The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Today, I am grateful for coffee. And a coffee pot that brews so it is ready for me when I roll out of bed.
(See- this is Reason #98768 why I don't bother with the Daily Gratitude challenges. 99.99999 % of my entries would be about coffee. The remaining .000001% and .0000001% would be family and dogs. :rotfl:)

I did *not* want to get out of bed this morning. I mean, I rarely ever do, but this one was rough. I am exhausted. I cleaned and scrubbed from 8:00-2.00.
I even ironed the tablecloths. That's pretty darn huge for me because I don't ever use tablecloths-even though my mom is a tablecloth connoisseur. And I don't; ever iron either. Put the two together, and I swear the earth shook on its axis for a moment.
I am not totally done with the house. I tossed everything extraneous into my office, and that needs to get organized before I can throw more things in here tomorrow. I didn't clean my bathroom but no one should need it and I can do a quick wipe-down tomorrow morning.

This morning, I saw this on Sam's mom's FB page:

Well, dammit! I commented that it was too bad I didn't see this yesterday morning. It would have saved me a ton of time/energy. But then I said no worries, that all of the pawprints and fur will be back by the time she gets here tomorrow. :lol23:

Yesterday was cleaning, today is cooking and setting up. I don't have too much to do for cooking, just the stuffing(s) and maybe the frozen pies. The fake turkey and mashed potatoes will be tomorrow.

Did I get any time for scrapping? Nope! Maybe today!

Wishing all of you a wonderful day!

BTW: I am officially giving up on my Thankful/Autumn siggie. A few more days and I'll head right into Christmas/Winter :p

I love your Pine-Gnomes and Reindeer, Chris! What a great idea and they are cute and well made. I have those kinds of pine-cones ALL over my lawn, hmmmmmm....
Thanks for showing us! :beatingheart:
@faerywings
Thank you!!! The white pine cones seem to look nicer/fuller but the spruce cones are more plentiful. So that is what the majority of the cones I gathered are. If people really want to get fancy, the craft store cinnamon-scented cones could be fun. :D

So sorry J is going through so much trouble with her (?) knees! Poor pup!
Those pinecone gnomes are too cute, but I do like the reindeer, for sure!
Give thanks for the ILs money and don't think about how the BIL gets to spend his.....I'm thinking your "troubles" have made you stronger all the way around!! :hug4:
Yup, she is a girl. It doesn't seem to be painful for her so that is good. But this has been an issue for months, and I worry about the bacteria spreading... Her blood work came back fine, so she is good to go when the surgery is scheduled. No official word as of yet but when Gary spoke to the surgeon on Monday, he said it is a same-day surgery. The repair surgery was an overnight stay and then she had a few sessions of PT at the center.
Yes, I am eternally grateful for the help that my parents and my ILS, and my brother all give us. I have said for 20+ years that I would not be here, in one piece if not for them.
Hugs back!

Yes! 2 Thanksgiving dinners are going to be held here! It only started out as 1 because we thought the one for Sunday was going to be at Mark's daughter's house (trailer). And because it is on Sunday, we decided to have our own turkey here with Mark's stepson and "adopted" grandson (Noah). THEN we found out Mark's daughter and family are coming here! Let's just say, from now on I will talk to her first to get the real story of what is going on! ;). We could've gotten Mark's stepson to come on Sunday as well instead of having a separate meal! Oh well! It is what it is!
Blergh!!!
BTW- your cleaning schedule sounds the same as mine- I ran the oven clean cycle the other day (made the house smell like I was cooking something yummy LOL), cleaned out the fridge yesterday (garbage day). Still need more room though!
We got this!

I am here but not feeling on top of the world..
How are you doing today? Sending you some cozy blankets and chicken soup~~~~
At least you were able to get everything set up for the TV/Roku.
66*F is too cold for me
Me too!! :cold:

