yay!! Social Security Day! Its always a good day in my house so i can pay my bills and make my checkbook reset itself to zero! That's so cool, getting to start over like that each month, right? No?? That's not a good thing? Oh. Bummer.........

:D

i drank way too much coffee yesterday and I ended up like Sally on a Monday. By 4 pm, I am vacuuming out my car, cleaning the windshield, organizing my shopping bags in the trunk... gary looks at me as if I have lost my mind. Perhaps i had. :boom:

Today is dr's appt #3 of 5 this week. This one is local/follow-up so it should be a fast one. *fingers crossed*

WWW:
i wish the weather could stay ike it was yesterday- it was so nice!
Always wishing for a million dollars.
And i want all of my O-fam to have a great Wednesday!!

Morning Chris- Best of luck with dr appt. I need to have a coffee/Sally day tomorrow. It is going to be rainy here all day today. I have worn all my bright and perky shirts already- wonder what I can find to cheer me up today. The beauty is- no windows = can't see the dreary weather- except even without windows you can feel it- strange. I am off to finish clearing the other half of my kitchen table- baby steps- then work!

Laurie- Your tip is so true. And it goes both ways for me. When my house is a mess, my mind is a mess as well. I hope that you were able to take a breath, get some stuff off your to-do list and not be so overwhelmed. hang in there and hugs!

Frani- LOVE your quote!!! I might have to use that in a LO at some point.
I like Fall/Halloween decorating too.

So,how did we getLyme... I'll try to give you the condensed version if I can. ;) In 2003 gary started get sick, weird symtpoms. Went to several drs, had some mental issues and was diagnosed w/ Bipolar II. I never bought that, and kept researching online. Finally found info on Lyme, that wasn't just about Stage 1 Lyme (rash, joint pain). Late Stage Lyme affects the entire body and once it settles in the brain it can cause bipolar-like symptoms. It took us another year or so to find a Lyme Literate MD. (LLMD) who would/could treat him.

That is when we learned that it can be passed sexually and congenitally, so we had me tested (positive) and then the kids (positive). That was in 2008 and it has been a long struggle since then. Caitlyn was actually in remission for about a year, and off all meds, when she got sick again early this past year. Scott was much sicker, and is being very slowly weaned off of meds now. At this point in time his llmd feels he has about an 85% of being cleared of the diseases, so we are getting there. I have been off abx for 3 months and I see my llmd tomorrow to see what the next step is.

Gary... he has most likely had this for 30+ years and the damage it has done to his body is mostly likely not going to get much better. Thats hard for all of us, but we hope that someday, they'll have better tests/treatment options etc.

The bitch of all of this-- even when we are 100% well (if there is such a thing, the jury is still out) , all it would take is one tick bite and we could have to start all over again.

Ok then..... that was't so quick at all was it???

Should anyone want to read up more about Lyme, you can check my blog- I have a few articles posted there, I share a lot on my FB page and I always recommend watching the movie Under Our Skin- its streaming on Netflix if you have that.
There is a LOT if political/economic bullshit (pardon!) that goes along w/ Lyme and I have my tinfoil hat theories, so its hard, very hard, to get to the truth of it all. But if anyone ever tells you that Lyme is easily detected and treated-- do NOT believe them.

Gotta getmy kids to the bus- be back for personals later.

xoxo!!

Morning peeps!

Today is a busy day with a lot of house catchup, the garden can just wait, and packing. Yes, that's what I said. Tomorrow we are going to Nawlins' for almost a week. (New Orleans for those of you who don't speak Louisiana talk). I said we travel a lot. This trip wasn't my choice but hey, I shouldn't bitch and be one.

I started Jana Morton's Blending class over at Get It Scrapped and she's blowing me out of the water! My computer did crash when I was A. trying to download the 1 hr video, B. watch the video in the website version and C. scrap along in PSE. I got the black message -Shut off your computer and restart - which I had never seen before. It happened twice but I was either trying to do the same three things...foolishly...or some combo of the same. Dick made me an appnt at the Apple store for this am, but I just don't want to take time today. I'm seriously thinking it was user error of trying to do to much, but ya never know, do you.

Anyhow, laundry is in the machine, the suitcases are ready, and I wish it were seriously fall so I could put the frickin' summer clothes away.

That's it for me!

Chris - Thanks so much for explaining how a whole family gets Lyme. I truly had never known about the transmission part. That does suck but godwilling, there will be better treatments in time. Yep, time sure is a four letter word is time when you're waiting for a healthier life. Hugs to you Chris.

Laurie - Loved the dance video and hope you can mentally dance round that windowless room today.

Good Morning All, feel a bit tired today, although I fell asleep early.

Chris - thanks for sharing your story...off to read your blog.....goodluck with you doctor visit.

'morning, everyone. Chris. what a tale you told up above. Lyme Disease hell. what ever happened to "the old days," when you could get bitten by a tick or mosquito and not have your life get ruined or end?? i often think of that. i was covered by mosquito bites as a kid, and it was nothing. but now?? exotic disease begins. bless you ad your family. this can't be remotely easy.

Maureen, bummer re: the computer. but nothing New Orleans can't cure!

Laurie, Lands End has a nice hot pink fleece pullover that brightens up days like this! it's pretty crappy where i am, too. these are the sorts of days (rain and in the low 60s) when i can never get WARM! :rain:

Frani, don't you hate it when you SHOULD feel wide awake and rested...and you DON'T?? that's kind of ME every day.

off to put some polyurethane on my kitchen window. i hope this is the end of that job. i'm totally sick of it. then i think i'm going to THE MALL. for NO reason. just to get out of the house and forget.

have a good one, ladies.

Phylis - Hope you find something fabulous at the mall!! Boo to the rain at your house too!!

Kiliki- Ouch you make me all sore just reading about all that work you have been doing!! Bet you are all buff and in shape for it though!! Take some liquid advil extra strength, maybe that will help a bit. Or a nice hot :bathbaby: might do the trick.

Hope you all have a fabulous day!!

Trudy, my husband loves his work too. As a consultant, it's have laptop, can travel as long at there's wifi! He's worked on cruises too mid Atlantic!

Maureen... lucky you!!! My husband is with Royal Canadian Mounted Police, he works on the homicide unit so his work is right here, darn it! But we try to get away at least once a year, he needs the getaway time to come back to normal living! Hoping he will soon retire, but he wants to put in at least one more year, then work part time.

Ugh, I never came back to do dailies yesterday, and I'm too busy to do much of a fly-by today. Well, busy, but also stressed out. The girls are both seemingly feeling the effects of the deployment, plus I there have just been a million little things. Like for instance, while updating my iPad's operating system, something went haywire and now I have to restore EVERYTHING. GRRR! Also, I think my hormones are not QUITE back to normal, since I'm still nursing Wally. I've been having periodic outbursts of what feels like PMS, but at random times.

Oooo Clara if you read this, remember my chocolate tomorrow! Maybe I'll text you also.

I just wanted y'all to know I'm not disappearing again. :-)
Huggles huggles huggles!

LOL Trudy, if he were working on a cruise ship or other vacation site, I'd be happy to avoid that particular place - during that time! People do die on cruise ships but fortunately, I've never been on one where there's been a murder - that I knew of! I'm glad you 'guide' him into taking that break and help him realize that there's another kind of normal.
