The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
TGIF to us in NJ with kids in public schools :D It is Teacher's Convention week so the schools are closed Thurs and Fri. So today is a Wednesday and a Friday for the kids. I don't have to work tomorrow but I do on Friday so I get a bit of a break.

Lord knows I need one after yesterday! I cleaned for my client-- 3 hours. Then raked leaves for another hour, then walked with my friend, 40 mins. Lots of time on my feet. But it wasn't horribly cold so I would rather work on the leaves now then later.
Today I get to go food shopping. UGH!!!!I made homemade pizzas last night-- a creamed spinach one and fresh tomatoes and garlic for the other.Home made chicken and leek pot pie since Scott will be at his girlfriend's tonight and the rest of us can eat meat. ;)

Guess that is about it for me.
Hope that everyone has a wonderful day!

My WWW:
I wish that Gary would get better. Not worse.
I wish that food and meds were not so expensive.
I wish that I lived somewhere warm and sunny year round.
I want to scrap a fun page today.
I want everyone to be happy!!!!!

hahahahah Phyllis-- so glad I gave you a laugh yesterday! I am glad that I am not the only one who cleans and cleans and sees no difference. It sounds so counter-intuitive, but the houses that I get the most pleasure cleaning ( if that is possible ha!) are the one's that are the messiest. yesterday was the house with the three little kids and there is always stuff everywhere. It feels great to walk out and really see that I did a good job. The house I will be cleaning on Friday doesn't look any different when I leave, so while it is "easier" to clean, it is not as satisfying.
I know. I am weird.
Hope that your finger feels better.
I hear you on the abx (didn't watch the video, YouTube messes up my computer) but with all of the abx we have to take it really does worry me.

Laurie yay for water again!!!!!!!!! I voted by mail for both of our elections. I love having that option. But I was looking at the breakdowns of the NJ elections and we sure had a very odd/interesting/confusing mix of results. I am a political junkie so yes, I read through all of the results. Unfortunately, I don't have much hope for the new people on town's council, but maybe it will be better now. *hopeful*

Anne- welcome welcome! So happy to have another "blabber-er" here! You are a scrapping fiend! I have *got* get rolling on my books/pages that I am giving as gifts. I really really have to. Can you send some of your scrap mojo my way?

Clara- omg- I never responded to your email. I have been so bad with stuff like that. I read things really quick, then have to do something else thinking Oh Yeah, I'll get back to that, and then poof, it is out of my head.
Good luck today. My advice is to bring a notebook. Take notes. Get everything down on paper. Document everything. And Yes-- go for the IEP. In case you weren't sure about how I felt about that. :pound:
Let me know how it goes!!

Hi Nancy! Cleaning, vacuuming, raking leaves-- it is all futile!! LOL
I saw your page with wordle-- I love that program and your page looks awesome!!!

Trudy- so sorry that I couldn't find the recipe online. And yay for not losing your post! Hope you slept better too.

Andrea- hope that you feel better today. I live with brain fog every day and I know how annoying that is!

love and hugs (still not for any old creepy men!)

Morning O fam & Chris! Just finished a fast workout. Busy day today- soon I should actually pay attention to my productivity, however. I cannot control if my kiddos who rely on their parents come the therapy and I can't throw a new kiddo in as it messes with families schedules. I asked for a bus to drive to the kids houses and treat them on the bus- my boss didn't laugh, but I doubt she took me seriously. I wish it were Thursday- no appointments to drag me away from home!!

Thank you Chris for your welcome! I am loving the oh so much! This morning O is a great way to begin...
WWW
laughter today sounds wonderful
and scraping about it should be on the list also
Laurie-you could add another verse to the Wheels on the Bus! :)
my newly flown son came yesterday to replace my kitchen fan for me. It was so great to sit and babble with him. He stayed for dinner, and oh the other kids were so happy to have him with us. It was a grand night, this momma needed all her chicks in one area. lol

good morning I voted yesterday and that always makes me feel good. I feel you can't complain about the government if you did not vote. Got in a good walk 2x as I am lucky and I can just walk to my polling place and then walked with my girlfriend. Today is supposed to be warmer but more clouds so can get in another good walk. Spent time working on decuttering and backing up my photos. Tonight going out for coffee with my girlfriends so that will be fun!

Chris this is a strange school week for kids, Tuesday off for elections and Thursday and Friday school holidays. But I guess everyone could use a break. Enjoy the break!

Laurie a bus sounds like fun! Congrats on the exercise!

Annie so glad your son fixed your fan and stayed for dinner and a visit! It is special to have them come back.

Phylis I totally agree that too much abx is bad but still for your finger you have to do it. Hope it is feeling better now!

Trudy hope you slept better last night. Must feel good though to be getting your calendar done!

Have a great day all!

Morning! Let's see if I can cover my Wednesday Wishes here (trust me you don't want all of them)

-- I wish that Jacob would never be sick again
-- I wish they had a cure for PNH so that my life would be simpler
-- I wish I could go on a long sunny vacation BY MYSELF for several days just to unwind and clear my mind
-- I wish chocolate had no calories! :D

Chris, i SOOOOO wish you lived nearby so i could hire you. i am really losing the ability to get my house as clean as i WANT it to be. i've been cleaning for 2 days and while everything is "clean," it doesn't look great to me. maybe it's just that my HOUSE is crappy!! :mmph:

Andrea,
I wish they had a cure for PNH so that my life would be simpler
i wish there'd be a cure, too. {{hugs}} life's hard enough without these "extras" that get thrown our way.

