Hello my O-zies! How are all of you today?
We are having some heavy rain, yay! Fill up those reservoirs!

I am going to be home today-- my car has to go in the shop. I think I need new brakes and possibly a realignment. So many potholes. :( We'll drop the car off in the am, and maybe have it done in the afternoon? I hope so!

Not much else here. The Tuscan bean soup was really good. I have to see if I can convert it to a crock pot recipe. It was sort of a pain having to watch it on the stove all day. 2 hours to cook the soaked beans, then another hour to make the soup part, then another 10 for the pasta to cook in it.

I hope to get my house in some order today as long as I am stuck here. Wish me luck!!!

Nancy- how was the game last night? Did you win?? When I was in HS, I was a big Rangers fan and we used to go see them when they played the Devils. It was always a good but tense time LOL

Trudy- that is the best kind of rain-- overnight!
That is awesome that you made Italian Wedding Soup! I told my mom about your dream of us together in the kitchen and she loved it. It would be fun :)

Jean- I hope all of the painting goes quickly for you. I hate it when my house is not put together. Which is often. Oh well!
Who are you rooting for in the World Series?

Morning all...

It's been a hectic kind of couple days with a lot of house issues and various appointments connected with the upcoming knee surgery. Some of semi-trivial such as getting a shorter haircut to last me til the day before surgery since I won't be too mobile for a while. Ditto on scheduling a pedicure Just Before. But otherwise all is well with the two residents chez nous.

Chris, once you do your bean soaking (and do that overnight girl!) then the crockpot is perfect for a long slow cook. I made lasagne soup - one serving for him, and the rest frozen yesterday. Lasagne Soup If you freeze it in containers, put the noodles on top so they don't swell as much from the liquid. I also add the mozzerella on serving. Once the beef and onion are browned this too could be a crockpot soup. Frozen chopped spinach also works.

Trudy, we had rain all night here and it's still raining. I believe this afternoon will be some baking time if the rain continues.

Jean, there is nothing like having to empty/sort out a room for painting etc. I always think I will do a serious clean out then! It never seems to happen as much as I'd like somehow....

Phylis, if naked it's best to stay inside unless under 5 y. o. Plus t'aint the season, is it. ;)

Well, once I have my breakfast, get a load of laundry in, we will be invaded by a friend who is coming to install a new smoke/co alarm, and see why our skylight shade is not opening. He never stops talking while here but he does good work. I may go and visit a friend of my own!

Have a good day ladies an be well!

Good morning - it is a grey wet day and as I am reading book 5 of the Outlander series that is probably all I will do all day. I am loving the books but they tend to drag me until I finish them to the detriment of my house and family and scrapping LOL. The game last night was strange the Devils had a 3-1 lead early in the 3rd but lost in OT. A friend who got us really awesome seats to hockey at MSG came to the game and came up to see us. He game me his ticket for the second period as he wanted to talk with my DH. He laughingly said that the Rangers were going to win and did we mind if he cheered for both teams. Sad to say but I take my Devils hockey seriously and yes it irritated me no end. It put a real damper on the 3rd period as he would not shut up. I should have gone back down to his seat. He is nice and harmless and does not realize how much I love my hockey team. Oh well. Sorry to rant about something so trivial. I did get in a lot of walking almost 10 miles. I walked early as they called for rain and my girlfriend is sick. Then she wanted to go so I walked again. Then walked to and from the arena. Needless to say I slept really well!

Chris enjoy your day of doing things indoors. Hope that the car repairs are simple and straight forward and not too costly!

Maureen the pedicure and hair cut awesome ways to get ready for your surgery! The soup sounds yummy!

Trudy your soup sounds yummy too. Rain at night always makes me sleep well!

Have a great day all!

Morning all... Sunshine again after a full night of pouring :rain: It woke me up a couple of times it was raining so hard!! Not much happening here today. I will get ready to go swimming soon and talk to my sweet grandson while his mommy gets his lunch ready. I really have to go find some new books to read to him, he loves his stories, but grandma is getting tired of reading the same old books!

Chris - Good luck on getting your cleaning, purging done today! A perfect time to do it if it is raining and chilly outside! Hope your car repairs are not too expensive for you, but my goodness you have to have breaks :becky: Hope your area spends some money on getting all of those potholes repaired!! We are constantly having paving crews fix up the roads around here, but happy that they are at least doing it!!

Phylis - Ohhh I checked out that Lasagna Soup, it looks scrumptious!! I will definitely have to try that one! Great idea to have your haircut and pedi done before surgery! Are you getting nervous? I know that you will be fine and your life will be better once it is all taken of!! Hope your repair man/friend doesn't talk your ear off and gets your repairs done quickly!

Nancy - Ohh don't you hate it when people gloat in your face!! don't they know that this hockey stuff is serious business!! That is why I do not care for the Montreal fans, they are the worst for shoving it in your face when they win!!! Hope your Devils do better for you next time! Wow lots of walking for you yesterday! Bet your legs are tired, but so good for you!! Hooray for sleeping well!!

Another cup of coffee is calling me and I better get some breakfast in my tummy before I do anything else. Have a great day everyone!!

Afternoon all! Rain has ended, but still cloudy here. Probably work on the DR stuff again and an article I'm trying to write, maybe bake DH's muffins again having quit when it was warm.

Chris, a day at home sounds less tiring until I remember that it's you, so I know you'll manage to work hard anyway.

Maureen, love the ways you're getting ready for the knee.

Nancy, sorry about the other "fan" at the game. I imagine smoke coming out your ears!

Trudy, nice to have sun. Hope you find new books for Grandma to read.
