I am breathing a big sigh of relief, my mammo/US results came in and they are good! It noted a few small things that have been seen before but no changes and I am all set for a year. Whew. I didn't expect any problems but to see it written in b/w is nice.
Cross off one thing to dream about. yay!

How was your day? I made an apple crisp and it was so yummy. I increased the topping- the best part- by 50%. It is oats and apples, that counts as breakfast, right? :hungry:
What else did I do? Not too much other than yell at the washing machine. Again. It is filling up with water on its own. Gary spent more time on the phone with Home Depot and Whirlpool and we aren't getting anywhere with them. Our other Whirlpool lasted for 15 years, this one is 1 1/2 years old and has been miserable. The tech has to come back up again on Friday to say it isn't working again- fill out more paperwork and send trouble tickets back up. The guy is a contractor for Home Depot's warranty division and only gets paid for the *first* visit, the rest are considered follow-ups. Gary is trying to save him another trip but Home Depot has their requirements. *grumbles*

Today I am going to clean my bathroom and vacuum. Scott and Leah are coming back today too. I hope they had a relaxing break up there. The sun is out which makes it better for him and my dad. My dad is heading up so the two of them can move the cord of wood that was delivered in the driveway. My mom has her house to herself today. I wonder what that is like???

Wishing everyone a very happy day!
xoxo

Rae- that sounds brutal for your back to hurt so much. You said it is arthritis? Not much they can do for that I guess.
I looked up Altered Carbon on Netflix and it looks like we watched 2 episodes already but neither Gary nor I can remember it at all. Is it worth trying again? I really like the second season of UA- much more than the first and I liked that one a lot too.
I hope that you are able to get back out and take photos of the wildlife, they always made me happy to see. How is my boy Taz??? Give him some belly rubs!!

Nancy- I can't watch shows that make me emotional. I was getting teary at the end of a Lucifer episode last night. Yikes. hehehe. Did you watdh Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman back "in the day?" If you didn't I bet that would be something that you would enjoy. I only watched and episode or two but I know my BFF liked it.
I am still so very happy and excited for you and your DS and MG!!

Trudy- did your power stay on?
*** I had to post this quickly b/c as soon as I typed this, Gary came back inside and asked if he blew all of the power or just outside. I took that as a sign :D He is in the basement messing with the fuse box***

OK-- back to Trudy!
I am happy that you had a nice Thanksgiving. How was your MIL's tests at the hospital? Hope she is doing ok.

Cheryl- I hope that Ava's house's "mistakes" weren't major and just give it a bit of character. :D Are Ava and Cameron Adrienne's kids? I am trying to build your family tree in my head. I can't imagine how exciting it all is!
I can't say I blame you for wanting your own compound!

Computer is still in the shop and I am on a laptop with no software. I have trouble typing on it due to the flat keyboard and my long fingernails plus I end up touching the pad which move the arrows when I don't intend it do that!!! I have a mouse attached but it moves differently than the one for my computer. It takes me 4-5 longer to type anything so is a PITA!!! Looks like it might be next week before I get my computer back.... So I'm not coming in here much.

Covid cases are getting worse here so I am mostly staying home except for doc appts, the library, and grocery store. See my dermatologist on Friday...have a few moles that need to be taken off.

CYL as this is too hard totype on.

Morning ladies!! Cloudy but there are some patches of blue out there, so I will be hiking today. Yesterday's wind storm sure left us with another mess to clean up both in the front and the back yards :mmph: Big branches and lots of fir cones Ugh!! Oh well we still have to put the flower garden to bed for the winter so we may as well do all that at the same time. Oh I finally get to go back to swimming laps on Friday, Hooray!! You have to book a time online and go to the pool ready to swim. They greet you at the door and give you a sanitized bin to store your belongings in you are assigned to a lap lane and you have one hour. Not sure yet if they are allowing us to change into dry clothes before we leave in the change rooms, so I will call and find out about that sometime today. So I have booked myself for the rest of this month for Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:50 Hope that they will not allow more than two people to a lane, but allowing one would be better!! Our hike today is a new one and it looks like it could be a bit challenging, so I will be bringing my hiking poles for this one!

Chris - Yes our power did stay on for the day, but SIL Linda lost her power for most of the day, there were lots of outages scattered all over the place on the island. We did have some flickering, but it was nice to not have it go out completely. Happy to hear that your Mammo screening came back all clear! That must be a relief! But oh no!!! not more problems with your washing machine!! Darn it! I hope that they will just end up replacing that darn thing for you! Have not heard how things went for MIL's visit to the hospital yet and probably won't, unless we are the ones that call, they have something against picking up the telephone :mmph: She seems to be doing well and was quite happy to be here and have us wait on her for a change LOL. She almost cried when they left as she was so appreciative of us having them for Thanksgiving, neither of her girls offered to host them and that just makes me sad  I told her that it was our pleasure, I mean think of all the work she has done to host dinners for all of us over the years. I felt bad for her and really wanted to hug her DAM COVID!!

Kay - Can't say as I blame you for not wanting to be here much when your laptop gives you all that trouble just trying to type. Sure hope you get your PC back soon!! Sad to hear that the Covid cases are increasing you area, they are here too, still not too bad considering what is going on in the rest of the world, stay safe!!

