Hey there all of the O-zies! How are all of you doing today? I have a tiny spring in my step with good news post-election night. There was a lot of positive movement against some of DT's anti(immigrant/LGBTQ/healthcare/etc) policies. That gives me hope that the Republicans will see him as the albatross to democracy that he is. This country needs to have different parties working together to make our More Perfect Union and we sure don't have that now.

Yesterday was another "day." Such a mixture of good and crummy. Gary's endocrinologist appt went well. I was shocked. He hates Drs and I thought for sure that he would come back cranky. He had seen this Dr years ago when he first went on the insulin pump (20 years!!! Scott was 1! :faint:) and then for a few years after. He is going to see if Medicare will cover the new pump and blood meter that work together, I think it is called Continuous Monitoring. He is also putting Gary on a "regular" insulin, not the super expensive stuff that costs $400/month that he is on now.

Muffin's surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday. The vet aspirated the lump to see if it was just a fatty lump but it isn't. The vet and tech who did Clover's surgery will be doing Muffin's so we know that she will be in very good hands. In fact, 2 of the techs told Caitlyn to make sure that she scheduled it on a Tuesday since they will be in and they love the rats. I feel very bad for Cait. The average lifespan of rats is between 2-3 years and her girls are 1.5. She is starting to feel the clock ticking for them. I did that with Harley and I really regret that- feeling like it was the "last Halloween," the "last Christmas." I mean you never know- they really can live to 3 and she takes such good care of them so I hope that she will have much more time with them.

I made one small batch of soap yesterday. It is simple hemp oil melt and pour base but I wanted to come up with a nice EO blend for it. I made Woodsy Citrus combination with Bergamot/Lemon/Grapefruit/Cedarwood/Fir. Smells great! Today I am going to work on a few more things since I have nowhere that I need to be. I just need to my back and hip to stop hurting so much so I can be on my feet.

I feel like so much more went on yesterday, but darned if I can remember any of it LOL

Hope that all of you have a fantastic day! ::grouphug

Hi Felis- That was our weather here yesterday too, very cloudy, chilly, and damp- gets into your bones. I miss my little wood stove, it is the one thing that I hate about having the addition put on our house. We had to have that taken out to put a staircase in to get to the second level.
I wish you lived in the US, I would mail you those books but I think it would cost way more than the books are worth to ship to you. :)
Thank you so much for sharing your country's history!! I really appreciate it. I think Americans, generally speaking, have a limited view of history since ours doesn't go back that far. Really, only the 16/17th Centuries if we don't count the Indigenous Peoples which sadly happens all too often. I have to admit that I don't think I ever heard about the Bulgarian Empires. Byzantine and Ottoman of course, but not Bulgarian.

Nancy- Cait and I were talking about how much we hate the cold and snow but at least J likes to play in the snow. We wonder if W will too. We are betting yes because she mimics every darn thing that J does. It is really funny to watch that BTW. Harley, Ray, and Jaida all had a lot of years difference as well as very different personalities. But J and W-- two peas in a pod. Yikes!
Hope that your DS feels better and keeps his germs away from you LOL
How was the game?

Trudy- Is it going to warm up enough for you and SIL to go on the hike today? I hope that you had a relaxing time being creative yesterday between scrapping and painting. I think that we have gotten through to Gary about making the dog treat shelves. One of our neighbor's across the street passed away in the Spring, Her husband had passed well before we moved in. The daughter has been trying to clean out the house and had been telling Gary to take as much as he wants so it will cost her less to have it removed. he saw that there was a ton of wood so next time she comes over, he will take some of it. he has been so happy that he was able to get drill bits, a chop saw (that makes me nervous since that is the kind of saw that my BIL cut his finger off on. It was successfully reattached. But still, yikes!), a couple of ladders and lots of little things to clutter up the basement. :p

Oh no-- preschool germs are the worst, no matter what you do, you can't avoid it. It stinks that Mason brings it home to Hunter too. Sending good thoughts to them that they get better soon!

