I almost typed "October" instead of November in the Subject just now. It is totally, 100% *not* October. It snowed last night.
I said my first F-bomb of the snow season. Yup, I am sure that there will be many, many more to come. Thankfully, it didn't stick, at least not here. The schools have a delayed opening so my guess is that it did stick up the mountain.
I got a lot accomplished yesterday but not too much to show for it. Almost all of the Halloween boxes are in the attic (it was so cold up there!) and I know that I'll be back up there soon for the Christmas decorations. That will be fun though. I kept on crocheting and am really happy with how it is coming out. Now it's a battle between me and the yarn, will I run out of yarn before I finish the shawl???
I made a vegetarian pot pie for dinner to test a vegan pie crust recipe. I am making apple pie for next week and I have to admit I make the *best* pie crust. (I am so modest. It's actually a Martha Stewart recipe and it's reeaaaaaaalllly good and flaky) This one was ok-- it was much better than I expected but vegan butter doesn't give it the same flavor. The recipe also calls for apple cider vinegar to "loosen the gluten" and even though I used less than the recipe calls for (tried that with pastry before and wasn't thrilled with the taste) you could still taste that it was "off." Gary thought I made it with cauliflower. (don't ask me, it didn't taste anything like cauliflower *shrugs*)
Today is gonna be another busy one. I am going to cube the chuck roast and trim the fat, pop it in the crock pot with some carrots and cook that for the dogs. They might only eat a tiny bit of it before it goes bad. Although I can probably refreeze it? One thing I really, really hate is wasting food. I am picking up my groceries and then off to the vet to pick up the dogs' heartworm and tick preventative. Cleaning for my friend this afternoon and then what to cook for dinner...
such excitement! LOL!!
Have fun today!
