Yup, I am late here opening this thread up today. I guess I got my "wish" that we have a snow day here. They actually called it last night before I went to bed so I was able to turn my alarm off. Usually they call it about 15 minutes after I am up and running.
Forecasts are still calling for about 10" which makes me unhappy, as does losing the pay for working today. But I have been feeling so awful, that it has to be a good thing that I am getting some down time-ish.

Scott is down at Leah's already, I'm so glad that he took my advice to go last night. The rain/snow mix has started here already and it is supposed to change to all snow soon.

Did I ever tell you all how much I hate snow?

Oh fellow Weather Bitches, it is going to be a loooooong winter.....

Today I want to finish up the Dec Challenge I am hosting and I have to make the soup for tomorrow.I also have got to get my Faery-Wings supplies and recipes ready to go. I am doing four baskets for my neighbor plus the one for my mom and then some assorted gifts and stocking stuffers for the fam.

QOTD
What is your perfect weather day? For me, it would be hot and sunny - not so humid but hey, I live in NJ! But the breeze of fof the ocean will be nice, because you know I have to be down the shore too.

To put in some good news-- I am all enrolled in my insurance plan and all of my drs are on it. That only took one phone call, easy peasy! No one is sure why I still cannot get emails since they now have to correct one in my account. Just wait-- 2 years from now I am going to get a million emails all at once!
Cait's BF was also released from the hospital too, yay!!
And yes, I survived food shopping. It was crazy in there, even just at 8.30 am! But luckily, everyone was nice, we all chatted as we maneuvered our carts around each other.

From yesterday, my lOvelies...

Laurie- enjoy your long weekend and be safe driving. My fingers are crossed for a healthy furnace as well.

Phyllis- my fingers are crossed for you for NO snow.
I love your International Task Force!:canada::americanflag

Trudy- I am so glad that you listened to your body and didn't push yourself to do more laps. You will get back to where you were but you will only relapse if you go too hard.
The drs have no idea what caused the lung to collapse. He works for Walmart (poor guy) and the dr cleared him for work. I worry b/c walmart will push him and push him and not give a s*** that he was just out of the hospital. They apparently threatened to fire him if he wasn't in on Black Friday.

Yeah, don't get me started on my bio kids or my "adopted" kids.

I cannot imagine not eating bread. It is one of my favorite foods.

Jean- so glad that you aren't getting any more snow, you had enough already!
Online shopping is truly the best way to go! My only issue is that I can't pay cash!

hugs and love and happy thoughts!!!

lOve the O!
Good Morning O fam- Chris I would take your snow and stay home and craft- however no snow means I can go do family time and I am okay with that- no expectations- just intention to be able to get to know my siblings better now that I am not living anywhere near them (for the past 12 years). I am cleaning and crafting today instead. My oldest called me last night and had me on speaker phone as he wanted his gf to know that he did know how to make mashed potatoes. By the time the call ended I just wanted to roll on the floor laughing. Both he and gf felt validated and hopefully were going to determine the recipes they were going to use and ingredients they needed before they headed to the store! First holiday in new house- he wanted to know if he could buy boxed stuffing - umm no you are having friends over- stuffing is easy!! Anyways- I probably need to scrap this as it something I want to remember!

Have meaningful holidays all!

Hey ladies! I just wanted to say that I really hate birds. I get really sad when I see a kit that I'd love, and then there's a dang giant bird inside it. I think ewww gross, and don't buy it. Love butterflies, dragonflies, just not the birds.

And as for the weather.... today, the high is supposed to be 77* and tomorrow, 84*. I can't do snow, even though I get envious of everyone's PL pages. I'll take sunny & hot all day every day. We had enough rain from Hurricane Norbert to last a lifetime here in AZ. Have a wonderful day lovelies!

Good morning - the rain has turned to snow already so Chris I am assuming you are getting snow now too. I am so glad I do not have to travel but 5 miles on back roads to get to my son's house for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Chris my son shopped for me yesterday. I can't tell you how nice that is to have an him do this. He makes me crazy at times but this is one chore he is good at. Yesterday I got in a good walk and I may go out today too as it is snow and not rain and it looks so pretty out there. My son and I are going tomorrow to a Devils open practice and then to the holiday dinner so I have to make my part of the dinner tonight. But that is good as it has to be cold any way. Still do not have the tire from my oldest son. That is annoying! Notice I did not start this by talking about my Devils as they really forgot how to play last night. They lost 2-0. It will be good to watch them practice and see if they really do know how to play. LOL

Chris take it easy and enjoy the snow. It is pretty. Chris one of my friend's son also had a collapsed lung for no reason. Sometimes it just happens. Glad he will be home for the holidays.

Laurie have to scrap this story about your son and this call. Too cute!

Namaste you sound like my sister who also lives in AZ and know she cannot handle the snow.