Oh Chris, :hug3: Those darn dogs. Good thing they're cute since they cause us so much angst at times. I'm sorry the hardware is causing problems. Hopefully this will be the end of issues when she is all done.
For real, good thing they are cute! When I first heard about having to remove the hardware, I thought that she would need to get new hardware in place. That surgery was $8,000. Her other knee was $6,000. Most expensive rescue dog in the world. Bwuhahahaha!
Oh yeah, I'll take my chilly but not frigid temps over yours!
I will admit, as much as I hate to say anything nice about snow, it is pretty when it is all sparkly. I can never get a decent photo of it.
I had to go meet some people out on the trail so I decided to walk, which was a very nice 4 miles round trip. But according to my fitness app, it's only worth 200 calories give or take. I mean, really, it's just not fair!
I don't buy that for one bit. I think that walk should have been at least 2000 calories. At LEAST!
See-- I can be helpful on occasion. Tee hee!
I hope that the Cracker Barrel T-Day experience is a wonderful one for all of you. That's so kind of the friend wanting the other one to be with friends.
Well yesterday more PT.. we are working on strengthening now and I am making great progress but 4 more sessions...I will be very happy to be done, its 2 hours out of my day. I can walk without the cane some so I am loving that.
Wow!! That is amazing news!!!
Happy Birthday to your DH!!!
The Mystery Kit sounds awesome for G-DS! That is something I would love to give if I had a grandson. My nephew wouldn't be into it, unfortunately. He is all sports all the time.
I just love your pinecone gnomes they are adorable.
TY!!!
I will be scrapping today (yay) as I have enough jewelry stock piled for the upcoming market and maybe even the last one the following wkend. Good timing b/c I was starting to feel burned out with all the hours I was putting in. Then I'll be done until the end of March...yay! A much needed break.
Good luck at the Dr and WTG on the lower BP. :highfive:
I hear ya on getting burned out, that was one main reason I stopped doing Faery-Wings stuff.

Chris @faerywings they are adorable! And the reindeer, who knew it could be so cute.
TY too!
It was funny, the branch was mixed in the pinecones I had collected by accident. But they looked like antlers, so I went with it. I'll have to look for some more of them before the event.
Good morning. That is what I started yesterday. And realized that it was as far as I got. Took Wavy to preschool, went to coffee with the pastor of a new church that I’m going to check out. Then spent the afternoon watching a preschool Thanksgiving program. I talked Syd into taking the afternoon off work so that she could get her drive home started early and miss some of the bad weather and traffic. In a couple of hours, I will come back and join the Wednesday O’s!
Please tell me you have photos of the preschool program! I miss those days. I had the kookiest dreams last night of teaching preschool again. I have the "Who's Underneath the Blanket" song stuck in my head too hahah!

Safe drive to Sydney!

Your life is like mine......on repeat just about every day! But I can still find little things to be thankful for. And I know you can, too. You just don't record them! But they are in your heart! :heartpumppink:

HA! My final bit of housework today will be cleaning the bathroom and mopping the floors. After that they can look at the dust that is quickly collecting again! This is the dustiest house I have ever seen in my life! Probably because we live so close to the road. Whatever! I finally climbed up on a step ladder and dusted the pictures and tops of shelves (don't tell Mark...he refuses to allow me on anything where my feet leave the floor! It is frustrating at times!). And I ran the long-handled duster thingy along the corners of the walls and ceilings to get the spider webs down! Where do they all come from??? I still need to run to Walmart for a few items today! I will start chopping and cutting things for the cooking tomorrow.

Good Morning,
Quick in and out as I begin the last day of prep for tomorrow. One more store run. One more room to clean...the bathroom. One last swipe at the floors with the mop. Then I will start chopping and cutting for tomorrow's cooking marathon! Needless to say, the Day 27 of my 30 Days project will not get done until late tomorrow! And I probably won't be in here until late, either! And on that note.......

I wish each and every single one of you a most blessed day tomorrow and a very Happy Thanksgiving (if you celebrate)! And I pray you get to spend lots of time with your family and or friends!

:dinner:

Good morning ladies. I am committed to getting this post made this morning. It is soooo cold here. And the winds gusted at times up to 60 mph in the night. The "feels like temperature" is 14 degrees. And our big Newfypoo is 100 percent in her element. She ALWAYS comes in for her treat immediately after she potties. But this morning, she had been out for 5 minutes before I called her in for her treat. We are supposed to get 4-8 inches of snow between 1:00 pm Friday and 1:00 am Sunday. That means that Sydney will get to see Andie in the snow...both of us have felt bad for 6 years that she has been snow deprived for that long.

We also have 24 pounds of butter. Expiration date of 12/9/25 but with freezing, that can easily be extended 6 months. Because we are about to enter the holiday baking season, we have lots of demand for butter in the family group chat. Thank goodness.

I've got my recipes taped to the kitchen cabinets and I have double checked ingredients for anything that we need to make for tomorrow. I'm trying something new. Pie crust bags. They are supposed to make it easier to roll a nice round crust. I'll let you know how it goes!

Please tell me you have photos of the preschool program! I miss those days. I had the kookiest dreams last night of teaching preschool again. I have the "Who's Underneath the Blanket" song stuck in my head too hahah!
It was a great program and all of the kids did so well. I have a picture of our two turkeys that I'll get in here later today. And I am glad that Jada was rescued by you!!

I wish each and every single one of you a most blessed day tomorrow and a very Happy Thanksgiving (if you celebrate)! And I pray you get to spend lots of time with your family and or friends!
Right back at you Vicky!!

@BrightEyes the things that you accomplish just amaze me! Hope you feel better today!

It's sunny and forecast to get up to at least 70° today. Then down to 21°tomorrow night. Really? Does that even make sense?

