TGIF! no, TGIW!!! Here in NJ, all of the school kids are saying TGIW! We have out Teachers" Convention this week, so no school on Thuirs or Friday. Thus- Wed becomes friday.
I feel so bad for the teachers this month. We had 2 days of school last week. Three days this week. A full 5 days next week, then 3 1/2 days the following week. Then a couple of days back and then we are into December.

:boom:

yes, I just imploded.
I am sending in my contract for a craft fair today that is on December 3. WTH am I thinking?? LOL
Actually, I got a small order for body wash the other day, so when I was pulling stuff out of my supply cabinet, I saw how much stuff I have made already. If I don't get rid of some of it, my supply closet is going to fall down around me. That will be a big, smelly mess.

For those that don't know, I am an aromatherapist and I made bath/body/pet products. My closet it filled with essential oils and fragrance oils- thus making a very smelly mess ;)

We are getting ready to go up to my mom's for a couple of days while we have no school. bringing the kids, dog, and rabbit again. And MMG....although I am hoping he will be able to stick it out, since he has been feeling yucky (yeah, what else is new??)
Busy day here- baking cookies for my dad's b-day, paying bills (yay Social security day!), cleaning here, laundry, cleaning for a client, packing..... :faint:

WWW:
I wish I had a magic want to do all of that stuff for me!

xoxo

(Catzilla is sleeping next to me so hopefully I can actually type)

Deb- That class sounds really awesome. No $$ for that but who knows, some day I might LOL
Did you survive your dinner? Poor mawmaw. I hope that the Old Bat kept her mouth shut.

Phyllis  I'd love to say "poor laptop" but it sounds liek it is goign to get what it deserves. You could always send it to me. I have a computer graveyard in my attic. Bits and pieces of computers, monitors, scanners (yes, a 6" hand scanner from the last millennium), motherboards, cables and so on. It would feel right at home. ;)

Fran- I always vote by mail too, makes life so much easier, and no excuses for not voting. It amazes me how few people do vote. IIRC there are some countries where it is illegal to not vote.
If your mojo is still gone-- get back into the gallery and scraplift, that is what i do :)

Maureen- I'll keep my ears open for that podcast. Thx!
Voting in Sept? Is that a MD thing?

Deb- mawmaw sounds like a very special person. Deep breaths when things get rough.

Donna- we have had 9 days of no rain, I guess after 19" of snow, ,there isn't any water left in the air hahahah!!
I love the anna Lift challenges, I am thrilled that you do them every week too :)

Sally-- awesome idea for you Christmas pics!! Give YMG a hug from me. I miss you guys.

trudy-- hey there, hope you survived Walmart. i hate going there too, but a Tuesday is MUCH better than a Saturday, eh?
*fingers and toes that YMG can retire, that would be so nice (for him. What about you? LOL)

gotta fly!!!!

love youall!

Good morning!

Chris you sound very busy and hope things slow down a bit. My two kids are grown, but your email brought back all those memories of lots to do when they were younger.........amazing what we accomplish some days isn't it!! I hope the Craft Fair is very successful!!

Looks like a nice Fall day here. Off to exercise this morning with some friends.........hardly feels like exercise when we are laughing and chatting the entire time......that's the trick to exercising I guess!!

Have a great Wednesday!

No big plans for today here - I should get some CT work done, but I have NO NO NOOOO inspiration. I think I'll just make me a bucket of coffee and spend the day in the library finish reading my book Fools Rush In Got it as a free e-book a long while ago, but now I'm finally reading it. Kinda whimsical and funny. I want to finish it fast cuz I got Heaven Is For Real in the mail yesterday, and I've been longing to read that one!

Oh - look - the ebook is still available for free if you are interested: Fools Rush In e-book It's not a literary masterpiece, but it's funny. An easy read - great for some light entertainment. :)

Hi everyone,

I survived and everyone behaved - Mamaw was soundly asleep soon after we got home and as we were driving home she said "I'm so glad I didn't stay home - I would have missed a conversation with Anna and Tristan and that really good spaghetti" It will be a quiet day today she'll sleep alot and thats ok - I know she's just tired.