Ok better get going and get my backpack and lunch all ready to go. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

good morning - well I have been to the grocery store and back and did not come close to anyone and everyone masked and staying apart. What a strange thing to be happy about that people wear masks. LOL. I did not have to go today except the cat was out of food and while I can find stuff to eat you can never let a pet run out of food. Shadow puts up with my tossing and turning at night. I did a good deed yesterday. I finally got out for a walk late after the kids brought dinner. It finally stopped raining. I was walking across the street when a dog escaped his owner and started to chase me into the street. I don't like dogs that do that but it was a little dog but it is also a busy corner so I made sure to not let his come into the street. The neighbor was so happy. Of course made me feel good. His dog always barks at Luther when we pass the house. Too funny. It was great to see the kids they brought BBQed chicken and pasta with broccoli. Yummy.

Chris congrats on the mammo results. Funny but not funny about the power. I am sure it must use some for the Halloween projects Gary creates. I have been seeing home now that are spectacular. I did watch Dr. Quinn. I really liked that show as I love westerns. But the Midwife series is set in a poor district in London and it shows how medicine changes. They had never had a name for cystic fibrosis and they were just getting the polio vaccine. The stories make me cry from happiness as well as sadness. The bravery of women having home births with no pain meds and how then how pain meds came into use. Of course you get caught up in the lives of the nuns and the midwives.

Trudy hoped the power stayed on and you got the cleaning done. Hope you can hike today and the rain and the wind go way!

Kay that is a bummer about the computer taking so long to get fixed. I feel you about cutting down on the number of places I go too.

Cheryl that is something so cool about the compound of family that is coming together. It will so fun to be so close yet to have your own spaces. I loved seeing the photos. I guess someone's house has to be the first. But as Chris said it gives it character. And yes I told my sister about the Hemmingway cats and the extra toes. She had not heard of it but looked them up. She said the shelter said it is rare but every once in awhile. She feels lucky to have a mittens in the middle of a desert.

Have a great day all. The sun is out and blue skies and I will walk.

Good morning, ladies. It was our anniversary yesterday. We stayed home b/c of my back injury and it was a good thing we did b/c the basement flooded. The City of Poco was cleaning out the sewers and it ended up backing up into at least 4 homes on our street. Luckily we have a dry/wet vac in the basement so D was able to suck up most of the water (about an inch throughout the garage and 6 feet into the laundry room and bathroom. I don't think any damage was done as D sucked up the water, him and Jen just had to move everything out of the way and let the floor dry. I couldn't do much to help b/c of my back, I felt bad that they had to do it all.

This morning I'm going to have fun and do a challenge. I have my kneeling chair which feels so much better for my back so I can sit at the computer with hardly any pain.

Chris - I need to catch up on Luther. I haven't watched the newest release on Netflix yet. Love that show.

Trudy - glad your power didn't go out. Our power stayed on but boy, was it windy here.

Kay - sounds frustrating trying to use your laptop. You'll be glad next wk to get your computer back.

Nancy - Taz and I have had to lure stray dogs away from the street around here too sometimes. There's a huge greyhound at the corner that gets out (he looks like a little skinny horse, he's so big) and I get him to follow Taz to bring him back home as he doesn't listen to his owner when he gets out.

Hope you all have a great day, I'm going to go look at the challenges and enjoy some scrappy time.

Chris, that's such a relief to have that come back okay. I remember that big sign of relief. You just can't get it out of your head - that maybe this is your "turn" and when it comes back normal, it's a "thank you" moment.

Your apple crisp sounds amazing. Ugh about your washing machine. My saying is "things are only built to last a couple of years, these days". Our appliances used to work for 25 years. Such is life. :(

I know this family is confusing. LOL Adrienne (our oldest) has 5 kids - yikes! I have always been in awe of here, but I digress. Cameron is the oldest - he'll be 24 next month, Jordan is next, he'll be 22 in January, then Ava, she just turned 20, then Braden, he just turned 16 and the youngest is Alyssa, she'll be 15 in November. Whew! Think of these 5 all being at our house every weekend when they were kids. It was a fun, lively time.

Then our youngest, Stephanie, has 1 son - Asher. They're still in Ft. Myers and are trying to get her ex "Super Dad" to agree to let Asher come out here to live. They lived with us for almost 8 years, on and off (more on) and permanently lived with us for the last 2 years we were in Florida. He wants to be Super Dad now that Asher is 9 and self-sufficient. We could have made a case and would have probably won, but it wasn't worth it. Things will work out as they're ready.

Stephanie had finally gotten a great work-from-home job and had the financial means to get her own condo and the two of them to live in. They're very happy to be on their own.

There's my family tree. LOL

Yes, Ava's house has "character". We all laugh about it and how hers was an experiment. Our houses are "pole houses" - they have cement "pads" and the poles are WAY down in the ground, to resist any possible tornadoes that might come our way. We did a lot of research and these are what we decided on. They're framed in just like a normal house other than that. If you're on Pinterest, there are so many "Pole House" boards. Some of them are huge and very fancy!

That's so cool that your sister might have gotten a Hemmingway cat! They still inhabit his house in the Florida Keys and are quite an attraction. Our oldest daughter looked into getting one and they're quite expensive. They got a "Rag Doll Cat" instead. He's the cat in my layout in our gallery here, not sure if you've seen it. They're very laid back. I'd never heard of a Rag Doll Cat before.