Trudy glad you are back swimming!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... foggy and very mild here today, WTH is happening with the weather?? We are so mild that you hardly need a sweater on to go outside. I am not complaining, but strange things are going on with our winter!! Going for a few more laps today, hopefully it won't wipe me out :faint:

Chris - Its nice that you did not have to wait until morning to find out about having a snow day, but really how did the school know for sure that it would be a snow day?? Pretty sure the weather man has been wrong once or twice LOL. Glad you survived your shopping day and that everyone was friendly that early in the morning it makes for much more pleasant shopping experience!! Walmart...ugghhh that poor kid, you are right they don't give two hoots about their employees imagine threatening to fire him after that horrible experience!

Laurie - have a nice day cleaning and crafting!! I am looking forward to seeing you're page about your funny phone conversation!! Have fun with your brother and drive safely!!

Namaste (sorry I don't know your real name)- LOL did you have a horrible experience with birds? or while watching the movie "The Birds"? I love birds and think they are beautiful creatures, SPIDERS however now they really freak me out :fear: guess we all have our own fears, Chris's fear makes me laugh!! (sorry buddy) Guess you are living in the perfect place if you don't like the snow! I would miss the distinct four seasons I think, but I would love to try to live somewhere where it never snows for a couple of years!!

Nancy - Sorry you're Devils are doing about as badly as our Bruins!! Hope they attempt to play a better game of hockey at the practise! It should be fun to watch! Enjoy your walk in the snow, take some pics I bet its pretty!! WTG on your son for shopping for you, but I would be scolding the older one for not getting that darn tire fixed already!!

Phylis - are you on the road already?? If so I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!!

QOTD - My perfect weather day would be a beautiful spring day, not too hot, sunny and the air would be filled with smell of cherry blossoms!!

Ok I have to get my bag packed for swimming and then a Skype with my DD and grandson before I head out the door. Later today the In-Laws are coming to pick up the wine that DH and I bottled last night for them, its a really good batch too!!

Have a great day everyone!

hiya. a teeny bit of snow here. i think we're getting a half inch, and then nothing tomorrow. :cheer2: i've been making pies this morning for tomorrow, and some cauliflower cheese soup for dinner tonight. i think Hubby will be getting out of work early today, so maybe we can have dinner at a civilized hour.

Namaste, hi! i had to laugh at your bird comment. i'm not a fan either, but i AM a fan of your weather. maybe some day i'll convince my Hubby to move us out of Lake Effect Land.

Chris, bummer about the snow. i was looking at the radar and wondering whether you'd luck out and be in the rain band instead of the snow band, but no such luck, eh? why does this crap always happen at Holiday time?? here we specialize in ice storms on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. hardly ever fails. Weather Bitches, UNITE!!

Trudy, i don't have to be on the road. well, not until tomorrow. my SIL lives about 45 minutes away, so not much of a trip! i wish we had some of that Pacific Northwest weather here! like you said about not having to shovel rain.... AND i wish i could tuck in to some of your home made wine!

Laurie, hope your road trip is moisture-free and pleasant!

QOTD: a sunny fall day is my ideal. about 70 degrees, with the leaves beginning to turn.

OK. off to the shower. wow, it's GREAT to have those pies done. making pie crust is not my favorite passtime. Happy Thanksgiving, all. Remember what it's for. :becky:

Chris- was that bear that killed a man who took photos of it before that near you? I have cleaned the living room, wrestled two benches in boxes down the basement steps, took them out of said boxes, put legs on and now they are pretty extra seating in our basement with storage space for dance shoes!! OKay back to wrapping and making gifts!

Namaste, good to see you here! Guess designers can't win as I sometimes go for a kit because it has a neat bird or two. AZ weather may be nice now and I've greatly enjoyed birding there at times (especially spring) but the summer heat would do me in.

QOTD: I like sunny, not humid, high about 78* but a little cooler is fine and even a little warmer when it's dry. Not picky or anything! Oh, add in a gentle breeze and it's perfect.

Today is gray and 30s so no complaints from me. I wouldn't wish all that snow on those of you getting it. But glad I'm out of its path. Nothing special planned today (at least that I can remember at the moment.)

Chris, mixed blessing with the snow day, so sure hope you get some extra rest out of it. Poor Cait's BF to be treated so callously by Wal*Mart. Thinking of him hoping he stays well and all your family too.

Laurie, your day sounds nice and scrapping that conversation will be interesting to see. Good luck on your drive!

Phylis, glad you don't have too much snow and not so far to travel tomorrow. I don't have any weather bitching to do just now but I fear it really is going to be another looong winter.

Nancy, hope you have fun in the snow and get good photos of it. Do you have feeders at home? If so, bet the birds will be happy to show up with the snow. Guess the less said about the Devils for now is best.

Trudy, enjoy the mild days while we envy them. The wine sounds great as do your Skype and swimming. Hope you feel better with your laps soon.

Hope it's a good day for all.