Chris - did you change the light on the background paper on your Autumn Magic - your paper is much brighter/darker than what mine looks like if the answer is yes .... do you know what kind of lightbulbs are going to go off in my head when I read your answer!

Is anyone else watching dancing with the stars? Who do you think will win?

Good morning you lovely ladies! Have I told you all how much I appreciate you being there, well I do.....I love getting up in the mornings and read wants going on in your lives. Mine is pretty boring most times with having to work and coming home tired and frustrated with my commute. Once the "economy" gets better and more jobs are available I really must find something closer to home!!!!!!

Well I got approved to take Friday off so I can get my mechanic to check out the car, I've really been stressing over it. Everyday now it takes several tries to get it to start, leaving work yesterday the same thing....so I'm holding my breath and hoping it holds together until then.

Chris - I used to do the craft shows when I was into folkart painting, I would cut out all my own stuff and paint it. Loved it, but with Michaels now selling stuff for a fraction of what I sold it for it was no longer worth it for me. Goodluck on getting all your stuff done and sold.

I've been browsing but still nothing.....I've downloaded the copycat challenge, nothing. I just keep getting blocked....hoping to get something going Friday when I'm home from work.

Donna - you really need to move closer to me so we can exercise and laugh together ;>) How fun to have a group of ladies you enjoy so much.

Eva - Hoping you find your mojo soon, I'm still looking for mine.

Trudy - Yep lost alot of weight this last year, about 80lbs to be exact have about 20 to 25 more I want to loose then thats it. I did it by changing my mindset about loosing weight. I decided that I wouldn't look at it as a "diet" but more of changing my lifestyle. Once I did that it wasn't hard at all.

I really loved all the good stuff you should eat anyway so it was just adapting my eating a bit to make the changes needed to loose it. I just made small changes....

Portion control - I allowed myself to eat "normal" food I just used portion control during my meals.
If I had a sandwich, no cheese, no mayo
No fries, substitued carrots instead.
McDonalds - always get the chicken ranch salad or one chicken wrap.
Eating out in general - resturants always give you these HUGE portions, so you aren't tempted ask for that carry out box up front and put half of your food in it to be eated for a meal the next day.
Afternoon break I always have a piece of fruit, it ties me over until dinner time.
Evening snack - DH and I split a bag of lightly buttered popcorn.
LOTS OF WATER.....
Anyway this is what worked for me....it came off slowly, but it came off. So eat what you want with moderation, it's something you can do to loose wieght and not feel like you are "dieting".

Frani, WOW!! i have about 40 pounds to lose and, because of all the Diabetes and other food restrictions (i control with diet) i have myself in a bad, POOR ME mindset about what i CAN eat, and eat too much Breyers Low Carb ice cream. i have to do SOMETHNG, and fast. i'm running out of life! i would always say, OK. when i'm in my 50s i'm going to get skinny, then the '50s passed and here i am....

Eva, wish i could convince myself to read books that are FUN. i'm always reading non-fiction that depresses me!

last nice day for a while (maybe until March. who knows, when youy live where i live!) in the 60s. tomorrow it will only get up into the 40s. sigh.

YAY!!! new carpet in the library today!! then we can put all the furniture that's scattered all over my house BACK into the room it belongs. my house looks like someone threw everything up in the air, then left.

have a great day, ladies!

Morning ladies..

Going to walk to the library in a bit to pick up that book about the two society ladies who headed west for adventure and husbands. Nothing daunted : the unexpected education of two society girls in the West. I've waited a couple of weeks for this one so I'll save it for my beach read.

