*thinking out loud* Since Thanksgiving is a bit earlier this year, will that mean I will have more time for Christmas planning?*
Probably not!

I am really stunned that tomorrow is Thanksgiving. How the heck did this happen? I think that with the warmer than usual Autumn weather, it feels like the season is shorter, maybe? Of course, it is freezing cold now. My dad i coming up to help me with the leaves this morning. I don't like to be outside in the cold. *whines a bit*

Yesterday I got good news and bad news. That is an exaggeration, a bit. The good news is that my new computer came!!! :whoo: The bad is that they sent the wrong graphics card. :frusty: The computer was supposed to come with a graphics card that would support two monitors. The one they sent would not. Gary called the company and they are sending out a new one which *should* be here on Friday. That means I am stuck with this one (Thank goodness it is working albeit a bit on the wonky side) until we can get the new card and all the rest of that. I can't let this one go to sleep or shut it down but that is much better than it shutting down forever. *fingers and toes crossed that it lasts until we get the new one up*

The kids don't have classes today, so they are asleep. Cait's stomach was acting up again yesterday, so she was home but was able to email her assignment to her prof and will give him the hard copy on Monday. How cool is that to be able to email assignments? Scott had a good day and is thinking more about his career choices and we had a good convo about that.

We also gave our dogs the doggy IQ tests in the book Hyperbole and a Half. The book has two dogs named Simple Dog and Helper Dog. Simple Dog is well, Simple. They got Helper Dog, who is a maniac, to bring her out of her shell, and to teach Simple Dog how to be a dog. Simple Dog does not do well on the IQ tests and the owner cheats so they don't have to live with the idea of having a dumb as rocks dog.
One of the test was to show the dog a treat, put it under a paper cup and see how they react. Jaida knocked the cup right over. Ray-- she sniffed it a bit , licked the cup a bit, sniffed again. Scott showed her the cookie again, covered it up, then waited to see what Ray would do. Same thing. Two more times... Jaida comes whipping around the island, knocks the cup over, grabs the cookie and takes off.
The three of us were laughing so hard, my stomach was killing me.

The next test is cover the dog in a blanket and see how long it takes to get out from under it. Within a few seconds, J had her head out and was running off into the LR. Ray-- omg, I am going to rot in hell for this-- She was slowly wandering around the little kitchen area all covered up, bumping into us. We were crying! I still feel so mean but we gave them both lots of love and more treats.

End Result: Ray is our Simple Dog and Jaida is most definitely our Helper Dog.
:pound:

So today is raking leaves and cleaning the house. I will stress about what I am wearing tomorrow later on. I will also stress about Faery-Wings and Gift Shopping for another time too. I hope.;)

Have a wonderful day!!!!

Nancy- we struggle with the command Come too. Ray is fine with that, but Jaida is a butt. One of the things is that the trainer told us is to only say it once or they think that can come whenever they want. I try my best to do that, but the rest of the fam, not at all. I know that I mess that one up but at least I try. Luther is so smart that he will get it in no time.
Sorry to hear that your Devils are injured, hope they get back on the ice for you soon. oooooh! That heated coat sounds fab. Now I get to hate on you too, so go stand by Trudy and Rae. :D
My friend who I was cleaning for sent me home with some boxes of turkey stuffing and gravy so I had dinner last night with some of the leftover chicken so that one was dinner down. Her DS is 10, I think, and might make chocolate lollipops to see with us too. I hope he does, that would be so cute and a nice way to give back to her.

Trudy- you must be so excited to have the family with you this weekend!!! Your dinner sounds like he will enjoy it very much and I wish I was one of your grands so I could go to that pool too!
ITA about the Vitamins and that is what the Dr said too. Not to worry about the calcium as long as I eat dairy (yum!) but Vit D is essential as a supplement. I will drag the bottle down and start taking it... *grumble*
I am sorry that you keep getting distracted. IKWYM- Distracted must be (one of) my middle names. Christine Distracted Confused Forgetful Ann Iantosca Campbell. LOL

Rae- oh my, my heart and stomach just dropped when reading about the weird noises from your computer. Bet the Anna Class is amazing.
How cute Taz must have been in those pictures! He is such a cutie, so sociable. That is also a great reminder about always giving rewards/love when they do come. I forget that a lot and I know my family (the male members) will get aggravated and yell when they don't come. I will have to work on that with them and with J. :)

Have a fantastic day!

good morning - I woke after dreaming that Blake Shelton was going to teach me to play the guitar. That was pretty funny. Gwen was there too which is even funnier. Have no idea what that means. Today is pretty low key. Laundry so I have clean clothes to wear to the Devils game tonight. It should be fun as the Maple Leafs and their young stars will be there and it will be the first time I see them. I have to make a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up what I forgot and did write a list LOL. Luther and I had a great walk as there is less wind and the sky is a perfect blue.