Trudy, you jinxed me!! i had a crappy night's sleep last night, and just gave up totally at around 4. did you get a nap in yesterday? how'd last night go? maybe we should start up Nana Linda's "Up in the Middle of the Night" thread again!!

Nancy, i'm all FOR antibiotics. it's just that i fear what will happen when we run out of ones that work. the link is to a show that isn't about antibiotics, but a fictional account about what happens after a global pandemic. like i said: watch it only if you're feeling strong. and right you are about voting! there are too few people who DO vote!

Laurie, there's a gymnasium around here that has a "GYMbus" that they take around to kids parties, schools, etc. sounds like that's what you need!

Clara, good luck with the teachers. when they're good, they're very good. but when they're bad, anything can happen. was it Chris that said "take notes?" ALWAYS a good idea. and hopefully you made a list of questions to take with you. good good luck!

Anne, so beautiful to see a family that loves to be together! and SO great to have a kiddo who knows how to install a kitchen fan!

today, no car again. so it's been housecleaning since about 5 a.m. then a friend is coming over to shoot the breeze for a bit, which will be a nice break. i'm cooking an eggplant in the oven right now, which doesn't smell very good, as a rule, so i can make some baba ganouj for part of dinner tonight. other than that, nothing much going on here.

enjoy the day! :becky:

Morning O-zies, we are in for a major downpour of :rain: this morning and pretty much the whole day. :mmph: Spotted some :smow: on the far mountain tops this morning, hopefully that is where it will stay!!

Chris - Glad you are getting a bit of break this week! Enjoy your chicken and leek pot pie today!!! Yummmm and hooray for meat!! :becky: I don't think I could ever be a vegetarian, I loves me some nice lean meat!!!! Oh that reminds me I have a great recipe for you to try for your son, my cousin is a vegetarian and her hubby is a vegan so she is always posting great salad recipes so here you go....

Crunch Cashew Thai Quinoa Salad

Ingredients ¾ cup uncooked quinoa 1-2 cups shredded red cabbage, depending on how much crunch you like 1 red bell pepper, diced ½ red onion, diced 1 cup shredded carrots ½ cup chopped cilantro ¼ cup diced green onions ½ cup cashew halves or peanuts (honey-roasted is good) Optional: 1 cup edamame or chickpeas Fresh lime, for a bit of tang For the dressing: ¼ cup all natural peanut butter 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger 3 tablespoon soy sauce, gluten-free if desired 1 tablespoon honey (use agave if vegan) 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar 1 teaspoon sesame oil 1 teaspoon olive oil Water to thin, if necessary Instructions To cook quinoa: Rinse with cold water in mesh strainer. In a saucepan, bring 1 ½ cups of water to a boil. Add in quinoa and bring mixture to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 minutes or until quinoa has absorbed all of the water. Remove from heat and fluff quinoa with fork; place in large bowl and set aside to cool for about 10 minutes. You should have a little over 2 cups of quinoa. To make dressing: Add peanut butter and honey or agave to a medium microwave safe bowl; heat in microwave for 20 seconds. Add in ginger, soy sauce, vinegar, and both sesame and olive oil and stir until mixture is smooth and creamy. If you want a thinner dressing, simply stir in a teaspoon or two of water or olive oil. Add as much or as little dressing as you’d like to the quinoa. I always start out with a little bit of dressing and usually add more to suit my taste preferences. Alternatively you can save the dressing for later and add when you are ready to eat; however the flavors of the dressing usually soak into the salad so I love adding it to the quinoa first. Next fold in red pepper, onion, cabbage, carrots, and cilantro into the quinoa. Garnish with cashews and green onions. Serve chilled or at room temperature with lime wedges if desired.

Laurie - I think that therapy on the bus is a fabulous idea!! Wish they could have done that for my DD it sure would have saved us a lot of driving :becky:

Anne - How nice that you had a great visit with your son!! It is really great when they come home again and you can connect with them in that special way! I only get to see my son a couple times a year, but it is always very special and a whole lot of laughter and love!!

Nancy - You are right, you have no business complaining about the govt. if you never vote!! Something I have tried to tell my DD over and over again. She does not complain too much, but she has never voted either, such a disappointment !! Hopefully one day she will! Have a great time with the gals tonight!!

Andrea - My wish today is that they do find a cure for PNH and that your son is never sick again, along with finding a cure for Lyme's Disease for Chris and her family too!! It's not too much to ask for right????

Phylis - Where are you?? My noisy neighbours are back from their vacation and the peace and quiet is a thing of the past!!!! :frown:

Should get my butt out the door for my walk early this morning before the rains really start, it might never stop again until June LOL Have a great one everyone!!

That salad looks absolutely yummy but I fear I'm the only one in this house that would eat it! I would enjoy it though, haha!