Left a text for my former workmate who FB'd me that she's recuperating from her 2nd shoulder surgery. Last time it was her dominant left side so this time I hope it's easier since it's her right side. It's funny she FB'd because she is not the most computer savy person around. EXCELLENT mechanic and can do anything with her hands so she does a lot of the engine work on their boat because she is also short and tiny enough to crawl in. I hope to get a visit to her today.

Lovely fall weather here today so it's time to get out there and relish it. cy'all later.

You guys are sooo wonderful to meet up with in the morning!! :) I love sitting here with my coffee (yes, caffeine for sally!! eeeek!!) and breakfast and just read everything that is going on!! It's wonderful!!!

Chris, ohhh girl, today, you wore me out with your list!! The packing alone would do me in!! :) Hugs right back atcha!! miss you, too!! I am still waiting for you and your mil to pop down here for quilt festival (or market!!) some year!! :) (free room and board for sure!!) And praying that Gary is feeling great this weekend!!

Donna, have fun giggling and exercising!! Do a couple of reps for me, please!! :)

Eva, will have to check that free book out. I'm looking for something to read, but I may go more classics...I try to read a classic then a fluff book then a classic...etc. I just finished the second Steig Larsen book, so it's back to a classic for me. I just can't seem to pick one, though. Maybe Great Expectations or something like that. I dunno...Sigh...you have fun reading, hun!!

Debbie, so glad you and your Mawmaw had a good time last night! :) Enjoy that scrapping!!! :)

Frani, I'm losing weight that way, too! It's soooo much better to not deny myself what I want, but to count my calories (i'm using LoseIt.com to track!!) and keep it reasonable!! Slow, but sure!! :) I've kept 15 lbs off this way, too! while eating jelly beans! LOL!!! Thanks for sharing!!

Phylis, enjoy that last nice day!! (or come to Houston for the next few weeks and enjoy ours!! LOL!!) And ohhhh carpets...we hopefully will be putting flooring in our house in the next two weeks! I'm not looking forward to the house throwing up on me!!

Maureen, enjoy your visit and your book!!! Love reading about your adventurous life!! Ohhh and I have to tell you...I read a comment the other day that you had left on one of my LOs and it said that my daughter was wearing the same thing that I had on in my avi, and it was sort of true!!! LOL!! She borrows my scarves all the time, but we do have matching tank tops!! teeheee...it made me think of it two days ago when we inadvertently wore them at the same time again!! LOL! just cracked me up!! :)

Hi Laurie, Clara and Trudy (and anyone else I missed!!)!! You girlies have a wonderful day!!!

Well, I'm off to go shopping!! When Mr Gorgeous shops and buys something really big for himself, he gives me some play money to go and splurge on myself. yesterday I bought shoes and underwear...I must be getting old!!! LOL!! Today, Cora and I are going to Anthropologie so I can get inspired!! My fave store of all time for sure!! :) (can't really buy anything there because it's soooo expensive, but I can see how to style things! :) )

And then tonight is our first dress rehearsal of our Velveteen Rabbit production. I will have two rabbit costumes all done, the music all put together and dinner figured out...all before six pm!! I better go shopping to get over the stress!! LOL!!!

love you all!!!

Morning lovely ladies!! Had so much fun with the chat and scrap last nite!! I love all of you wonderful women!! Found out that Jacqueline lives about 45 mins from me... who knew??? Off to work for a short day, then one more short day on Thurs. and Friday off for the stat holiday - Remembrance Day. Hubby is marching in the Parade in Red Serge, makes me feel so proud of him when he wears it!!

Chris - Glad you are going in the craft fair, I hope you make oodles of money!! Hubby will retire from the force, but will have another job to go to at the same office with the municipality, so really not fully retiring but that's ok, cause I think he would drive me nuts if he were home all day long!! LOL.

Donna - Have fun with your walk with the girls, sounds like a good time! I walk alone with my music, but sometimes wish I had company!! It would get me out there more often! Now that the bears are out in full force and some sightings of cougars, I pretty much do my walking on the treadmill now.