Chris I am still laughing at your doggie IQ test and your puppies. That is so funny! Hope Cait feels better today! Hope raking goes well. I was freezing when I started the walk but once we got going I warmed right up. And I will stand with Trudy and Rae as the coat is so awesome. Clean house is always nice!

Trudy sorry you were awake so early! Your dinner for your son sounds yummy and how with with all the guests. I am sure the kids will have such fun at the pool. You will be a busy happy bee! I am going to guess that you are a member of Anna's team. I hope I am correct.

Rae I was at Anna's class and it is so awesome. I mean I play with blending modes but never think to try a test sheet to see how my photos react with black, white and gray. I bet the photos of Taz were adorable. And omgosh I hope the noises from computer are gone now!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I enjoyed relaxing with my coffee and book a little bit longer this morning. I'm reading a funny contemporary romance called (I think) One Plus One. I worked late last night got lots done and will do the same today, anything I can accomplish today makes tomorrow easier as I'll be leaving a bit early to head to the States. The earlier the better b/c I know the border traffic will be nuts.

Chris - sucks about the computer card but at least you can still use it in the meantime. My noisy computer is still chugging away. I'll be glad next week to talk to my computer guy and get an idea on when the new one will be ready. I"ve got that book but haven't read it yet. I think I should soon. I can't wait to do that test with Taz LOL.

Trudy - what was that? Are you permanently on Anna's team now? I have been loving your pages you make with all her awesome stuff. That sucks about the early awakening. Hope you are napping now.

Nancy - that's funny about your dream LOL. Of course the first thing I think of is, how was Gwen dressed? She always makes a fashion statement. Enjoy the game tonight. Yes, loved hearing Anna talk. I knew all that stuff about the blend modes so didn't learn anything but it was fun to hear her talk about it and I guess its good that it confirms that I do know what I'm doing LOL. I'm obsessed with blend modes and use them pretty much on every page in some way.

I'm going to get another cup of coffee and get started on my day. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Hi everyone, back after my sleep!! It took a while but I finally fell back into dreamland and slept until 8am. No good dreams like Nancy had, but that's ok! So my good news is two fold, yes I am a permanent member of Anna's team, but also I am going to be a Grandma again! I have been keeping this a secret for a couple of weeks now, waiting for Heather to have her ultrasound and make sure everything is coming along fine with her pregnancy. :preggers: So yesterday she had it done and now I am allowed to shout it out to everyone I know LOL. So the due date is July 3rd and Mason will be a big brother. We are so happy for her, a bit worried about how she will manage to handle two of them but I am sure it will all work out. So there you have it, my big news, well big news to me anyway :becky: I had better get busy and get my calendars worked on and then get a challenge done for next month. Hope that you all have a fab day!!

So many good things in your posts today! I just want to share my pleasure in something done yesterday at the White House. President Obama bestowed the Medal of Honor to a star-studded group along with two posthumous ones. One of the latter went to Grace Hopper. She is especially dear to my heart as I was a civilian computer programmer for the Navy. She was even promoted to Commodore, possibly when she retired from the Reserves. Nothing special here as it'll just be the two of us tomorrow. Much of DH's family is gathering in Houston, but we felt it too far to drive this time of year and we refuse to fly. We did see much of my family on Saturday at the wedding of a great niece. Of course that ended in about 2 inches of snow on the car outside the party center! In the 40s here now.

Trudy, how exciting that Mason will have a little sibling! Best wishes to Heather and all the family. And congrats on Anna's CT, you do indeed create beautifully with the aA products.

Rae, my DH just reported on the relationship of Vancouver to Bellingham as he was very curious why you'd go there for Black Friday. You never know what a guy will pick up on! So hope the computer hangs in there and you have a great US shopping trip.

Nancy, good luck to the Devils tonight! I know what you mean about what you forgot at the store. We did a big grocery shopping yesterday but now I'm wondering what I forgot.

Chris, you tell the absolute best stories. Poor Ray!! The doggie test just wasn't her thing. Why can't things go more smoothly for you though? I can't imagine why you didn't get the right video card! Thank goodness for your super family and crazy animals.

Wishing a lovely Thanksgiving to all who celebrate this one.