Rae- you are just :car: everywhere. Did you get all of your errands done so you were able to get your work done? I am sure that you did, you are so diligent. I would get distracted. Or maybe I would be so thrilled to have a job I would work my fingers to the nub? :ranger:
I was so mad-- W wanted to lie on top of Gary last night and I was cold. But she came over to me later on. How do those little bodies heat up? She doesn't even have fluffy fur like Taz...

Hugs and love!!

good morning - My poor Devils lost last night but Zach and I won. We were walking to the escalator to go to our seats and two security guards came over and asked if we were going to our seats. We said yes and wondered what we had done. LOL turns out he had two tickets to sec 4 row 4 and gave them to us. It was so cool. The seats were awesome and and we had no one in front of us. It was pouring rain on the way to the game and we had to walk to in the rain so to be able to be given such awesome seats was so fun. The first goal of the game by the Devils was right in front of us and then it was all Blues. I had fun taking photos though. This is the first time my Devils looked like a really young team. I voted so that was good and the country seems to be making progress and I wish that the Congress could see that what they are doing is not what we want. But this is progress. Our next game is Thursday so I hope they figure out how to win again. My DH left late and then Luther did not want to walk as he wanted to follow the scent to my DH and then came back home. LOL. Crazy. But I have to go to the vet to get him his month heart and flea and tick meds so I will take him around the park there. That will make him happy. My son went back to work and is feeling much better. Going out to dinner with my girlfriend. Not much else going on.

Chris good to the elections show positive results. Hope the surgery goes well for the rat. The seems like such a short live span. I would have thought rats were more in the range of 5 years. I bet with her care they last longer. Glad the doctor visit for Gary turned out so well. Have fun making products.

Trudy hope you have good weather for your hike. And how fun to be making the nativity set again. Have fun creating.

Rae hope your busy busy day went well.

Felis thanks for the history lesson. Our schools rarely teach European history which is sad. I did not take this until college and it still focused on England and France. It amazed me on my trip to France that while Europe was building cathedrals the inhabitants of North America were still nomadic.

Jean hope you are surviving this first bought of cold winter weather.

Have a great day all.

Morning ladies... well no hike today, it got cancelled last night as the roads to the hike have too much snow and it is far to difficult to get to even in a four wheel drive. oh well we will do it another time. So I suppose I have a whole day to do what ever. I need to go to the grocery story to grab a few things, but other than that not much on my plate. Yesterday I got the sanding done on a few more pieces for my nativity, started working on my April Calendar page, but oh my gosh I am having a hard time with this one. Needless to say I never got any other scrapping done either :gaah: why am I having such a hard time with my scrapping lately? One a happier note, I got two gifts bought for Christmas and they were delivered yesterday, so I hope to get those wrapped and ready today.

Chris - I had a day like yours yesterday, I know I did so much more than what I have written here, but I don't know what it was LOL. How great that Gary is starting to feel like he will help you out with your craft project! Yes any kind of saw scares the heck out of me LOL. Never used to, and I have never almost lost a finger or anything, so not sure what that is all about. He will be happy to have all that lovely man clutter in the basement! LOL Nice to hear that you were happy with the way the voting went yesterday! How great! Poor little Muffin having to have surgery, hope it goes well and that Cait will not obsess over the life span of her rats, the circle of life is sometimes hard to accept!

Nancy - Sorry your Devils lost last night, but what a great score on the tickets for the seats!! You must have gotten some great photos with no one sitting in front of you and being so close to the action! Have a nice walk with Luther in the park today and happy to hear that your son is feeling better and back to work. I am sure you will be scrapping some more great hockey pages today! Send me some of your mojo PLEASE!!!

:hello: to everyone else this morning I will pop in later on to catch up with you all!

