The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
helllloooooOOOOO O-zies!
I am feeling a bit off this morning. Every year, my dad has someone come up to clean our gutters and they are here already. They got here at 7.30 and we didn't even have the dogs outside yet. I took Ray out but the other two are running from window to window and grumbling at the workers. I also did;t sleep *again* and this is making me darn aggravated. When I did sleep, I slept funny on my hip and now I can't stand up straight. (it sucks getting old!)

FP Alert- I got a pumpkin pie! That means I don't have to bake one today. Woo hoo! My dad is dropping off my mom's stuffing and sweet potatoes this morning and my ILs are bringing up MILs stuffing and some turkey for Scott and Gary this afternoon. All I really have to work on tomorrow is the mashed potatoes. I have 5 lbs of Yukon Golds to cook and yes, we will eat all of that over the next few days. Mmmmmm.
We have never been home on Thanksgiving. Never in my life. As a kid, we would go to my maternal grandma's and swing by my other g-parents afterward. As an adult, we would rotate between my mom's, my MILs, and my brother's. I won't cook a turkey so I never hosted. And here I am having T Day here and I am still not cooking a turkey. I am making a tofu turkey with cranberry stuffing thanks to my free item from the supermarket. Freezer>oven>table. My kind of meal. Oh!! I can't forget to make bread or rolls in the bread machine. If I don't have bread, my DD will never talk to me again. She still roasts my MIL for not having bread one year, who said that the bread was in the stuffing. I will not be able to live with her if I don't make bread. :lalala:

I was able to order a few things online yesterday for gifts but this going to be really hard to not shop. It isn't even a good idea to shop local- my little town had 29 new cases yesterday. We had been averaging 7-9 a day so this was a big jump. I spent an hour on the Walgreen's website since I can get that shipped to the store for free and pick it up curbside but after all of that time, I really didn't want anything that they had.

I have some things I have to do around the house, somethings I need to do here, and then not much else that has to get done, but a lot that *should* get done.
(ya feel me on that?)

Wish me luck!

Trudy- did the sun ever come out by you? It is dark and gloomy here too. I am in the same boat as you with the wandering and online shopping. It makes for a frustrating day, doesn't it?
Any news on SILs mammo? *fingers and toes crossed for good results*
We always have so much fun with the stocking stuffers, makes me sad that is going to have to be limited this year.

Kay- hehe, times flies sometimes doesn't it, one minute you are in bed, and then the brain won't turn off. Great that you were able to get some stuff done at least. Since I haven't been able to get books from the library in a while, I have been downloading ebooks on Hoopla. Don't thing gloves will help me turn pages on the tablet.;)
It is crazy how much tracking info all of the companies have on us.

Cheryl OMG I am so happy that you like the podcast so much! yay!!
a 4 ring circus by you, sounds about right in line here but we don't have to worry about construction (until we need to redo Cait's floor ugh)

Rae- could your battery not hold a hold if you aren't driving often? (Note to self: Start your car today it has been over a week)
Please take it easy with your back, I don't know if it the same with you, but I know that if I move wrong while it is in spasms, I end up losing any progress I had made.

Kythe- have fun playing with the art dolls- Diane/Madi uses a lot so you can also try checking out her gallery

Good Morning ladies... Well wouldn't you know it the sun is shining and there is blue sky out there this morning. Of course this happens when our hiking group has been told to shut down for a few weeks because of the high Covid numbers :mmph: So no hike for me today or for the next couple of weeks at least. I did go swimming yesterday and had a lane all to myself, it was lovely! However there sure were not many in the pool and I think that people are getting pretty nervous about attending. I am booked for swimming up until the 8th of December, but we will see if that will be happening or not. Today my Sister is dropping off the toques she has made for me and not sure if she will stay for a visit or not. I guess if we both have our masks on we could sit out on the front porch under the propane heater and have a cup of coffee or tea? Oh and yesterday I finally got the final items I ordered from the States, it only took a month and a half LOL. A beautiful set of dies to make some Christmas Cards with, so I will be busy doing that today! I need to make a few Sympathy cards also, last night we got a phone call from one of my brothers letting us know that our ex-brother-in-law had passed away. He had prostrate cancer and was 85 years old. He had come to live with his Son and DIL a few years back and they have been taking wonderful care of him. He had an assisted death on Tuesday morning. He was married to my oldest sister and was such a lovely man! Won't go into any details but she was crazy to leave him!!

Chris - The sun did come out yesterday, just in time for supper then of course it started getting dark LOL. No news from SIL yet, but then I haven't heard anything about anybody on that side of the family :mmph: They have this strange fear of picking up the telephone LOL. I know it will be very strange for you to be spending Thanksgiving at home this year! It will be a crazy weird Christmas Season for us all ! I hope that you have a nice visit with your parents and in-laws when they drop off the great goodies! I would say "Happy" Thanksgiving to you but there is nothing "Happy" about anything going on this year!! I do hope that you have a lovely time with your kids, hubby and fur babies and that you continue to be safe and healthy!

Ok off to the shower and then my morning chores of making the bed and emptying the dishwasher, what an exciting life I lead LOL. I hope that you are all well! Be kind, be calm and be safe!!

Good morning, Lovelies.

Dark and gloomy again today here, but no sleet! Yes, it's pretty crazy around here - dd is here working again today.

Chris, I finished the Podcast last night - I hated for it to end. I've been listening to that every chance I got since you told me about it. I was so thrilled that it ended well. I had NO idea that was still going on. Sounds like it's been put to bed for good this time. Very, very fascinating! I loved listening to the Cherokee talkers and that mysterious, beautiful Native music.

Trudy, I'm so happy that you still get to swim. I know that must help your mental status.

Chris, we have a huge bag of potatoes on the kitchen counter waiting for cooking and mashing. We ordered most of our food, but still have a few things to make. The oven here at the house didn't work - panic set it - but the guys got it fixed. We thought we were going to have to cart the food up to Ava's to bake it. Only 2 burners out of 4 work on the stove top, but what we're fixing are all baked.

Can't wait to get in our house!

Everybody stay safe. Hugs to all.

Seems like I just got up and suddenly it is mid-afternoon! Working on the computer part of the morning - for some reason my ExHD is failing to back-up on schedule - so I am having to check on it and do a manual start to get it going. Then it seems to back-up like it should. I was fuzting around making a new siggy... then realized that I don't have a regular siggy here at OS... Oh, well... I can use it at a different forum as the designer is also there. I was trying to get into the Christmas spirit so made one for that season.

I didn't get the pumpkin pie baked yesterday - wasn't in the mood to cook at all. Maybe I will get it done today... if not... oh, well! Cheryl, bet you almost had a heart-attack when your oven quit. Glad the guys were able to get it fixed since you really need it for most of the meal prep.

Chris, it sounds like this will be a Thanksgiving your family will remember for a long time.... so different than what it has been in the past. But it sounds like you will still be having most of the same foods thanks to your mom and your MiL.... WOW... that is a lot of potatoes but bet they will be all be eaten up in a couple of days. DH used to love for me to make salmon croquettes with leftover mashed potatoes.

My family used to always come to our house for years. Then for several years, DD#1 and I swapped which holidays we hosted at our houses. Then she took over having most of them. I had to LOL as I still ended up making a small turkey dinner for DH and I a few days later so DH could have "his left-overs".

Trudy, sorry that the hikes have been cancelled indefinitely but understand why due to the rise in cases. Glad you are getting the toques in plenty of time to get them mailed.

Wishing you all a happy holiday tomorrow [for those who celebrate it].
