What does it feel like this has been the longest week ever and it has only been one day of school so far? Why?? Why?????

It could be that both kids have horrible colds and Cait is staying home today. Her cough is sounding nasty and if it doesn't get better I am going to need to bring her to the dr- hope it is not turning into bronchitis. How ironic would it be that I am doing the happy dance that she is off of abx for Lyme only to be put back on for that? :faint:


I am off to go food shopping in the pouring rain, blergh!!!! But I think I am making home made soup for my pookie and maybe even an apple pie for Gary.

I want to be the one-zillionth customer at Shop Rite and win a free year of groceries!
I want my babies to feel better. And I want my babies to realize that they are always my babies even if they are 14 and 16 as I was *reminded* yesterday LOL

Yay, yay, yay for Cait and Scott. What incredible news that everyone is doing better! Now it's definitely Gary's turn.

Soup sounds so good Chris. I think that I am going to get something into the crockpot before I leave the house this morning. And I am almost giddy with excitement because when we get home tonight, we have NO activities!!! Just eat supper and do homework and RELAX!!!

Update on the plumber--said he would come by late yesterday. Well, I am still waiting. I hate this stuff........still determined to not get stressed over it.

Chris, boy does soup sound good! i think i'm making tacos and burritos tonight. i have a ripe avocado i need to use, so...guacamole!! i DID make it to the Stamping store, and it WAS still there. i'm not doing stamping. (although i DID have a pang of nostalgia, surrounded by all that gorgeous paper and stamps and bling and other junk....) they have blank cards and envelopes in lots of party colors there, so i picked up some bright yellow ones and some bright blue ones. i have to make two prototypes of the BD party invite i'm putting together for my aunt's 80th. i'm going to take them over for her to see on Saturday, so she can make change suggestions and pick the colors she wants. then i'll put together the final product and mail them out for her.

a long morning today, since i got up so bleeping early. i feel like it should be noon. so far i've done the SALE post for Anna in the Forum, started on a page, put in some laundry, and positioned humidifiers strategically around me. i can feel my brain drying up, now that the furnace is coming on. we HAVE a whole house humidifier, and the humidity is over 50% in here, but the furnace comes on and my nose is The Sahara. crossing fingers that the nosebleeds don't reappear. :faint: i've got my MINT wiping down the floors in my kitchen and dining room as i sit here. i am becoming FOND of this wee thing. it's nice to have such clean floors! MINT. computer. radio. washing machine. i am totally TOAST if the power ever goes off for good. (have you seen the new tv show "Revolution?" another show about how we descend into madness as a society in record time when the lights go out.)

it's looking cold and gray outside. i might just stay INSIDE all day. :becky:

Morning ladies... a full shift today and tomorrow, but then another long weekend for me! So I am all alone here in the house now, everyone has left me. I am not sad I am quite happy to have this time alone!! I slept like a log last night, no one snoring in my ear!! I love my man, but oh my some nights he brings the roof down!! :shocked: I am sorry that my son has gone back home, but we had a very nice visit and it was special to have the time alone with him. He sent me a txt from the airport to say thanks again and how much he loves us, as I watched him leave a piece of my heart went with him, he really is a special man and I wish he lived closer!! :sad:

Chris - uggh on shopping in the pouring rain!! Making soup, sounds like the perfect remedy for all those with colds in your household! I still love all the recipes that I got from you ladies when my jaw was giving me all that trouble! I think that Nana Linda's Pasta E Fagioli is my favourite one!!

LindaS - Hope that you have a wonderful day filled with b-day wishes and prezzies!!

Laurie - Dark here now too, I might have to look at getting one of those lights this year. Not bad here now, but when the rains start its going to be pretty gloomy here!

Phylis - I should check out our paper scrapping store and see if they have blank cards and such. I have always admired peoples home made cards and often thought "I can do that"! Let us see what you come with please!! How nice to have your little workers keeping your floors clean for you, what would we do without electricity??? I have a panic attack when ours goes out for a few hrs! :fear: Don't know what I would do if it went out for good!! Hope you have a day filled with creativeness!!

Terry - Why do we spend so much time waiting for repair men to come around?? He needs a kick in the pants!!! I'm with Phylis , don't let him get away with it!! :rant:

Just a quick post, little girl is home with a cold today (I am secretly happy to have her home just not the sick part, hee hee) so no computer time for me. I will be coloring and movie watching and singing Tangled songs and reading books all day!!! Be back later this evening!

Phylis, I've been up too early too, but my house is clean and I don't feel bad about taking the entire afternoon to deal with the dentist but I know I'm going to be soooooooooooooooooo tired tonight!

Update--plumber has been here. Cut the copper wiring off at the wall and put in a flexible hose which he says is much better for when I pull out the refrigerator to clean behind it. I thought I would laugh! He has to be kidding!! Who does that!! Well--maybe Chris does it. The water dispenser is working and spitting out water. To my surprise it was dispensing ice cold water right away. Now how did it do that? I'm not going to waste brain cells trying to figure it out. Now I am just waiting for ice cubes. Wonder if it will work. Stay tuned.

Phyllis--all of your gadgets sound cool. One day, I might get them. Right now I am lucky enough to have a cleaning lady. BUT--in retirement days---it will be me cleaning.


Tonight is golf night. I don't feel like golfing--rather scrap. But this is a standing date with hubby and right now I am kicking his $$$ in the tournament we play in.
