goooOd morning! I am having a better morning than I did yesterday. Whew! Some of the family drama is working itself out and that makes me feel much better. I guess like all families, these things happen. I put so much stake into the family dynamic since it feels like it is all I have ;)
All four of us were together for dinner which was a nice time to chat and regroup.

Food shopping took longer than I expected since I was texting with Cait a lot. She has this nightmare of a professor who basically told the class that no matter how much they studied, there was no way anyone was going to get an A on the midterm. So then, why bother? She has been complaining about him before (I think I have shared a story or two here) and I told her that she really needed to file a complaint. A couple of her classmates went with her to the supervisor who was pretty shocked at this. He had never had a complaint like this about this teacher so he is going to monitor the situation, see what happens with midterms/grades. It might not help Caitlyn's class but maybe he won't be able to cause so much angst in his next course. (He is an adjunct and only teaches this one class).

I didn't take leave, there aren't enough down yet to make a difference, just enough to hide the piles of poop. LOL I cleaned inside for a bit. Cait and I took W for a walk and then I finished that spooky scrap page.

Today, I have to start working on F-W's products/recipes for the holiday season, (ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!) then I am cleaning this afternoon.

HAGD!!!

Nancy- it is always so cool to hear how the team reacts to your pages, must be such a thrill for you!

Trudy- Ugh about the rain-- we are going to have a storm coming in Friday through Sunday which is going to make it miserable for the rabies clinic and anniversary party on Sat. So sorry to hear that you have family drama too. But it must have felt good to be out in the yard, as you know, that always clears my head. Great news that Hunter is feeling better.

Rae- stories about Taz always makes me smile! my dogs don't seem to care about leaves, but W loves the snow.

:HapBirth:

Happy birthday!! I didn't know it was your b-day either :sorry:

I am happy that B is getting out and seeing other people at the treatment center. Just getting a change of scenery and human contact on a regular basis has to be a positive thing for her. I hope they don't send her back to Surrey too! all good thoughts to you and B

good morning - Well I am a new great aunt. My niece in law gave birth to a baby girl named Dinah. That is a name I have not heard in years. I think this makes number 9 in grandchildren for my sister. Wow cracks me up to have that many grands. I got my car to my son for the oil change and check the tires. Yes it was the cold weather that caused the tire pressure to go down. He pumped them up and now my car runs so well. I am happy! I did not win the lottery LOL. But it was fun to be in it. My hair is good so that too makes me happy! Last night watched the Oilers with star player Connor McDavid vs the Penguins with star Sidney Crosby. Well it went to OT as both McDavid and Crosby scored but it was Crosby who put on the final show and scored an amazing OT game winning goal. So I think that Crosby is still the best.

Chris glad you are feeling better with the family drama calming down. Poor Cait and her professor. That is so terrible for him to say that to the class. Glad she complained because if they don't then it just continues. Our leaves are not falling yet but are turning colors. Really getting pretty.

Trudy hope the swimming went well. Glad that Hunter is doing so much better. Sorry for your family drama! Hope you get some scrapping done.

Rae glad to hear that B is responding positively to being around others. Good she is getting out. I sure hope she is not back in the same hospital is there is waiting. Congrats on the editing and helping your friend with their new diet! You are the best!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... Hike day today and it will be an easy one. It is very near our place so I will meet the group at the trailhead. It is the estuary near Cowichan Bay, we have done this one a couple of times, but it is a perfect one for this time of year. Lots of birds and wildlife. More of a good walk than a hike LOL. The full moon is shining on the Lake this morning and it is so beautiful, hope that the skies stay clear for our hike/walk.

Chris - Glad to hear that the family drama worked itself out! So nice that you are feeling better today! It always helps to get together and air out the dirty laundry :becky: Wow that is so sad that Cait has a teacher with that kind of behaviour!! It is best that they complain or like Nancy said, It will never be dealt with and will continue! I got out to cut back my peonies and flox, but the wind had picked up and man the temps really dropped! It was very chilly and I had to get it done quickly before my darn fingers froze off LOL. Nice to have that little job taken care of though! Hunter is feeling better, but still has a bit of a rattle in his lungs. I was happy to hear that his Dr. called to see how he was doing, that doesn't happen too often anymore  Heather of course did not get to the phone in time to answer, so she had to call him back, but they will finish with the antibiotics etc before taking him in to see the dr. again.

Nancy - Wow congrats on becoming a great Auntie again! Nine, that is a lot of grandkids for your sister!! Glad to hear that your car got checked out and is now running great again! Yes Sid the kid is a super hockey player, but not my fav LOL. My brother will be sad that his Oilers lost in OT!! I did have a great swim at the pool yesterday! The lanes were practically empty for a change. Not sure why? :noidea: seems to be no rhyme or reason to it!

:HapBirth: to you Rae!! I did not realize it was your birthday either :sorry: Happy to hear that B is being taken good care of, but sad to think that she may have to go back to Surrey!! It would be great if that did not happen and she and J could move in with you instead! Hope that your workload is not too heavy today!

Ok lots to do this morning before heading out to my hike, have a great Wednesday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Got Taz off to daycare and grabbed some groceries. I've got the dishwasher going, need to do laundry, rice some cauliflower and grind some coffee beans. Will run out at lunchtime and see if canadian tire has any instant pot pressure cookers left. They've been on sale so fingers crossed I can get one. The price is good.

Chris - glad that C put in a complaint. Like you said, even if it doesn't help her or her class, it is on record and if other complaints come in, it strengthens the validity of future complaints and then maybe they'll address it.

Nancy - Dinah, such a pretty name. I should get D to check my tires too. It's been awhile.

Trudy - hope the rain holds off. Sounds like a great hike today.

I'm getting to work now. Have a great day, everyone.

I've been distracted a bit lately. Back to last Thursday, the Hum & Strum library event went very well, one of their most enthusiastic sing along audiences. The doors were open and library patrons and a librarian were drawn to the music. Saturday was the monthly computer genealogy group meeting. In the afternoon I talked about a new program I'm very enthusiastic about and did a lot of prep for that. Actually I found a problem in it that I reported on Sunday and which was fixed in a new release yesterday. Monday after DH came home from H&S I was off to a meeting of the lineage groups steering committee as we're trying afternoons as an alternative to evening meeting times. Though the trees are mostly green, they are getting more color and we discovered that the poinsettia is finally starting to get red in the new leaves, so Christmas really is coming. (It is actually a sign the days are now shorter than the nights.) Last night I made dinner with a slightly new idea for chicken that I liked but DH only so so and we watched the rather long game 1 of the World Series. I'm not big on either team, but it was interesting. My last bit of baseball for a long time!

Chris, good to see you more upbeat, but bummer with Cait's professor. Probably thinks that will motivate or some such misguided nonsense (or just a disgruntled person). We need people like Cait who take action.

Nancy, loved the story with your Sweden page at the signing event. You're sounding happy too which is good.

Trudy, what a pleasant hike I think you're having today. Such a beautiful place where you live. Nice that you got a time a that pool with no crowd. Amazing that the doctor called to check on Hunter! Glad he is getting better.

Rae, :bday, sorry we didn't know!
