*thinking out loud* Since Thanksgiving is a bit earlier this year, will that mean I will have more time for Christmas planning?*
Probably not!
I am really stunned that tomorrow is Thanksgiving. How the heck did this happen? I think that with the warmer than usual Autumn weather, it feels like the season is shorter, maybe? Of course, it is freezing cold now. My dad i coming up to help me with the leaves this morning. I don't like to be outside in the cold. *whines a bit*
Yesterday I got good news and bad news. That is an exaggeration, a bit. The good news is that my new computer came!!! :whoo: The bad is that they sent the wrong graphics card. :frusty: The computer was supposed to come with a graphics card that would support two monitors. The one they sent would not. Gary called the company and they are sending out a new one which *should* be here on Friday. That means I am stuck with this one (Thank goodness it is working albeit a bit on the wonky side) until we can get the new card and all the rest of that. I can't let this one go to sleep or shut it down but that is much better than it shutting down forever. *fingers and toes crossed that it lasts until we get the new one up*
The kids don't have classes today, so they are asleep. Cait's stomach was acting up again yesterday, so she was home but was able to email her assignment to her prof and will give him the hard copy on Monday. How cool is that to be able to email assignments? Scott had a good day and is thinking more about his career choices and we had a good convo about that.
We also gave our dogs the doggy IQ tests in the book Hyperbole and a Half. The book has two dogs named Simple Dog and Helper Dog. Simple Dog is well, Simple. They got Helper Dog, who is a maniac, to bring her out of her shell, and to teach Simple Dog how to be a dog. Simple Dog does not do well on the IQ tests and the owner cheats so they don't have to live with the idea of having a dumb as rocks dog.
One of the test was to show the dog a treat, put it under a paper cup and see how they react. Jaida knocked the cup right over. Ray-- she sniffed it a bit , licked the cup a bit, sniffed again. Scott showed her the cookie again, covered it up, then waited to see what Ray would do. Same thing. Two more times... Jaida comes whipping around the island, knocks the cup over, grabs the cookie and takes off.
The three of us were laughing so hard, my stomach was killing me.
The next test is cover the dog in a blanket and see how long it takes to get out from under it. Within a few seconds, J had her head out and was running off into the LR. Ray-- omg, I am going to rot in hell for this-- She was slowly wandering around the little kitchen area all covered up, bumping into us. We were crying! I still feel so mean but we gave them both lots of love and more treats.
End Result: Ray is our Simple Dog and Jaida is most definitely our Helper Dog.
ound:
So today is raking leaves and cleaning the house. I will stress about what I am wearing tomorrow later on. I will also stress about Faery-Wings and Gift Shopping for another time too. I hope.
Have a wonderful day!!!!