Good morning, ladies. I actually feel like I have my head above water today LOL. I was able to finish up all my work yesterday, we went to our accountant and got some financial stuff dealt with. Then we came home, had breakfast for dinner (love doing that) and got into my comfy jammies to watch some shows.

Got Taz off to daycare this morning and laundry started. I am so comfy today in my patterned tights and long turtleneck sweater with my ugg-like slipper boots. I'm popping over to the drugstore as today I have a 20x points reward so its a good time to stock up on a few items. Got chicken defrosting for riced cauli and peppers for dinner. The best thing is that my workload should be lightened a bit for the rest of the week. Whew. I need that. Monday is a holiday so I'm looking forward to some extra relaxation time with my book, scrapping and puttering around.

Chris - I agree, such a short lifespan for the rats. I didn't know it was so short. I love hearing about your dogs, how they interact together. I can just picture Taz joining them and bouncing off them all, enticing them to run with him LOL. The woodsy citrus blend sounds heavenly. I have been using the lavender soap you recommended and love it. I really love having it in the foaming hand soap dispenser too for the kitchen.

Nancy - that is awesome about getting the good seats at the game! Makes up for having to walk thru the rain to get there :)

Trudy - too bad your hike was cancelled but now you have lots of "me" time to putter around and work on your projects. I've started thinking of Xmas now too. I won't be buying anything until Black Friday shopping at the end of the month but I need to start thinking of something great for D. Jen and I want to go in a big gift for him but I just cannot figure out what. I'm not very knowledgeable about tools so hope I can figure out something he doesn't have in his shop.

Felis, Jean, anyone else....hope all is well.

I'm grabbing another coffee, will get to work for a few hours and then pop out for a bit of shopping. Hope you all have a great day.

I just fast jump in to say you hi! I hope you all are good! Today is the Name day of my sister and father and we are in festive mood !
At the afternoon my sister and dad had two separate meetings with friends, then they made one combined party for the family. My sister bring Baileys, and even I try it, and I never drink alcohol, but this is Original Irish Cream and also cost the amount of the gift I gave to her, so absurdly ridiculous that I have to try it! And it's not bad, even is tasty. Was a fun day! And the rain make the guests to stays even a little longer than is normal. :biggrin1:

Thank you so much, Chris, you are so kind to offer me this book, but no thanks! You are absolutely right the shipping will cost higher than the book price (double than the ebook variant) and I really can got in on very good sale, because we regularly visits these special book sales days. Also I'm very slowly reader on English, so prefer to do it only for poetry. But was so sweet gesture, thank you! It's a worried about the Muffin's surgery, strongly hope all to be fine, and I'm sure that the good cares of Cait helps much! Good for Gary's doctor visit! And for you that are found time to work on yours products!

Nancy, I feels like you yesterday about the winter. I also told myself that is time to get my gloves out. This for the better seats on the game is so cool, even in rain, you are lucky girl, I know that! Good that your son is feeling better! Hope you get good walk with Luther at the park! We skipped our because of the rain :( .

Trudy, so bad about the hike today, sorry! But so good about the Christmas presents, I'm started to prepare mine too! Hope you soon will find again your scraping mojo, because the Calendar page which I already saw are so pretty! Oh, I can understand you about your school dreams for Archaeologist career. My middle school history teacher was part from the summer archaeologist group and she was so excited about that. The conservation of antique village is very intrigued, and all theories and questions. Trakinas are been very skillful and even she was work only on walls and never found jewellery, it's still very cool! Unfortunately the government doesn't give enough money for good conservation of these places, so many scientist was been disappointed and left their projects, till better times. It's better these antique villages to left buried, as to be opened and then with no conservation to be destroyed.

Rae, for me you are the queen of the shopping! WOW, you have points reward even for a drugstore?! Go, girl! Hope you find something nice at the VV yesterday. Good to hear, that your schedule will be a little a bit easier for the rest of the week.

Jean, I hope you are all right and are busy with something fun! The last that you tell at Monday was for a storms, so I start to worry.
