.
You--- agree with Ava no matter what??? NAH!!!! hahahah

@vickyday We go through steam cleaners pretty often, with cats/dogs/kids and lots of mud, I think I steam clean every few months.
The trip sounds like a lot of fun! have to ask, what is Qwirkle? As you can tell, my family loves playing games together.
October is flying by-- only 2 more months to 2022!

Quick in and out for me. We are leaving Iowa and heading to Kahoka, MO for lunch. Brian's sister lives there. Then to St. Louis to spend the night. One of my Iowa nieces is in St. Louis this week for work so we are staying at the same hotel tonight and will be able to catch up and eat supper together. So I'm pretty darned happy. I have the most adorable great niece and nephew...which has me so very happy to have seen them. And they all made up to me right away...I wish I were closer to them. But, only 2 more hotel nights and Friday night I'll be back in my own bed in Florida...and I can't wait. Can't wait to see Shaun and the dogs.

Downloaded a kit for ColorPlay and hoping to get something done in the car today. That's my life today.

Yes! 2022 has just flown by! I'm getting how the years seem to fly by faster and faster the older I get!
Qwirkle is so fun! If your family loves playing games, this is one you must get! I'm taking it with me to Ilene's today as she loves it, too! The long and short of it is that it is a color/shape matching game. Check out the app "6 in a row" or something like that to get somewhat of an idea about it. But, I can't figure the app out, LOL! Just buy the game! I'm sure you won't be sorry! My son love strategy games and I was afraid he would think it was BORING! However, he loved it! There are some strategies you can work towards.....as long as you draw the correct tiles! Basically, there are 6 shapes and 6 colors. The object of the game is to get 6 in a row......either one each (no duplicates allowed in one row) of the 6 shapes in one color, or the same shape in the 6 different colors. There are 3 of each tile. That matters when you get into the game. A Qwirkle is given to the person who completes a 6-in-a-row set. Each tile you lay down counts as 1 point.....2 if it connects 2 rows. A Qwirkle is worth 12 points. You lay the pieces down in scrabble fashion for counting points. You keep building on the board, adding to the rows that are there. No row can have more than the 6 different shapes or color. I tried to make a visual but it didn't work!

Quick in and out.
It is cloudy here today, not too chilly. I'm getting ready to get dressed and head over to Ilene's. We will go to lunch first and then go back to her house to play Qwirkle and/or Rummikub. Pretty soon it will be time to get the jigsaw puzzles out.
Hubby is back to work today after being off for 8 days. I'm sure that was hard to do! I remember those first days back to work! He will be mentally exhausted tonight!
That's the plan for me today!

Quick in and out - I voted on Sat - 1st day of in-person early voting and the polling place was only 2 blocks from my house!! Love it! Had a hard time making the small motor-function of right hand fill in the small circles - ended up using left hand to stabilize the right. No wonder my hand-writing is so bad now. Better early in the day and gets worse as the day goes on. Had the 1st freeze on Monday night and only got to 49*F as a high Tuesday. Managed to get my hair cut yesterday and picked up several more DVDs at the used Books/DVDs store. Need to mail some bills at the Post Office so will take the library books back at the same time. I really miss chatting with everyone daily and scrapping LOs - but know that makes the tingling worse. So it will short and sweet for awhile.

Good morning ladies. I think today will be a Costco day and pet store for treats. I like our Costco, not quite as big but not ever as busy as the ones in Vancouver. I found a crockpot soup to make - Turkey Pumpkin Chili (keto). Jen is interested in that too. With her braces in, it is hard for her to find soft things to eat that she likes so hopefully this is a hit with her.

@faerywings Because of the different climate here (semi-desert), there are some trees/shrubs/plants than in the Vancouver area. We have a lot of ponderosa pine, sagebrush, cactus, birch, elm and ash trees. If you drive to the outskirts of Kamloops, higher elevation, you get a bit more rain and less of the desert plants. That is why I am able to get such a variety of photos, there is a different climate just 20 minutes away.

So glad C found 2 dresses she likes. I can't wait to see pics.

@LSlycord Safe travels as you make your way closer to home.

@vickyday Rubbikub, that sure brings back memories. My mom loved that game. We haven't played it in years.

@BrightEyes Sorry to hear your hand is so bad.

Good morning, all. It's sunny today - yay - and currently 55 going up to 70.. My girls got home and I got to see them yesterday! We all missed each other so much!! You'd have thought they'd been gone for months. We're just so used to seeing each other every day. We're going for manis/pedis today - well, just a pedi for me. They have gel nails, so they get both and I take my Kindle (that reminds me, I need to get it charged up more) and read while they're finishing up.

Funny story, Casey bought some air pods that translate other languages - they're very pricey, but she wears them to the nail salon and she says it's crazy what the Vietnamese nail techs are saying. We've always known they were making fun of us, but I really don't want to know what they're saying - I'd probably never go back. BWAHAHA Casey's a big girl and one of them said, "she has small feet for such a big girl". You know every time they all laugh, they're making fun of somebody.

Chris @faerywings why doesn't it surprise me that Cait always said she wanted a black wedding dress? I'm pretty sure Ava will change her mind when the time comes. I'm so glad that the three of you had such a wonderful time yesterday! That's so exciting - I remember.

Linda @LSlycord what fun you are having and staying at the same hotel with your niece? How fun!! I'm sure you'll be glad to get back to your own bed, though.

Kay @BrightEyes it's good to see you popping in here. I'm glad you got to vote early - I wish we could. We vote right down from our house, though - very close, too. We got absentee ballots and Chuck forgot all about them and we think it's too late now. LOL We've voted absentee for so long and now we have to go to the polls. Oh well, it is what it is. He put them in a folder and there they stayed. LOL

I'm going to get off here and make my bed so Daisy can come in - she jumps right in the middle and then it's hard to get her off long enough to make it. The cat is waiting to come in too and claim "his chair".