I have been on a tear the last couple days and have pretty much caught up with my Project 52 pages. Maybe I'll get a chance to do another challenge page, at least get up to 3 for the month, since I don't have to clean or cook for tomorrow.

My friend has been telling me that I'm supposed to clean the filter in my dishwasher. I never have, and we've been in this house going on 12 years. So this morning I got ambitious and decide OK, I'm doing it. Looked inside. Where the heck is the filter? Looked for help online. Lots of videos about removing the spray bar and finding it underneath. Can't find the user manual for my model online (the info is all faded and brushed away, so I'm not even sure of the model.) I give up, but David is like "Let me at it." He starts at the machine with tools, after warning "If I break this, we're buying a new dishwasher." Sigh. Some things get disassembled but no sign of a filter anywhere. (He did get it put back together.) Internet tells me that some Kenmore dishwashers don't have filters, they have choppers, which don't need cleaning. Regardless, my dishes get clean, and it looks OK inside, so I'm just saying this is a chore I'm never going to bother with.

While David did dishwasher stuff, I cleared some bloatware off his new phone that was making him irritated. So two wins before breakfast.

He get everything he wants.. our son buys him everything he wants.
Our grandkids exactly, except it's their auntie who lives down the street and their other grandma, who loves to shop. I've mostly given up on stuff, and have gravitated to tickets for plays, movies, museums, etc. I don't think it's as fun for them on Christmas morning, though.

I even ironed the tablecloths.
I thought creases down the center of the table was how tablecloths were supposed to look :floorlaugh:
It's funny, I was just talking with someone the other day, if my ironing board fell apart, would I bother getting another. I decided nope. (Although how it would fall apart, since it permanently lives in the utility room folded up against the water heater, is beyond me.)

And I ran the long-handled duster thingy along the corners of the walls and ceilings to get the spider webs down! Where do they all come from???
Spiders! My house is constantly draped in spider webs. The first year we were here I assumed it was because it had been empty for 6 months and there was no one to chase them out. But we've been here years and they still outmaneuver me. We have skylights in a cathedral ceiling and I had to buy a dust mop that I screw onto an extensible painters pole to reach up there.

Good Morning!
Hold onto you hats. I got quote crazy!!! :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Coffee must be strong this morning!!!!

(See- this is Reason #98768 why I don't bother with the Daily Gratitude challenges. 99.99999 % of my entries would be about coffee. The remaining .000001% and .0000001% would be family and dogs. :rotfl:)
This cracked me up!!!!! You could do the challenge. Thankful for coffee which allowed me to........... wake up, clean, smile, savor the moment.
I even ironed the tablecloths. That's pretty darn huge for me because I don't ever use tablecloths-even though my mom is a tablecloth connoisseur. And I don't; ever iron either. Put the two together, and I swear the earth shook on its axis for a moment.
:eek:o_O:eek::wow2: This sounds ............ like a nightmare. And it explains the shake we had yesterday. Wasn't an earthquake but I felt something off in the universe. Now I know it was you ironing the tablecloths!!! I'm with you 100000%, dont iron and dont tablecloth. My MIL is a tablecloth person and always has the table covered. She changes the pattern every month. I dont get it. But I think its generational.
I will admit, as much as I hate to say anything nice about snow, it is pretty when it is all sparkly. I can never get a decent photo of it.
Yes, I hear ya. Never a good photo. But I try and try. I am going to try one more technique I heard about. It was done for waterfall photos but you can do it with anything. Take a Live Photo. Then you click the "long exposure" button at the top of the photo. Suppose to create a magical misty feel. Gonna try and see what happens. Worse case, delete.

What? You might be busy tomorrow and miss posting???? How???? Not like its thanksgiving LOL. Have a happy thanksgiving and time with family.
We also have 24 pounds of butter
:wow2: I thought I had a lot of butter. You win.
up to at least 70° today. Then down to 21°tomorrow nigh
That's a crazy huge swing in temps. Hope you dont go that low tomorrow.
Internet tells me that some Kenmore dishwashers don't have filters, they have choppers, which don't need cleaning. Regardless, my dishes get clean, and it looks OK inside, so I'm just saying this is a chore I'm never going to bother with.
The filter doesn't look like a normal filter. Its more of a strainer style and usually plastic. Its also easily accessible. Its suppose to be rinsed/cleaned monthly so it should not require tools. But if you have clean dishes and its worked for 12 years, dont touch it. I forget the brand I have but the "filter" is in the bottom, I just move the spinning arm out of the way, grab the little sucker and pop it out, clean it and put it back. Simple, easy, and no tools. I'm guessing you dont have a filter like most.

Well, today is pie day so I better get the dogs fed so I can putter in the kitchen. Have a wonderful day and Have a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!