Eva - Sounds like a great day with your books!! I will have to check out your link for the freebie!!

Debbie - Don't watch dancing with the stars, but I am so glad that things went well with your party and your Mamaw was glad that she went!!

Frani - Wow that's a great accomplishment!! I will take your great advice and I think that portion control is the key for me, I eat way too much for my age!! I know I don't need that much food, perhaps the heartburn would cease altogether if I controlled my eating habits a bit better. I eat very healthy!! I just eat too much!
Hope your car makes it to the shop!!

Phylis - Glad to hear that you can get your house back to normal, new carpet...how nice!!

Maureen - Hope you enjoy your walk to the library, I love the library!! Love the smell of old books and could just hang out there all day and browse all the wonderful titles!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday !! I gotta :bolt:

Back for a bit...want to get some stuff done, in addition to scrapping, today.

Chris - I do hope your sweet smells get organized and sold for you. :juggle:You have a lot on your plate today.Enjoy the time at your Mom's!

Donna - I sure wish I had an exercise buddy or two. I do have one woman who goes to the gym but not the times I do and she is a serious 45min on the elliptical. I go from walking to machine to walking etc etc

Eva, enjoy your reading time! the mojo will come back in its own good time.

Debbie - Glad that Mawmaw had a good time in the end. I guess you kept your mouth shut! bwhahaha I have never watched DWTS and that probably will never change. I think the only networks show I watch is "House".

Fran - I am so impressed. I have been good about watching portion control and unfortunately all that has done is kept my weight steady. Actually that is good but…I know if I hope to lose the weight I want to, I have to add exercise. That's my roadblock.

Phylis - I do hope you're not running out of life too soon, but I totally get what you mean. Life's too short to read books that depress you/me. I like something more than fluff but still, I never ever read anything before bed other than spiritual or uplifting in some way. Not ponderous but something good to let my brain percolate overnight. just sayin'. :amen:

Sally - It is fun to have a morning coffee(decaf tea here) with people here isn't it. I don't have any friends in walking distance so it always has to be a set up 'play date'. Have fun window shopping at Antrhro. I often take photos of their windows just to keep the amazing designs.

Kiliki - Cleaning is not something that brings great joy - until it's done!

Trudy - Not sure what Red Serge is other than red material. Bears? cougars? HOLY MOLY !!!!!! :attention:Stay inside girlfriend!

Eva, wish i could convince myself to read books that are FUN. i'm always reading non-fiction that depresses me!

I'm totally opposite this - I avoid everything that has to do with depressing stuff. Totally avoid anything concerning WW2 - too depressing. Also those books about kids growing up in terrible situations. I want to be entertained and happy :)

Having said that - I love true crime .... if anyone can explain that, please do :-D

RSVP-ing before I forget ;)

I used 2 papers and blended them, one was a dark grey from backpackers, and I put a brown one on top and changed the blending mode. Sorry I can't be more specific!

Debbie, when Chris says she can't be more specific, I wonder if she's like me and seriously can't remember WHAT she did! Even if I go back to my psd file, and look at the mode and opacity of something, it still doesn't have everything. It's ART not a Science! 8)

Just when I started to get active on this board life got in the way. I have been stopping in and lurking though. I'm just now recovering from my second foot surgery. Hoping to get stitches out tomorrow.

What have I been up to the last month to six weeks? Work. Sick. Surgery. Work. Sounds boring-it is. I haven't really scrapped either. I have been doing one LO a week for Jana's blending class. That's the extent of my scrapping lately.

This is my busiest time of the year at work. To make matters worse I'm having to travel a bunch for the next six weeks.

To make myself feel better I'm thinking of buying myself a new laptop. But I'm technologically impaired and haven't figured out how I would get all my "stuff" over to the new one--- mainly bridge and all my tags, digi supplies, and photos. So-I keep putting it off. Wish I had an Apple store nearby-I'd pay them to fix it up for me

I'll try and stop in more often so I can get to know all of you.
